The Darkness

It had taken her sometime to find the estate gate and then she had faced the outside world, the street of the estate was relatively quiet but then she kept on walking, knowing that taking the first lane might be the fastest way for her to get caught, she took every unmarked way she could Walking like she had a mission, it was too early for her to get stares from anyone but that didn't mean the few people she saw who cared enough to look, didn't notice that blank stare on her face She walked far enough that the sun was almost overhead and more people were surging the roads, the fluffy slippers looking more and more conspicuous on her, she was getting tired when she rounded a corner and what met her was a market. Even though it wasn't yet rush hour but the place was packed with people and the sun had risen overhead. It made her lips to curve in the weird smile that didn't reach her expressionless eyes, then she walked up to a bus stop and deposited herself on a chair there. Her eyes looking ahead at the other side of the road, no one could really tell what was special in the other bus stop that kept her eyes there. In a little while, she lay half her body on the remaining seats, her fingers tapping on the edge of the chair. She had an idea when it started, when the tap of her fingers started to annoy her, when the voices that she liked listening to, started to scare her. She sat up slowly, wishing in her heart that it won't happen again, that she would not feel that final sprain that caused her to lose herself. For a moment it really did happen. Everything became alright. The voices going back to being part of the steadiness of this moment, she waited for a moment and lay back down, then started to drum her fingers again. Then it jumped out at her with no warning, so that the normal young woman that was lying at the bus station though a tad unusual stood up and started to run for no reason. It was going to catch up to her, the darkness, but before it could she was going to fight. Then her vision started to dim, so that she went crashing into a woman with a barrel but she didn't stop, didn't say anything. Treated the incident like a disturbance and powered on I can't lose, I can't lose myself, she kept saying in her mind Then the market voices started to get burgeoning again, it was raising itself to be a very loud cacophony but she couldn't make out exactly what they were saying or even see anything at all. It made her start to shout very loud, her voice joining the cacophony, trying to shout the other voices down She didn't stop though, she couldn't stop, she heard crashes again and then she felt the monster push her, she stumbled and fell. The voices grew louder till she couldn't take it anymore. She got up again and ran. The voices grew louder and louder, then she heard a loud screeching and something bump into her. Not enough to crash her down but she was already on her wits end. So when she fell down, the darkness swallowed her.
