Maya was all set to be discharged from the hospital. She was never close to her father but she didn’t think she’d just allow her to live with strangers. It was as if he just couldn’t be bothered with her and sent her packing with people she barely met. The ride home was quiet her father-in-law was the one driving. From what Maya gathered Doctor Tobias Parrish seemed like a kind and well-mannered doctor while her “husband” Liam Parrish looked like a brooding and quiet individual.  She wondered what could’ve attracted her to him other than his face. “We’re here.” Liam said. As they reached their home she was surprised at the sheer size of it.  It was an old 18th century manor that looked like it had countless of rooms. As they entered they were received by her husband’s family. Liam’s two brothers, their wives and her mother. She was immediately hugged by a tiny young woman. “I’m Alice.” She introduced herself.  Maya could feel she gave of an uncomfortable vibe from the hug. She just found it odd as the girl’s flesh touched hers it felt weirdly cold like Richard’s. While the other girl just left. Maya couldn’t really tell everyone apart as everyone looked so young. “This is my wife Esmerelda and my other sons Adam and Brian. Alice is Adam’s wife and Rebecca is Brian’s wife. You have to excuse her she may not be feeling well and that’s why she left.” Tobias said. As Richard left to set up her room. Maya started exploring the home. She was amazed at all the different collection of antiques it had. “You should’ve stayed gone. You would’ve been safer.” A voice said from afar as she turned around she saw Rebecca. “What do you mean? Maya responded. “When you have the chance run.” Rebecca said. As Maya tried to approach her Rebecca just walked off. “There you are.” Liam said. “I’ll show you to our room.” Maya turned around and followed Liam through each and every passage. The manor was vast and felt like it was never ending but at the same time it gave a very sad and eerie presence. As they finally reached the end of the hall she saw the initials R & M on the door which obviously meant it was their room. As Richard opened the door she was awe stricken at the size of their room. To the most of her memories she lived a simple life with her mother in an apartment in L.A. and it seems her entire apartment could fit in that one single room. She sat on the bed which was very firm which wasn’t much to her liking. “We can replace it if you want.” He said. As if sensing her displeasure on the mattress. “It’s fine” Maya softly said. He sat down beside her and as their hands touch she quickly moved hers. She still couldn’t get used to how cold his hands were. A lot of things ran across her mind. This was their room, this was the bed they shared, shared in sleeping and waking up, shared in… love making. It was interrupted by loud howl followed by multiple howling noises of dogs. Liam immediately got up and commanded her to “stay here.”
