Ryker returned to the palace, but it wasn't a happy homecoming. The air was thick with tension as he stormed inside, his face twisted in anger. Emilia followed him, worried sick. She was afraid of his temper, but she had to know what was wrong.
"Ryker, please," she said, her voice shaking.
"Where did you go? You disappeared without saying a word! I was so worried about you."
Ryker turned around, his angry look making Emilia stop talking.
"That's enough," he said sharply. "You're asking too many questions. I don't have to tell you anything." Emilia opened her mouth to say something, but Ryker stopped her with a wave of his hand.
