I lay on the chair on the balcony and all I could think about was if I'd get that job or not. I had to ease my mind, so I just sat there basking in the sun and enjoying the view. The way the clouds were moving was so peaceful and I could swear I saw a cloud shape like a poodle. Too bad I couldn't take a picture, that's another reason why I need this job, I need a phone, lets just pray I know how to use one.
Sigh, as I thought about the phone, all the pain from my past resurfaced and I felt a small tear trickled down the side of my cheek. I had to get out of this room before I blew up like a blowfish from all the tears. I slowly got up and made my way to the bathroom, wearing shorts and a crop top. I left the building to go find a coffee place.
The place was so hot today, I needed a milkshake or an ice cream. "Crystal!!.. Crystal" I heard someone yelling my name, I had no doubt who it was because only one person knew me here so far. I turn around, to see her running towards me like a maniac. It's a good thing she didn't bump into me because that would've been one hell of an embarrassment.
Why are you running Tina. I just came to give you the great news, you can start working tomorrow, dress code is optional. I was filled with joy, that we both started screaming in the hallway like maniacs. "We better go before we're being hauled off by security." I added. I was just heading to find a coffee place, do you want to join me.
Of course and I know the perfect place. Great because I have no idea where I was planning to go. *We laughed* The dinner was in my favorite color, pink, it had donuts, coffee, mocha, chocolate, tea, milkshake and every dessert possible. It was so packed, that you could tell that this was a very successful place. I ordered a vanilla mixed with chocolate ice cream and Tina ordered the same.
Never have I thought I'd find such a good friend, she has been nothing but kind and welcoming to me since the day we met. We spent the rest of the day roaming the City, walking about and just enjoying the sun and its beautiful view. It was getting dark, we just sat on the park bench, taking in the night air.
Until suddenly a phone went off, obviously it was Tina's phone. I was too busy looking at the sunset that all I heard was "I'll be right there." She turned and hugged me goodbye saying, I'll see you tomorrow at work, my brother needs my help with something. "Don't be late!" She yelled. "I won't mother" I could hear her chuckle disappear into the night air.
I know what you're thinking, you guys are so close so soon but what can I say, Good friends are like four leaf clovers, they are hard to find and lucky to have. And Tina was a good friend, and I don't plan on letting go of her anytime soon. I sat there looking at the stars just admiring the view, I was glad to be free, glad to be able to see the outside of those horrible buildings.
I never want to go back to a life like that, I live where I didn't have a choice, I had to do what was told, and truth be told I'm not that type of person. I'm my own person and am not afraid to say what's on my mind but in my situation, I had to listen if I didn't want to experience worse than foster care. I made it back to my room and I must say, I'm getting pretty used to being on my own and having my own bed because as I opened the door and saw the bed I drifted straight off to sleep.
Tomorrow is my first day and my very first job and I don't want to give a bad impression by being late. As the morning dawned, I could feel the sunshine beaming through my windows, creating an enhancing atmosphere. Today's going to be an interesting day I can tell. I rolled out of bed but not dreading the day as I usually do.
I woke up with the biggest smile on my face, a feeling in my stomach; is it hope, is it a feeling of the unknown, what is it I can't tell. I made my way towards the bathroom and took a nice warm shower. Tina said clothing is optional, so I took out a pair of shorts, showing off the snake tattoo on my thigh. I also chose a black T-shirt marked "Brilliant, Beautiful and Badass."
I know you may be wondering when did I have time to get a tattoo, well here comes another story. On my sixteenth birthday, I escaped on of my many horrible foster homes and I decided to get a tattoo, not to be badass or anything, maybe to be badass a little but I did it because I wanted to be spontaneous, my life was so boring and normal, that I wanted to add a little fire to it, so I escaped and went to this close by tattoo shop and I told the women that I wanted a tattoo with a snake wrapped around a red flower.
That's how I got my very first tattoo, sure it was painful but it was worth it and that is an experience that I'll never forget. I took my purse in my hand and headed out the door, I saw Tina standing by the bar and she waved me over. "Charles will show you the ropes, you'll do fine; be right back, I have to get the table by the window."
I went over to Charles, he seems like a pretty decent guy but in my defense I think he's gay. He was so kind, he treated me like I wasn't an outsider but rather part of the team, part of the crew. I served three beers, a martini (dirty) and two whiskey on the rocks.
This is easier than I thought it would be but suddenly a sent filled the air, it took me about two seconds to figure out what it was... Oud mix with Tobacco, through all the crowd and the sweaty people that smell intoxicated my body. I couldn't tell who was wearing it but as I took up I saw the most handsome man I've ever seen, seriously, he was drop dead gorgeous and he knows it.
As he came closer, I felt my body eroding with goose bumps, the smell got stronger and so did the tension in the atmosphere. "Can I have a whiskey, neat" That's all I heard before everything went black, his voice was so deep and intimidating that I lost all my rational thoughts. He went on the phone for a moment, while I just stood there admiring the view, my eyes can't leave his sight and his perfectly toned muscles.
He came off the phone looking pissed and annoyed. "Are you deaf, I said I want a whiskey, neat" That's when my mind snapped back to reality and I gave him a death stare, looking him straight in the eye, as annoyed as he was. "And what gives you the right to speak to any of your employees like that, I don't know who you are but that doesn't give you the right to take out your anger on anyone, just by what happened on your phone earlier."
He just stayed there staring at me and that's when I realized he had the most amazing eye, the perfect shade of blue. "I'm sorry you're right, I shouldn't have taken out my anger on you or anyone else, I'm just having the worst day." That's ok, we all have those days, here's your Whiskey.... Neat. He left and went to sit by the table near the far end window. Leaving me in suspension, I never even got his name.
Inside His mind: I don't know what it is about her, maybe it was the way she stood up to me, no woman has ever dared to do that before, especially not with me. She was intriguing I must say, she had the perfect shade of Hazel eyes and the most infuriating aura. She had bossy written all over her, and I liked it. Never had I ever met a woman like this before, I became instantly drawn to her. I found myself wanting more, more of her presence, more of her.
I never visit this casino as often as I'd like to but just to get a glimpse of her long perfectly shade of brunette hair and her Hazel coloured eyes I would visit as often as I can. I don't know what she's doing to me and yet so soon but I'm drawn to her.
He was different than all the other guys I've ever met but then again I haven't met that much, just the ones in foster care. He was intimidating, attractive. I found myself drawn to him and his perfectly colored chestnut hair colour. His perfect shade of ocean blue eyes I remember piercing my soul as he stared into my eyes.
I couldn't stop thinking about him as I walked home. His name is still a mystery to me but I remember every last detail about him. From his perfectly chiseled chin to the tone of his muscles.
