Making a Choice.

Kaname then leaves my room. Why would he offer me this kind of help, when he doesn’t know me? Like I could be a serial killer for all he knows. It’s a very nice offer and I would still be somewhere where I can get treatment for my wounds. Kaname is offering me help on keeping me safe from my husband. He offered me a job and a place to live temporarily. The only thing is, just like he doesn’t know me, I don’t know him. Is he true to his word? Will he help keep me safe? Or will he kill me when he gets the first chance? I know he is a doctor and he isn’t supposed to kill people but you never know what someone is like in their personal time. I pulled the phone out of the box and turned it on. Once I had it turned it on, I started to finish setting it up the way I wanted it set up. There wasn’t much to do to set up the phone. It’s not like I had anything special on my phone or any particular numbers I wanted. Everyone who I used to be friends with I haven’t spoken with in a little while. I highly doubt that they would want to talk to me again. Jack had told me stories, which I now realize are lies, about what my friends were supposedly saying about me behind my back. These stories caused a lot of fights between me and my friends. One by one my friends started leaving me. My last two friends that I had got fed up with me because I kept making excuses as to why I can’t hang with them. Jack would let me go out with my friends every couple of days but then he would start telling me that I couldn’t go out with my friends because of this reason or another. Soon I went from seeing my friends every couple of days to every couple of weeks to once or twice a month. Then I just stopped seeing them all together. To say that I miss my friends is an understatement. I miss my friends so much! Maybe I can make some new friends one day hopefully. Once I had my phone set up the way I wanted it, I started dozing off again. Next thing I know I hear a knock at my door. I look at the clock and see that I have been asleep for about four hours. I tried to pull myself into a sitting position while yelling, “Come in!” The door opens up to show that it was Kaname outside of my door. He comes and starts checking my vitals. I give him an amused smile, “Are you even on the clock?” Kaname looks at me briefly before responding, “No” “Then why are you checking my vitals?”, I say, laughing at him. He gives me a small smile and says, “I guess it's a habit.” “How are my vitals?” “They are steady for the most part. How’s your pain right now?” Taking a moment I assessed what was hurting in my body and what wasn’t, “I don’t feel a whole lot of pain. Maybe a two on the pain scale.” “That's good! Let’s keep your pain at two or less. You are not due for more medication for a few more hours.” Kaname says with an authoritative tone. “Okay.”, I responded We stayed silent for a few minutes before he asked, “Have you thought about my offer?” “I have thought about it and I would like to accept your offer.” He looks at me, suddenly standing up, “Well in that case we will move you immediately. Your husband made another show but this time he brought the police. We are stalling the police by having them search clear all the way on the other side of the hospital.” “How long have they been here?”, I demanded. He answers, shrugging his shoulders, “Only for about twenty minutes or so.” “Okay so how do we get me out of here?”, I asked. Kaname is silent for a few minutes. Probably thinking of how we will get me out of the hospital without my ex and the police seeing me. “Do you trust me?”, he asked with a sly smile. “Um maybe.”, I said laughing nervously. He comes back over to the bed and says, “Here is what we will do. We will lay you down flat on the bed and cover you with a white sheet, as if you were dead. Then wheel you down to the morgue where we will transfer you into hearse. You will then ride in the hearse to the mansion.” I laughed at his idea and said, “What about a back up plan if your plan doesn’t work?” “That’s why we hope that everything goes to plan, otherwise we just think on the spot. Either way we will get you out.”, Kaname says confidently.
