My New Home.

Gabriel smiles big, “Next it's getting Luna out of here and to her new home.”

Just then three more fairly big guys come walking around the car. One of the guys looked fairly young. He had sandy blonde hair that was shaved in a military cut, with forest green eyes.

The other two guys were older and looked like twins. They both have pitch black hair with ocean blue eyes. The twin on the right has slightly longer hair that reaches just above his ears and the other twin has shorter hair that is buzzed.

“Finally you guys are here.”, Gabriels says to the guys who joined us.

He goes around the bed to greet the three men. Gabriel shakes each of their hands and brings them over to us.

“Luna, these men are here to help move you from the hospital bed to the bed that is in the back of the hearse.”, Gabriel stated, “Boys why don’t you introduce yourself to Luna.”

The youngest of the group came up to me with his hand out, “Hi, my name is Zach! It’s nice to meet you, even under these circumstances.”

“Nice to meet you Zach.”, I said, shaking his hand.

“The other two guys are Ryker and Xayden. They are more of the silent types.”, Zach stated.

I smiled at the other two, “Well being silent isn’t that bad. It just means they hear and see everything around them.”

The twin with the shorter hair gave me a small smile at my comment.

“Okay people let's get Luna in the vehicle. She may seem fine right now but that is only due to the adrenalin that is going through her right now.”, Paula says, “Who knows when the adrenalin will wear off and when it does she will be in a lot of pain. You guys have a long drive back to the mansion.”

I looked at Paula quizzically and asked, “You're not going with us?”

She looked at me apologetically, “No sweetheart, I am not. I need to stay here till the end of my shift to make sure your escape goes unnoticed.”

“That makes sense. Okay let’s do this!”, I said as bravely as I could, even though I was really nervous.

“Okay, here is the plan.”, Gabriel started explaining the plan, “ Paula you will move the bed so that Luna’s head is facing the back of the hearse. Then Zach and I will get in the hearse and each of us will grab a corner of the bedsheet. Xayden and Ryker will each grab a corner of the sheet at the foot of the bed. Once each of us have a corner I and Zach will pull Luna and Ryker and Xayden will help lift her into the car.”

“Sounds easy enough.”, stated Zach.

I nodded my head in agreement, “It does sound too easy.”

“Well if everyone is in agreement then let us get to it.”, Gabriel responded.

At that everybody started moving into their positions. Paula unhooked the cords I was connected to and spun the bed around so that the head of the bed was facing the back of the hearse. Zach and Gabriel jumped into the back of the hearse. Ryker and Xayden stood at the foot of the bed. Then they all grabbed the corners of the bed sheet.

“Luna this may hurt a bit.”, Gabriel said, “Ready guys? On three we will pick her up and slide her into the car.”

“Sounds good!”, Zach responded.

Xayden and Ryker nodded their heads in response.

“Okay, here we go. One.”, Gabriel started counting down.

“Two.”

Everybody prepared to pick me up.

“Three!”

All of a sudden I was jolted up off the bed and they slid me up into the hearse, onto the bed.

It took them all of thirty seconds to get me into the hearse. Once they had me on the bed Paula got in to reconnect all the cords and IVs that she had disconnected, which took all of a minute or so to do.

“Are you comfortable, Luna?”, Paula asked as soon as she got done.

I took a moment to take an assessment of how I am doing. My body feels sore from all the jostling from the bed into the car but else I felt pretty good.

I answered Paula’s question saying, “I am sore but else I feel alright for the moment.”

“So you will be due for medication by the time you get to the mansion. There will be a friend of mine, who is a nurse, that will be there waiting for you. Her name is Samantha., “Paula had notified me, “She will be getting you settled and any medication that you will be needing. Also some chicken broth for you to eat.”

I nodded my head in confirmation, “Sounds good to me. Can’t wait to meet yet another person.”

“Oh, my dear, you will be meeting many, many more people.”, She said to me, smiling.

She patted my hand and gave me one more big smile as she got up to exit the car.

Gabriel stood at the back of the car holding the door open, “It is going to be about a three hour drive, as I will be going the speed limit. Don’t want any police officers pulling us over.”

“Okay. Where will everyone be riding?”

“The silent twins will be riding back here with you, so chattering monkey here won't keep you awake. It’s best if you can sleep the way there.”, he said, “So Zach will be riding up front with me.”

“Works for me.”, I said, “I am feeling a bit tired anyways, so falling asleep on the ride would be good.”

Ryker and Xander got into the back of the car, each sitting on either side of me. Ryker bent over to buckle the straps on the bed over me. Xander was on his hands and knees, I am guessing, checking that the bed was locked into place. Then I heard both front doors open up and the last two men got in.

I lay my head back to begin to relax on this journey, as I heard the car start.

The car starts moving and I begin to relax more. I can’t believe that I made it out of the hospital before Jack could find me. I am finally going to be free from him.

I can live my life how I want without the worry of doing something wrong or stepping on eggshells. Well of course after I heal up. I hope to get healed up soon so I can get back on my feet and work off the debt that I owe Kaname for helping me.

This doesn’t feel real. I feel like I could wake up from this dream any minute and be back in the house with Jack again. I don’t think I could handle my life anymore if this was a dream. I can’t do another day in fear.

With my right arm lying next to my body, I slightly pinched my thigh. Making sure that I was awake and not asleep.

It’s kinda funny how we pinch ourselves to see if we are asleep or not. How is pinching yourself a sure way of knowing if you are awake? Who even came up with this silly thing?

All of a sudden we came to a stop and my eyes flew open. I looked over at Xayden and he held his pointer finger up to his mouth, in a shushing motion.

He pointed to his ears then to the front of the car, as if to tell me to listen.

I focused my attention to the front of the vehicle where I can partially hear a conversation going on.

“...help you?”, I think I heard Gabriel speaking.

“Where are you going?”, A voice asked.

Gabriel responded, “We are taking this dead person to the funeral home.”

“Open the back end of the car, please.”

“Due to the religious wishes of the family I am not able to open the back end. Why are you needing to see back there?”

“We are looking for a woman who has run away from her husband. I need to check to make sure that she is not back there.”, said the voice.

“I am sorry but I can’t even open the back end, nor can I open the casket, as it is locked an the family member has the keys.”

A few seconds went by before the voice responded with, “You look like you would be a trustworthy guy, so I will trust that you are telling me the truth.”

Gabriel then had to ask, “What if I am not telling the truth? What would you do?”

The voice clears their throat and says, “Well I would have to arrest you and take you to jail for harboring a runaway.”

“I guess it’s a good thing that I am telling the truth.”, Gabriel laughs

“I guess it is.”

“If everything is alright I need to head on and get this poor soul delivered to the funeral home.”, Gabriel said, getting all serious again.

“Yes, you can head out. Be safe driving out there.”, responded the voice.

“Yes, Sir.”

A few seconds later the car starts moving again and I start to relax. That was close, I thought.

Gabriel yelled back, “We are all clear!”

After he said that, I began to really relax and felt how tense my muscles were. Soon I began to feel really tired, so I closed my eyes for a bit.
