Chapter 2: THE CONTRACT THAT BINDS US

The sun had already risen when I arrived at the luxurious front gate of the unknown billionaire's mansion.
The assistant came out to help me with my bag after saying, “ Mr. King is expecting you in his office. This way”. I followed him tentatively, ready to run out at any point in time.
My unsure footsteps echoed loudly in the royally tiled mansion as we walked in the direction of his office. I did not know what to expect.
What if he was ugly or wicked or even worse, bald and old?
Standing in front of the office, the assistant, Mr Grant, gestured for me to enter first, which I did.
“ Take Miss Hart's belongings to the room next to mine." The tall man standing in front of the glass window commanded with a deep voice.
The same voice that bought me. Xavier King. The notorious billionaire.
I almost lost my balance when he turned slowly and looked at me. He had an impeccable body. His eyes are a penetrating gray color and his mouth was placed in a firm line.
He looks indestructible in his dark suit. He looks like a predator, and he looks at me like I am his newest prey. His gray eyes held no emotion, yet so attractive.
I stood against the closed door and struggled to align my breathing when the handsome man walked towards me in confident strides.
“ You look scared." He spoke, standing eye to eye with me. A strand of his dark hair fell into his eyes and my fingers itched to feel its softness and placed it back in its position.
I felt little compared to him and his cologne made it even worse to concentrate on my environment.
“ Answer me, Ariel”. My name on his lips sounds alluring, and I debated if I hated him or would love to have his eyes on me permanently.
“ You did not ask a question." I retorted. He looked taken back as if he was not expecting me to have a sharp mouth.
His gaze dropped to my pink lips and he backed off immediately, as if he had been burned just by looking at me.
He truly is confusing. And I had just met him.
“ You bought my virginity”. I started as I moved to sit on the couch in his luxurious office.
He leaned against the wall, his thick arms crossed against his hard chest. The man was built by God himself. No sign of imperfections in place.
“ I bought your entire body, Ariel. Don't take me for a fool”.
“ It is just a one time thing and I am gone”. I stated to reassure myself.
“ I say you are gone when I am done with you, Ariel. You do not tell me what to do. No one does”.
I could feel the hatred mixing with the attraction I felt for this man and I narrowed my eyes at him.
“ That is what the contract says”.
“ And I say when the contract is over. Do you understand?!”. He yelled and I rolled my eyes at him.
With a single stride he stood in front of me, his veiny hands wrapped around my neck softly and my eyes widened involuntarily. My lips parted in shock and utter surprise.
“ Do not ever roll your eyes at me again, Ariel Hart”. He commanded and I nodded my head hurriedly, terrified by the cold billionaire who appeared to hate me.
He dropped his hands and walked to the table. I had no choice but to shut my mouth and watch him. For now.
Xavier pulled out a file from his locker and dropped it hard on the desk, his face etched with a permanent frown.
He gestured with his fingers. “ Come”.
I stood up and walked over to him as he opened the file and slid it over to me.
“ I have prepared a contract of my own. Read through it and sign where appropriate”.
I opened up the file while he spoke, “ You are required to stay under this roof for two months. During which you must give your virginity to me”.
I snapped my eyes up to look at him. “ Why would you like to take the virginity of a woman you do not know anyways?”.
“ Oh, I do know you”. I thought he said under his breath but he had said nothing.
“ What did you say?”.
“ What did you hear, Ariel?”.
What a manipulative piece of junk this man is!
“ You are nothing but a piece of charity. Do not ever ask me that question again”. He said and walked out.
I took a deep breath as I banged my head on the hard wood in frustration. My eyes skimmed over the material until I found several classes that gave my heart a pause.
If you wish to receive your full payment, you must agree to the following:
Two months under my roof.
Absolute confidentiality.
Intimacy deadlines.
Attend social and public events with me.
Pretend to be romantically involved for these two months.
Financial penalties would be taken.
I glared hard at the last three classes.
Pretend to be romantically involved with him in public for two whole months?!
I stood up angrily, the contract in my hand and walked out of the office in search of Xavier King.
I find him twirling a glass of red wine in his hands inside the living room, legs crossed over each other.
He looked intimidating but I refused to be intimidated.
“ This is outright cheating!”. I exclaimed. His eyes shot to me. “ If you want to get yourself a fake girlfriend, then you have the money. Go ahead but that is not part of the contract that I am signing with you”.
He leaned even further into his seat and I glared at his ridiculously handsome face.
“ Then walk out”. He simply stated.
I furrowed my brows in confusion. “ What?”.
“ If you do not want to do this, then walk out”. He repeated again with a voice dripping with tension, his stares hard and long on my body.
“ You do not want to dare me, Xavier”.
With that, he stood up and stalked over to me. My back hit the wall as I tried to back away from his predatory stance. My eyes flutter under his watch.
“ If you walk out of this door, Ariel, you must pay back every penny that I have given as a half payment, the money I paid to your mother's hospital for her treatment”.
Wait, what?
When did he do that?
My shoulders dropped out of fear and I tried to cower away from him but his voice whispered into my hearing one more threat.
“ And if you walk out this door, Ariel Hart, prepare to meet me in court for breaking the contract”. His dangerous voice bleeds into my soul.
“ And I will destroy you, Ariel”.
Then his phone rang.
