Morpheus POV Amethyst and I have talked a lot since the first day we met. I mustarded up the courage to ask her on a date after if I clarified she actually likes my existence or now. If she had said no I probably would have dug a hole, laid in it and then covered myself with dirt so thank the goddess she didn’t. I've learnt so much about her over the past few days. Every time we talk everything just seems to flow naturally and it’s like we’ve known each other for years. The thing is though; I have no idea what to do for this date. This isn't just some girl, this is my mate, the person who I plan on spending the rest of my life with and our first date has to be perfect. I taped Alexis on the shoulder and she turned to me with a goofy smile on her face. Amethyst had told me about her best friend, how she was insane and how they knew everything about each other. Crazy stories about stuff they’ve done together, like the time that they pranked a teacher by gluing a wig to his head since he was bald and doing his makeup and posting it on **. "You want to know what to do for the date huh?" She questioned me, wiggling her eyebrows at me. "Well I'm Alexis” she introduced herself as we walked outside onto the quad and sat on the bleachers. I chuckled nodding my head and running my fingers through my hair. “Yeah I know, she’s told me a lot about you” Alexis squinted her eyes at me with a pout. “If she told you that I’m crazy she lied. I am completely sane and there isn’t a crazy bone in my body” she folded her arms across her chest and even if I didn’t know her that well, I knew she was lying and I’m sure she knew it to. "Anyways…” she trailed off, rolling her eyes. “Amethyst loves art. She loves to draw and paint and sketch" I nodded. It was the first thing I learned about her, she had this notebook filled with drawings and doodles. "She’s a simple girl. She doesn't believe in giving roses and dinner dates. All that stuff is just too much for her. You have to take her somewhere she can be herself. She likes places she can draw and admire the things around her so that's a start" it made me happy to know that Amethyst had friends who knew her so well and who she was close to, even if they were kind of crazy. "Thanks Alexis" I gave her a high five and she smiled. "Anytime! I'm the Amethyst expert" she boasted, flipping her hair over her shoulder before getting up. I saw her run into the arms of a guy on the football field when the perfect idea hit me. I rushed down the steps, almost falling on my face running across the quad to the left wing of the school going through the back entrance. I tripped into the art room falling on my ass; luckily my girl was the only one there to laugh at me. "You just bust in the door to fall on your ass? Or To see me?" She laughed and it was like music to my ears. "It's about our date" I spoke and she tensed. "You have to cancel? If that's it then it's alright" her voice wavered between the sentence, like she was going to cry and it broke my heart yes; but it made me a little happy she was getting attached to me. "No that's not it! The date is still on! I just wanted you to know the details because there are a lot" she peeked up as I said that a smile grazing her face as she listened to what I explained, humming ever so often for me to know she heard all while she continued painting. "So that's it, you get it right" I finished and she nodded. "I'll ask my mom" she replied getting up and stretching my eyes racked up and down her body. She was a curvy girl and I loved it. She didn't have a flat stomach; she has this cute muffin top that looks really soft. She wore shorts today so you could see her smooth legs and thick thigh, as she stretched her t-shirt rode up and I caught a glimpse of some stretch marks. Perfectly imperfect. She rubbed her eyes motioning for me to come over. "What do you think?" she turned her easel around showcasing what she’d made. My haw dropped at the oil painting in front of me. The canvas was covered in black and white in the outline of a woman’s figure. There was shadowing and so much texture and it seemed like so realistic it was unreal. This deserved to be in an art gallery. "It's for midterms. The theme we were given was ‘woman’. This is how I interpreted it. A woman can be beautiful and pure yes, which is represented by the white but on the other hand she can be dark and dangerous which is represented by the black and I chose a women’s figure because the body is just as strong as the mind” Was this girl even real? Caring, smart, beautiful, kind. She would make the best Luna. "It's beautiful Jewel" she raised an eyebrow at me she sure dies do that a lot. "Jewel?" She started packing her things and I nodded. “Because you're my little treasured jewel" I cupped her cheek, brushing some of her hair out of her face and she blushed, moving away from me to pack her things. "Oh that makes sense" I hitched her bag on my shoulders, taking her hand in mine and she obliged holding it back. She locked the art room door before shoving her free hand in her pocket. “Do you want me to drop you home?” she nodded as we reached outside the school. School had ended a while ago, so the parking lot was empty except for a few teachers’ cars here and there. The entire drive was in comfortable silence, with the radio filling the air with soft music. She only spoke to give me directions and we pulled up in front a simple two story house with a metal fence and gate in front. "See you tomorrow" she leaned over kissing my cheek before getting out the car. I watched her disappear behind her front door when Theseus spoke. 'Tomorrow is guaranteed to be the best day ever' I couldn't agree more. I barely got any sleep that night. I laid awake thinking about Amethyst, excited about tomorrow, hoping that she would like what I had, had planned. I didn’t want to do too much because like Alexis said she doesn’t like extra things but I had to make this really special. Saturday morning even though I only got three hours sleep by seven o'clock I was ready and my bags were packed. Michael my beta was in charge while I'm away. I was strolling down the stairs when I heard sniffling. I peeked into the kitchen and saw Jesse. She was surrounded by tissues, mascara coated her cheeks and under her eyes and tears streamed down her face. Despite the fact that she was my ex, she was still one of my best friends so I rushed over to her. "Jess what's wrong? Why are you crying?" I questioned in panic, grabbing her arms gently and searching to see if she was hurt in anyway. She looked up at me, her dark brown eyes locking with my dark blue ones and broke down, making me engulf her in a hug. "Tell me what's wrong…” I rubbed soothing circles on her back as she cried into my shoulder, then she just shoved me away. Her eyes were filled with anger and hatred and her harsh voice sounded through the air. "You found your mate that's what's wrong! I love you. You choose her over me. I was here first and you choose her over me. You probably already love her and have totally forgotten about me! It hurts Morpheus, every single time I see you with her there's an ache in my chest and it just hurts" she screamed at me, banging on my chest and I stood there shocked. “I was here before her! I’ve known you since you were a kid and she just f*****g waltz in and took you away from me” her eyes switched from dark brown to black, meaning her wolf was beginning to take control. She wrapped her arms around herself before turning on her heels and running away and up the stairs. I contemplated going after her. She just confessed her love for me, but she wasn’t the person I was destined to be with. It also didn’t change the fact that we’d been together before and it didn’t turn out very well and I highly doubt that it will if we try again. Would it work if we tried again? 'Get that thought out of your f*****g head right now! Jessica isn’t our one and only. She isn’t our other half so there will be no trying to get back with anyone!' Theseus sneered at me and I chuckled. It was a crazy thought anyway. Today was for Amethyst and I, all problems left behind. I glanced up the stairs one last time with a sigh before leaving. She’d be fine. I parked in front of Amethyst's house just in time to see her give a beautiful woman a hug, at least now I know where she gets her looks from. "Good Morning Morph" she leaned over kissing my cheek while I leaned on the side of the car, examining her outfit. She really did wear something comfortable, just like I had told her. She had on a simple white lacy romper with those gladiator sandals. I think that’s what their called, her face completely bare of makeup as usual and her cute nerdy glasses that she actually needed to see rested on the bridge of her nose. "Good Morning Jewel. Are you ready for today's adventure?" I took her hands in mine. They were soft and smooth and they fit perfectly in my own. "Yes sir" she giggled and I couldn’t help the smile that spread on my face. I opened her door for her, like a true gentleman and she stepped inside allowing me to close it behind her before jogging to my side, getting in and starting the engine. Is it bad that Jesse was still swirling around my mind? Her tears stained face was locked in my head.
