ELISSA Having left the pack house with no one in my mind to help me, I was a discarded luna wolf among humans, in her third week of pregnancy. Who would have thought that was how the moon goddess planned my life to be? If I had known things would end this way, I would have rejected him when my wolf Leah told me to. I guess I was blinded by the belief of what my mum told me. Finding a mate is finding a good thing and happiness will definitely come with it. “Well mum, I am not happy and I am far from being happy,” I said out loud to no one in particular. Passers-by were looking at me like someone who has gone insane, who needs help. Who wouldn't, when a girl was standing by the walkway yelling and speaking to herself. I would be labeled as a mad person by humans. Thanks to my workplace, I have learned a lot about how to associate and act as humans so as not to be confused as a weird being. "Enough thinking Elissa, it will be night soon. Let's get a comfortable place to rest our heads tonight. Tomorrow we go house hunting and also get a new job. I hope they will be willing to accept someone in our condition," Leah said. With my load in my hands, I walked over to a hotel to book a room for two nights. Incase house haunting was unsuccessful, but it seems the moon goddess hasn't forgotten about me so quickly. Besides the entrance of the hotel, I saw a house accommodation with a cheaper rate and I smiled. 'This will be a nice little place to start with,' I said to myself. We should give the number a call when we have settled down. I walked up to the receptionist and soon I was heading to my room with the hotel keys in my hand alongside the poster of the apartment and my load. Once inside, I fell on the bed completely exhausted and tired. In times like this at the pack, I would have the omegas run me a bath and have a full body massage with dinner right beside me. I guess those luxuries were gone for good. Time to start a new life has just begun. I took out my phone to call the number on the poster, praying silently the apartment was still vacant and I would be able to acquire it. With the third ring of the phone, a lady picked up “Hello.” “Hello, good evening. Please, I'm calling to make an inquiry about an apartment at 6 Boston Way. I saw the poster and I wanted to find out if the apartment was still vacant or if it had been collected by someone else?``I asked the lady at the other end of the call. “ It is very much available.” the lady replied. “Good I will be coming to check it by tomorrow, thank you, ma'am,” I said, before ending the call, I quickly took a warm bath, set my alarm, and went to bed. ******** It was 6am when my alarm clock jolted me up from my sleep. Stretching forward, I slammed hard on the clock before slowly getting up from the bed. “Rody, it's 6am. You should go get ready for today, your people need you.” I said, trying to wake my mate up. It was when my hand fell on an emptied bed that hit me hard that I was no longer mated to him and we had broken our mating bond. Right now, I was a single woman with a child growing in her womb and I laughed at myself. I finally was able to get up from the bed and went straight to the bathroom to get ready so that I could meet the lady for the apartment. Our arrangement was 7am. With the full details, she sent an SMS to my phone. Dressed in a big flowing gown, I hurried out of the hotel room and I gave the taxi driver the location, and he drove off. When we got to the location, I handed him his payment, alighted from the vehicle and he drove off. The neighborhood was a little too busy for me, with movements of cars and people, noises could be heard from different houses, kids were everywhere playing and having fun. This could be a perfect place for my pup to grow up, I told myself. “Now I see why this place is still empty,” I said to the lady as I scanned through the apartment. The apartment wasn't what I was expecting. It had a leaking roof, and the paintings were peeling off. The apartments needed a lot of makeover before they could be called fit for a human to live in. “This is the cheapest apartment you can ever see. I will cut the payment into two halves, since you have to maintain this place.” The lady said to me. “Fair enough, can I ask you where I can get a carpenter, plumber, electrician, and a painter?” I asked her. “I can write their numbers for you.” She replied. “Sure that would be helpful to me,” I said. Soon we were signing the contract for the apartments. When she was gone, I started calling the numbers that she gave me. Not quite long after, work began on the house. I was going to renovate everything to my taste. I was given a notice that the work would be completed within a week. I started my search for a job until I saw one at a convenience store, where provisions and other things were sold. I don't mind starting from a little place before getting a bigger job. Everything was finalized by the owner of the store and me. I was told to start working by 8am the next day. Everything was working for my good. I got a job and a house on the same day. I got to understand that the moon goddess was trying to put a smile on my face. One good turn deserves another chance. At exactly 8am, I arrived at the convenience store with a smile on my face, greeting my new boss. The lady was kind enough to show me around and gradually taught me so many things since it was my first time working in a store. No matter my flaws, she never yelled or lashed out at me, she was kind till the end of the day. She made me wonder if nice humans like this ever existed. My former workplace wasn't anything close to perfect, as the humans there were very rude, making me hate humans, but my new boss, with her perfection and calmness, has changed that perspective. She wore a smile that made everything seem unique. Soon the house will be complete and it will be close to my workplace and soon everything will become perfect again. I could be happy again.
