Two mates?

Chapter four. "Hello, hey..." Amaya called out quite exhausted to a young girl that walked in front of her, with a yellow container on her head. "Hey, excuse me." She yelled this time as she jogged behind her. The little girl spun around to face her. Amaya stood mouth agape when she noticed the girl's small pale green eyes, and her long beautiful hair that flew flawlessly on her sides. She wore a white fishtail gown. "Who are you and how may I help you?" The girl held a skeptical gaze. She eyed Amaya from the head down, but not in a derogatory way. They were not allowed to talk to strangers and from the looks of it, Amaya didn't seem to be like one of them. I mean, she had never seen a girl with all-white hair and emerald-green eyes. "Umm..." Amaya frantically gazes around. Hoping that she wasn't going to sound suspicious. All she needed was directions to get into Alpha Tobias' residence. "I'm called Aiko and I'm here for the coronation that is happening at the pack today, but I don't know my way around." She fidgeted with her fingers, a sad expression on her face. She wanted to sound as convincing as possible. "You should know your way around if you're from this pack." The girl rolled her eyes. "Well, I'm not exactly from this pack. I'm from the Nightfall pack. I was invited by a friend. I had tried to communicate with her, but she seemed to be busy." The little girl had no choice, but to believe her. "Follow me then." The girl spun around and started to walk. Thank Goodness! Amaya breathed a sigh of relief as she walked quietly behind the girl. Her eyes pictured everything she could find around. They walked past several houses, most of which were under large trees, some had trees in the courtyard, providing enough shade. From what she had seen so far, the entire pack seemed to have a certain layout. Clean and tarred roads with trees on either side of the road. "Here we are. But I'm not supposed to pass through the main gate. I'm just a slave here and I work in the maze, quite far from the pack house. I was allowed out today because it is a big day and there is a lot of work to do." Amaya stopped next to the girl. The sadness in the girl's voice was evident. What exactly was Alpha Tobias doing with people in his pack? She had many questions to ask the little girl but she had other important things to handle. "I will go with you through the maze." The girl nodded. They rounded the gate. Soon, they were in front of a big flower maze that had different entrances. "I keep telling you. This isn't proper." Ena whimpered in Amaya's head. Amaya rubbed her neck, not in the mood to argue with her wolf. "The occasion should have started now." The little girl told Amaya whose eyes were now focused to the side where a group of people were chattering with wine glasses in their hands. "Thanks." She made her way in that direction. She climbed a small stepway and was finally in the pack house. It was crowded. People standing in the courtyard in the little quorum. As expected, there was a big tall tree at the center of the courtyard. Below it was a white canopy. There were four different buildings surrounding the courtyard. *** "The pack would riot if they find out about your son's state." Tobias stopped below the stairs and looked up at his brother who was right behind him "He is still my son, David. This is his right " Deep down, Tobias knew his brother was right. But he was left with no choice. He thought that with time, his son would finally grow some balls and become a man, but that never happened. "You could still do something. " David announced. The was no way his son could rule the pack. Tobias wasn't even doing that for his son but for the sake of saving his name. "I wish I could, but you and the elders gave me no option. You all kept pressurizing me..." Tobias snarled. "What exactly do you want me to do at this moment?" He questioned almost in anger. "My son could..." "Everyone is waiting, Alpha." David was caught off by a guard who walked in. They both went outside without a word to each other. Amaya pushed herself through the crowd. She wanted to go ahead and have a look at the man who had destroyed her entire existence and left her with nothing. The man who had taken her family away from her but was here today, having a joyous occasion to celebrate his. Something snapped in her when she thought about that. She pushed violently through the crowd, not caring if she pushed someone down or not. She was about to take another step when she felt the hair behind her neck stand erect. An odd feeling settled within her. She braced herself as she tried to figure out what was happening "Something strange," Ena whispered, searching through Amaya's eye. Under the canopy, was Tobias sitting to the left, his son in the middle, David to the left, and another boy to the right of David. "I will cut straight to the chase," Tobias said with a stern voice as he stood up. "We all know the reason we are here today." "To crowd that weakling he called a son." Someone whispered in the crowd, next to Amaya. She didn't know who this son was, but all she had heard about him was how he was a weakling. That could make her job even easier. "To crowd the next standing alpha..." Said Tobias without even glancing at the boy who held his head down like he was being suffocated; his long white hair held up in a high ponytail by a silver band. "He would be crowned today and he will take over me when I must have retired." Just the right words to say, Amaya thought. You have just little time to live. "How can a weakling be an alpha?" Someone shouted in the crowd. "I heard he doesn't even have a wolf." "How then can he protect the pack?" "He doesn't even have a mate at his age." The crowd became an uproar. Tobias stood under the canopy, his hands balled into fists, but he knew they were right. His son had brought nothing to him, but shame and hate from his pack members. He glared down at him. Hiro's head was down. "You have brought me nothing but shame. I should have killed you when you were born." He looked back at the crowd. "We know the situation of my son so, rather than Crowning him, Kazumi..." Tobias looked at the boy sitting after David. His shoulder-length hair was dyed thick blue and light blue at the edges. "Will be the next alpha till further notice." With that, he stomped away from the crowd, leaving them in alter confusion. "Well, a strong alpha is better." "His weak boy would have just let us all into trouble." "Tobias truly hates his son." "Are sure that he is even his son?" "How could he crowd Kazumi? I heard the boy is whore." "A hot whore." People kept whispering in the crowd. "Both boys are hot." A lady next to Amaya fanned herself. Amaya pushed through the crowd. She wanted to see who this son was. Who was this man that everyone talked down on him, even his father? Was he disabled? She wondered as she took steps ahead. Again, she stopped when that odd feeling from earlier settled in. Only this time, it was accompanied by a sweet and unexplainable scent. The smell of earth when it rains mixed with freshly scented flowers during summer. "What is that scent?" Curiosity settled around Ena as she sniffed around. Amaya stopped when she finally came face to face with the canopy. Ena stumbled back in Amaya's head when she saw the two handsome figures staring deadly at each other under the canopy. "Could they be our..." "Shut up, Ena." Amaya scolded. She knew where she was driving to. After she had turned 18, without a mate, she knew there was nowhere for her. Aside from that she had no interest in finding one as it would only be a burden to her. But then, she could feel it. There was no denying that. She felt the connection, and so did her wolf. That bond, the mate bond. But there were two boys in front of her. "Which one of them could be our mate?" Ena pointed out in excitement as she jumped up and down. Amaya stood still. Her mind was not on what Ena was saying but on the figures in front of them. Hiro and Kazumi looked at each other without a word. Hiro turned to leave when his eyes met with Amaya's. "Isn't he more than cute? Tall to my liking, perfect pink lips, that muscular body." Edna quickly turned into a fan girl. Amaya too was lost staring at the beauty in front of her. Kenji was far from this. "Holy s**t!" Ena exclaimed. "What is that on his face?" Ena screamed when she saw the left side of Hiro's face. Amaya blinked her eyes in shock when she saw it too. One side of his face was perfectly fine while the other seemed as though it was forced into a blazing fire, leaving a Jagged scar. It looked fresh. Blood was evident on it. Without a word, Hiro turned on his heels and left. Sadness, all Amaya could see, was sadness in his eyes. Just then, Kazumi followed suit. Amaya stood confused. What was going on? Did she have two mates? If she did, not with Tobias' sons or relatives, not anyone from this pack.
