Chapter Fifty-NineAfter our argument came to a standstill with neither of us giving in, we reluctantly discussed the weave and how I'd implemented the ritual with Camilla, the steps I'd taken, how I'd powered the symbols, the aftereffect. Once done, I gave him both lists of agents and excused myself to bed, and went over everything we'd said, everything I'd said, and all I hadn't. Why didn't I tell him Remo was ready to move? That he was going to use me for something big? I stood, determined to let him know. The moment I touched the knob of my bedroom door, I realized I didn't know how to make this up to him. He was angry, yes, but it wasn't an anger I could soothe. So I returned to bed, where I'd lain, listening for Zantry's approaching footsteps. They never came, not while I was awake.
