Chapter ThirtyThe throne room was crawling with guards. Some were dressed in the Seelie colors–reds and greens and browns, some in grays and blues and whites. I presumed the latter was the color of the Unseelie Court. Not because of the color difference, but because the Unseelie guards didn't appear human. One even had a horn protruding from his forehead. Another had hooves, and yet another had a long, forked tail. The guards, both Seelie and Unseelie, stood at attention beside each entrance, as well as by each of the six arched windows–which hadn't been there during any of my visits. I wasn't sure if the increase in guards was due to my presence and the earlier attempt on my life, or the presence of the Unseelie entourage. Or both.
