Chapter ThirteenExplaining the portal to the group was like telling a horror story to a bunch of kids. Everyone was riveted, hanging on to every word I said, expressions ranging from disbelief to alarm and horror. There was a portal, a tear in the fabric of the Low Lands, the original one from which Remo had come from. That one was permanent, unmovable, and as I understood, contained. It had been formed when the sentient energy in the Quasar began to evolve. Their acts built pressure in the atmosphere, and the quasar started–leaking, if I used Remo's word. Remo, Zantry and Arianna had been the result of the expulsion, a means for the planet to alleviate some of the pressure without imploding. I had no idea where the original tear in the Low Lands was located, only that Remo referred to it
