Chapter 18: Riposte

* He had just appeared in the middle of the camp where the hostages were developing. Klamp had one knee on the ground and had been tested by what was in front of him. The pressure emanating from Midas made him unable to move and so did the others who aimed at him with their bows *.

-Low-level evos like you have a fragile body you should know that. * He said *.

-He calls Klamp low when he's one of our strongest guys? * Thought Kane *. No matter what this kid is dangerous you have to ....

* He tried to bend his bow but Midas gave him a murderous look which froze him. Gloria who had woken up a little found the young evo tight against her too terrified. She saw Midas across from Klamp who had one knee on the ground *.

-Midas? This pressure .... It's the same as when he came to save us in the cave.

* Klamp meanwhile gathered his courage and straightened up, now standing on his own two legs. Midas looked up to observe him *.

-I'm not ... Leave me .... Impressed by a kid.

* Holding his ax firmly he struck Midas but the blow seemed to go through him. At first surprised he gave another and several followed but they seemed to pass him through. The last blow stabbed the ax into the mountainside just behind a sharp rock that fell *.

* Klamp didn't understand but as soon as he heard her voice he immediately knelt down *.

* At the precise moment a gunshot rings out killing one of the evos. A second shot then a 3rd. The evos, until now frightened, came out of their torpor. The shot came from Chloe who had positioned herself in the distance with an assault rifle. She was shooting at the evos who were less on their guard *.

-You have phew reflexes if you don't know where the shot comes from .... * She said wrapping the trigger *. You are dead.

* The evos tried to hide but it was without counting on Louis appeared out of nowhere. He threw his Lance with all his might and she hooked up an evo then crossed it to finish her race in the 3rd. He picked up an ax which he used to kill some of them in panic. Sowing chaos in their ranks they did not see that some hostages recovered weapons. This c*****e turned into a general melee to the detriment of the attackers. Seeing this Kane tried to flee *.

-Don't let him escape. * Ordered Midas *.

-Of course...

* Louis leaped into the air and his ax struck Kane's, stopping him in his tracks. The two evos then exchanged several sharp blows through all the destroyed camp even certain caravans without plan of the two will not be able to take the ascendant *.

* Louis forced and pushed Kane back ten yards. The Raiders returned to the charge, but Louis threw the ax into the crane. Seeing her coming to slow down he managed to narrowly avoid her but stumbled against the leg of Louis who visualized broke. The latter recovered his weapon in mid-flight before severing the leg of his opponent who uttered a loud cry of pain *.

* On the main square all the raiders had been killed or captured. There was only Klamp left who was trying to get up *.

-I always considered that saving someone who was going to die anyway was a stupid idea. * told Midas *. That girl you hit I saved her not even a week ago. It would be silly if she died so soon, wouldn't it?

* He crouched down and grabbed Klamp by the hair *.

-Tell me friend ... Are you trying to make me look like an i***t?

* Klamp was sweating all over his body. It was the first time he had encountered such a presence. His whole being was screaming at him only one thing *.

* He saw the young evo who had started crying again through his fault. Midas put down the ax and hugged him *.

-Don't be scared kid, I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you. * He said, stroking her hair *.

- Big brother was scary. * He said crying *.

-I dream. * Thought Klamp *. He was in a Berserker state earlier I was really freaked out, but on close look he's just a normal human.

* Klamp crawled up to the ax but before he could grab it he felt a presence behind his back *.

* Gloria stuck an ax from the ground in his back. Klamp turned around, writhing in pain *.

* He saw the look she was giving him. The blonde had pointed her Uzi in his direction *.

* When finished she threw her weapon to the ground while blowing. At this point Louis arrived dragging Kane by his good leg. Chloe also stepped into the chair *.

* She almost collapsed with fatigue but Louis caught up with her *.

* The young girl manages to recover as best she can. She watched the inhabitants of the hamlet around her trying to put out the flames or treat their wounded. Some cried over the corpses *.

- Sure we all made it out. * Says Midas *.

-No not all. * Said Chloe *. Where are Clark and Siren?

* Several minutes before the assault on the hamlet the Raiders left their camp half empty. There were only a few evos left and most of the humans in the camp. The raiders were on guard patrolling the camp when one of them heard a noise in the forest. Trying to get a closer look an arrow lodged in his eye. The blonde leapt out of the bushes and rushed towards the building, twisting the blow of all its enemies. She busted the head of one and her son sang squirted on her but she remained perfectly calm. On the top floor of the building the leader of the Raiders was looking into the distance when he heard screams below. His men show off one by one. Siren was in an abnormal state of concentration, human as evos she parried their blows before slitting their heads with an ax. One of them was an arrow in her direction but she moved before the shot and swung her ax at him. The shock threw the evo out of the building and it crashed into the dead stiff ground *.

-Fragile is going.

* A man walked past her from behind and hit her on the head with the crowbar, but it broke. Siren turned and gave him a dark look. The man fell on his scared buttocks and stepped back *.

-No I didn't want I didn't want.

* Surely Siren ignored him. She picked up a machete from one of the bodies and went up to the next floor where screams were heard. The guy downstairs let out a sigh but heard footsteps on the stairs. He saw a man in a jacket come up and smoke a cigarette *.

-Oh .... She left one. Tch I hate the sloppy work. * He said, taking out his knife *.

-No wait pity pity.

* Upstairs Siren sliced through anything that came to her with killer calm and coolness. There was enough blood to fill a swimming pool. Most humans were frightened by this c*****e. Some were jumping upstairs to escape him. The last survivor crawled to the edge and looked down. The guys who had jumped were all dead, but when he turned around he saw the young girl who raised her machete which she threw in his direction *.

-Noooo.

* The weapon was stopped in the air. The guy opened his eyes and saw the chef who grabbed him. He folded the machete in half and threw it * away.

-You've done enough damage like that. * He said calmly *.

* Immediately she was surrounded by a group of evos all dressed as their leader *.

-Who are you? And what do you want? * He asked *.

-I think there is enough corpse here that I don't have to answer.

-If it's my face you want you should have come to me directly. Don't take it out on my men .... Simple humans.

- You are very presumptuous to believe that I want your head to you alone.

-And you are very presumptuous to believe that you can kill us all.

* One of the evos behind attacked. She dodged the blow and grabbed his arm before breaking it with a knee. A blow of the ax tore a lock of hair from her but she replied by breaking the neck of her opponent. Now at 6 against 1 she moved through the building, avoiding arrows and throwing axes. Some blows passed very close to her head but she managed to avoid everything. She ended up being surrounded and her enemies attacked at the same time *.

-You are finished.

* Calm first she closed her eyes, then she deflected each of the blows meant to kill her while remaining in her position. When she opened her eyes the deflected blows had blessed the evos between them *.
