“I’m done for the day,” Nathan announced. He scrawled his signature in the logbook for the hospital’s medical staff and professionals, officially signing out. The receptionist nodded as she took the book from him. Just as he was about to leave, the hospital manager, Mr. Shane, strolled past. He stopped by the counter, his gaze settling on Nathan. “If it isn’t the hot cake of the hospital,” he remarked with a sly smile. “Aren’t you proud of yourself?” Nathan paused, confused.
