“Who are you going to the Winter Formal with?” Gretchen asks Charli who looks over at her friend conspicuously. “It’s Marcus, isn’t it?” She teases Charli who rolls her eyes. “Yes.” Charli confesses knowing Gretchen will most likely never let her live it down. “I’m just glad you're going, I’m sorry about Ryland . . .” Gretchen starts, and Charli just shakes her head not wanting to talk about it.
“Well did you hear he broke his arm; I heard his kind was supposed to heal like super quick, but it must've been pretty serious because he’s still in a cast.” Gretchen tells her in an amused tone and Charli gives her a little grin. “I don’t wish for his early demise.” Charlie tells her, making Gretchen laugh, “well I do.” She tells her friend half teasing half serious.
