Thirty Five

1398 Words

“Dad!” Charli calls out as she enters her home with Marcus in tow, but it doesn’t seem as if anyone is home. She takes a moment to call him, but his phone rings a few times, then goes straight to voicemail, so she sends a text letting him know she’s home before slipping her phone back inside her pocket. “So, what do you want to do now? Are you hungry? Or I could show you around.” she tells Marcus, who flops down on the couch. “I would like to lie down for a minute . . . My back is aching after jumping out of a window, then sitting on my ass for three and a half hours.” He complains and Charli just stares at him unamused by his grumbling. “Oh, I know! We could go to the silver moon spa; I’ll get you a massage so you can shut the F up.” Charli says sarcastically, making Marcus chuckle.
