“Arli . . . . . you promised me!” Gretchen whines following Charli over to the table, where she puts down her heavy bag. “I have so much work to do though!” Charli complains, she has been bombarded with work since starting her new classes and she is both overwhelmed and exhausted. “And that's even more of a reason to take a break. Please go to the ice cream social with me!” Gretchen pleads and Charli gives in to her insistent roommate. “Fine, but you have to help me with homework until it's time to go.” Charli barters and Gretchen taps a finger on her lips thinking, “what kind of homework?” She asks Charli skeptically. “Math.” Charli tells her sliding over a packet and Gretchen looks it over for a minute. “I’ll do the first page.” “Done!” Charli says in a hurry, not expecting Gretch
