Chapter 35 - Final Days
Dominic made the dreaded phone call to his family to notify them of the prognosis of his condition. His mother could be heard wailing and cursing the heavens from where I sat. Dom's family also broke the news to him that his grandfather just passed away the day prior. This was a challenging time for everyone. Dom must have been very close to his grandfather; he requested some privacy to discuss things with his parents in the bedroom. I'm sure he didn't want me to see him cry. Lord knows I've done a lot of that since what has come to light. I had to go into work today since Momma had been doing what she could to keep up with the demand, but we had a large catering event this afternoon at the hospital where Mariah and Lucy worked, so I had to go in and help prepare for everything.
