Chapter 7 - Instant Attraction

1735 Words
Dominic's POV I turn to follow her as she rushes to grab her purse behind the bar, "Security Guard? Why haven't I seen you here before now? It's closing time?" she asks.  "Yes, Miss. The owner asked me to come by and check on you when you close the bar tonight. That is why I have a key." I respond as I hold it up once more to show her.  "So you heard me singing the whole time, huh?" she asks as she anxiously runs her fingers through her silky blonde mane.  "Ahhh, miss, please do not be shy. You were stunning. I could not take my eyes off you." I tell her as I slowly approach her.  She places her purse across her shoulder and anxiously fidgets where she stands, "It's just that nobody has ever heard me sing before but maybe three people." She quietly mumbles.  I shake my head from side to side, "Well, that is a shame; I enjoyed it very much." I respond as I creep towards the bar where she stands so that I may get a closer look into her beautiful blue eyes. She is absolutely breath-taking, "What's your name, Miss?" I ask.  She clears her throat, "It's Maggie Hudson."  I sit directly at the barstool in front of the bar, "Why are you so sad, Maggie?" Tears begin to well in her eyes, "Well, my Grandmother just passed away yesterday. I used to play that song for her at her house on the piano; I would also sing for her. It was one of her favorite songs." I put my head down. "Ahh... I am so sorry for your loss, Maggie." She shrugs and wipes the tears away with her index finger, "Well, you know... these things happen. She lived a good life. Better than most, I would imagine. Anyway...I'll hurry up and clock out so we can leave and lock up. I don't mean to keep you."  She scurries past me and down the hallway, "No, Maggie...I..." I begin to respond before she quickly disappears around the corner, down the hallway. I quickly jump up to follow, watching her long blonde hair cascade down to the middle of her back, and admiring how amazing her curves are. I can't help but watch as she sways her hips ever so slightly as she turns the corner to the breakroom to clock out. I lean against the wall and patiently wait outside in the hallway until she comes out.  As she strolls out and passes me, she pulls her hair to the side revealing her neckline and shoulders before walking down the hallway. While following her back toward the bar, I imagine leaving a trail of kisses down her neck. Her skin is so luminous I could run my lips down every inch of her body. She spins around to face me as she approaches the front door. It's either cold in here to her, or my presence impacts her body. Her n*****s stand at attention through her cut-off shirt, and I flash her a cheeky grin, "Okay, I'm ready, Dominic." She stutters.  I nod, but I'm frozen in place, and I can't take my eyes off her. She notices that I'm staring hard at her chest and quickly crosses her arms in an attempt to cover them as she bites her lip. I swallow hard,  "I will wa..wa..walk you out, Maggie." She turns and exits the front door; I follow her, locking the door on the way out. I stay back and admire how the wind whips her beautiful long mane around as she walks towards her car. I'm obviously obsessed with her hair... I love blondes...especially ones as beautiful as she is. Once she approaches the car, she opens the door and turns around to face me, "Ummm... would you mind not telling anyone what you saw me do here?" I sigh audibly, "I won't say anything." I respond.  She smiles as she hops into the car and shuts the door. As she starts the car, she rolls down her window, "Goodnight, Dominic." She says as she flashes a warm smile.  "Goodnight, sweet Maggie," I respond.  Her cheeks flush, and she puts her car in drive and takes off out of the parking lot.  I watch as she speeds off down the road, smiling ear to ear before strutting over to my bike. I quickly hop on and take off towards my apartment.   Maggie's POV I glance at the rearview mirror to find him standing there, watching me drive away. Oh, my God! I am literally shaking! My armpits are sweating! That is the most gorgeous man I've ever laid eyes on. Wow! Lord, my panties are soaked! Sheewww! I reach up to fan myself with my hand. God, that's not working; I need to turn the air conditioner on. I reach down and turn the nozzle on full blast. I can't help but fantasize about him. His eyes are the most beautiful color blue I've ever seen...his black hair...his mustache...his goatee...his olive skin....his tall, muscular frame... straight out of a GQ magazine. I have a suspicion that I will fantasize about this man for the rest of my life, count on it! I'm in a daze on the way home, and I'm still shaken as I pull up and park in front of the house. I notice the lights are all off, so I quietly enter the house not to wake Momma up. Suddenly, I'm startled as I hear a dog barking.  s**t! We don't have a dog; where did it come from?  I scan the room and notice a crate in the corner of the living room. I tiptoe over to find a tiny little white fluffy dog barking at me and shaking like a leaf, "Awww, it's okay. Who are you, little one?" I ask as I open the cage and put my hand in for it to sniff me, "Shhhh, it's okay, pretty baby. Come to me." I say quietly.  The dog slowly comes out of the cage before laying down and whimpering. I gently pick it up and hold it close to my chest. I spin around as I hear footsteps coming down the hall behind me, "Hey, darlin. I see you met Chloe," Momma says as she approaches me.  "Yes, I did. Chloe? Where did she come from?" I ask as I gently pet her back.  "It's Gran's dog. She just got her apparently a couple of days ago. I didn't even know she had her since I've been off a couple of days." She says.  "Aww... she is so sweet, Momma," I tell her as Chloe licks my chin.  She giggles, "Yes, and she's potty trained, and crate trained too. So, I decided I'd bring her home with us instead of finding someone to take her. She's a good little dog."   "I think so too. What breed is she?"  She shrugs, "She's some kind of poodle mix I don't know."  "Awww, Chloe," I say aloud as she licks my nose.  Momma flashes a warm smile, "Would you like some tea? I can't sleep." She asks.  "Sure, I'm bringing the new fluff nugget with me, though."  "Well, alright, then." I follow her into the kitchen, sit down with Chloe in my lap at the table and begin stroking the fur across her back, "Earl will get a kick out of this once he gets back from his route." I tell her. She spins around from the kitchen counter, "He knows. I called him and told him." She says.  "Ahh! That's good. She smells so sweet. Did Gran have her groomed recently?" I ask.  "She probably did, darlin," She responds as she makes us each a cup of tea. I hold Chloe close to me and kiss the top of her head. She doesn't budge; she's such a cute and tiny little lap dog, "So, how was your night?" she asks as she sets the cup of tea down in front of me and plops down at the chair next to me. "It was fine, I guess. I broke up with Nate, though." I say quietly.  She sips her tea and gazes up at me. "Oh?" she asks curiously.  "Yes, I..." I begin to say.  "I know, dear... he's not the one." She interrupts.  I exhale audibly, "No...he's not. He's far from it." "I could see that lately. He's hardly been around." I shrug, "It's for the best; trust me." I respond.  She nods as she takes a sip of her tea, "Whatever makes you happy, sug."  I clear my throat, "So, I stayed over to play the piano and sing tonight. The new security guard busted me. It was so embarrassing. I didn't even know they hired another one." She chuckles, "Well, Is he at least handsome? What's his name?" She asks curiously.  "God, yes. His name is Dominic. Momma, he is FINE!" I tell her as I fan my face.  She smiles and rests her chin on her hands, "What's he like?" she asks.  "God, help me. He has an accent. I think he's Italian." She repositions in her seat and laughs aloud, "Oh my. Italian, huh?" I pull my hand up to my mouth and kiss the tips of my fingers,  "Italian!"  The two of us roar with laughter, "Well, my girl, have fun and live your life. You work too much; you always have. It's time you focused on what makes you happy. Don't worry about trying to make others happy. You are a people pleaser, dear." She says.  "Yeah, I'm starting to see that. It's why I broke up with Nate. There's no chance we are getting back together. I'm done, Momma." She takes a sip of her tea, "Well, it's best you figure that out now."  I shrug my shoulders and exhale audibly, "I'm kind of tired. Maybe I'll put Chloe outside to pee and then head to bed." I tell her.  "Alright, dear. I'm going to try to get some sleep. I have to work tomorrow." she responds.  "Oh, wow! You are going to be so tired."  "Nahhh, I'll be fine." She says.  I get up from the table to let Chloe outside. When she's done peeing, I put her in her cage and walk back to my bedroom to get myself ready for bed. Before long, I fall into a deep sleep.
