Chapter 19 - Hurt Feelings

2193 Words
A FEW DAYS LATER...  I am awakened almost instantly as Dom's fingers move across my abdomen from behind before moving in to spoon me. I can feel how aroused he is as he grinds into my thigh before leaving a trail of kisses down my neck, "Good Morning, Bella." he whispers as he gently nibbles on my ear.  I belt out a soft pitch moan, "Mmmm... Good morning Dom." He moves his hand across my hip down to my backside before quickly inserting his index and middle finger into my core, "Ahhh! Mmmm.." I cry out in pleasure as he works his magic with his long slender fingers rubbing the inner walls of my p***y. He has full control over my body at this moment, and he knows exactly what it takes to please me.  "You are ready for me, Bella," he whispers into my ear.  He removes his fingers from my core before thrusting himself inside of me, "Ahhh! Dom!  Mmmm!" I cry out as he fills me up as a wave of pleasure sweeps my body.  He grazes his lips across my shoulder as he grasps my hips, pulling me into him in perfect rhythm. After a few moments of bliss, we hit our release. He pulls out and rolls over on his back onto the bed. I turn and face him, running my fingers down his sternum to his belly button, "I'm going to leave here soon so I can spend some time with Momma if that's okay," I tell him.  "Oh, that is perfectly fine, my love." He answers as he turns to face me, reaching his hand out to stroke my hair. "So what do you have planned for the day?"  He appears to hesitate as he pulls his hand back, tucking it under his pillow beneath his head, "Well, I am going to see my oncologist for a check-up."  I inhale audibly, "Oh wow! You are? You have one nearby?"  He chuckles, "Yes, I have to follow up to make sure that cancer has not returned. I do not feel like it has, but I would like to make sure."  "Do you need me to come with you?"  "Oh no, darling. I will be fine. I prefer to do it alone." He responds.  I study the expression on his face intently before answering, "Will you call me later?"  "Of course. It is no problem." He replies as he flashes a smile.  I lean in to press my lips to his forehead before rolling off the bed and traipsing to the bathroom in nothing but my birthday suit to freshen up. I can't help but smile as I gaze at my reflection in the mirror. I am completely comfortable being myself in front of Dom, with or without clothes. This is new territory for me, and I love every minute of it.  After I throw my clothes on, I bid farewell to Dom, leave his place, and head back to Momma's house.  Once I arrive, I walk in to find Momma seated on the sofa. Chloe runs up to greet me with her tail wagging, "Hey, Momma. Hi, fluff nugget." I greet them as I kneel to pick Chloe up and carry her to the sofa before I plop down next to Momma with her in my lap.  "Hi, darlin. How was your night?" she asks. "Pretty uneventful other than Nate stopped by the bar.  I guess he was pressing Alisha for info about Dom and me. He told me he missed me, and I basically told him he needed to move on. Hopefully, he got some closure before he left." I tell her.  "I sure hope so. That boy is pressing his luck. I'm not at all pleased at how he acted at Gran's funeral."  I roll my eyes, "Neither was I, Momma. That was not the time nor place." "Well, do you and your new beau have plans tonight?" she asks.  "Nothing set in stone yet; he is supposed to go to for a check-up at his oncologist today. He promised he'd call me when he was done." She shakes her head from side to side, "I'm sure that's nerve-racking for him. I'm glad he's keeping up with his appointments. That's very important." she explains.  "I'm sure it is... What do you have planned tonight? Is Earl coming home?" I ask, attempting to change the subject to keep myself from worrying.  "Nah, he's not back until tomorrow night. I'm going to be watching the grandbabies tonight, I suppose. Dylan and Mariah invited Seth over for dinner tonight, so Dylan asked if I could watch them so the adults can hang out."  I belt out a chuckle, "The bromance never died between those two. Poor Mariah will be the third wheel."  She shrugs her shoulders, "Well, I reckon she doesn't mind it. She can always hang out over here if she wanted to, but I'm sure Dylan would be in a tizzy over it because he can hardly stand to be away from her for even one night."  "That wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to have a man at your beck and call. She has him whipped." I respond.  "You wanna hang out and watch a movie with me today?" she asks.  "Of course, Momma. I'll get shower real quick while you decide what movie we watch."  She nods her head, "Agreed. We can order pizza for lunch and have it delivered. Sound good?" I lean down to kiss Chloe on the top of her head before setting her on the sofa and getting up, "Sounds like good times to me, Momma. I'll be out in a bit." I scurry down the hall and enter the bathroom down the hall to get cleaned up. After I am finished showering, I tiptoe into my bedroom and slip on a pair of relaxed fit jean shorts and my floral blouse with a cami underneath. Once I'm groomed and ready, I stroll back into the living room, plopping down on the sofa with Momma and Chloe. She picked a DVD from the entertainment center and loaded it into the player while I get myself situated. Once it starts, she orders a pizza to be delivered while we begin watching her favorite movie, Fried Green Tomatoes.  The pizza finally arrives about half an hour into the movie. We eat and watch the movie while enjoying each other's company. The evening rolls around, and I have yet to hear back from Dom; I'm growing more and more anxious with each passing minute. I attempt to hide my anxiety by curling up under the afghan on the sofa while flipping through the channels to find something worth watching. After a few moments, the doorbell rings, and Momma jumps up to answer the door. It's Dylan dropping off Georgia, and Momma escorts her to the spare bedroom after Dylan takes off back to his house.  Only a few moments later, the doorbell rings once again. Momma opens the door to find Seth and Brie standing there with John Luke. John Luke squeals with excitement as soon as he sees Momma, "Nana!" Hmm...this is interesting... Is Brie invited to hang out at my brother's tonight as well? John Luke reaches out for Momma; she swoops down to pick him up while Brie approaches me. To be honest, I'm kind of pissed off right now. She hasn't called me at all or asked to hang out, and now she's just going to hang out at my brother's house before making time to hang out with me. I do my best to keep my temper at bay, "Hey, heifer." She greets me before being startled as Chloe presses her little nose against Brie's calf. She spins around and kneels to the ground, "Oh my goodness. Aren't you the cutest little puppy?" She says as she pets the fur on Chloe's back.  "Hugh Heffnah, meet Chloe; that's Gran's dog," I tell her.  She turns her head to glance at me, "Oh my goodness! I love her!" John Luke approaches the puppy and pats her back, "Gentle, bubby. See watch Brie." She instructs him as she gently rubs the back of Chloe's back. She's really good with him... I watch as he mimics Brie by gently rubbing Chloe's  back, "Good boy." She tells him. My curiosity gets the best of me; I clear my throat, "I thought Seth was just hanging out over at Dylan and Mariah's house tonight? That's why Momma is watching both of the kids. Did they invite you too?" I ask. She stands up and spins around to face me, clearing her throat, "Yeah, Mariah invited me this morning. I'm watching John Luke this week for Seth." she responds. I shrug my shoulders and divert my gaze past her while flipping through the channels. My emotions are attempting to get the best of me right now. I'm not only upset that Brie hasn't asked to get together, but I'm also upset my brother didn't think to invite me. He knows I'm off tonight. There's an awkward silence in the room.  Momma leads John Luke to the spare bedroom, "Come back here, baby; your girlfriend, Georgia, is already here playing with the toys." She says before disappearing down the hallway.  Seth clears his throat and strolls over to stand next to Brie, "So Maggs, how's work?"  I'm so pissed, I avoid eye contact with them both and continue to flip through the channels on the television, "Same ol' s**t, different day." I mumble.  Momma enters the living room, interrupting us, "Well, the kids are playing in the spare bedroom. I got this, you two go on ahead and have fun. We are okay here," she says as she ushers them out. Seth and Brie belt out a chuckle as they walk towards the front door.  Brie spins around to glance back at me as I continue to ignore her presence, "Maggie, I'll call you tomorrow to hang out." "Sure you will," I blurt out with a snarky undertone. Momma glances back at me in shock before turning back to them, shrugging her shoulders, "I'll call you tomorrow when he's ready to come home." she tells them as she attempts to ignore what I just said. "Oh, you are keeping him all night? Okay, call me Nova. I'll come to get him and hang out with Maggie for a bit." Brie responds loudly enough for me to hear.  Momma grins and leads them out, "Okay, bye, y'all. Have fun!" They bid farewell, and Momma spins around to face me. Her eyes wide, her mouth wide open, "Margaret Louise! Why are you so hateful towards them?" I cross my arms and pout, "I'm sorry, Momma, I'm just upset! I mean, she can't seem to find the time to spend a couple of hours hanging out with me since she's been home, but she seems to have the time to hang out with Seth at my brother's house? Not to mention, why is she invited and not me? I could have brought Dom so everyone could meet him.  I know Brie is Mariah's cousin, but I'm Dylan's sister. We always used to hang out together. What changed from then to now? This just doesn't seem right. Dylan knew I was off tonight. My feelings are just hurt." She walks over to the sofa and plops down next to me, reaching her arm out to pull me in for an embrace, "I understand. You are going to need to tell Brie and Dylan how you feel." I break her embrace and stand from the sofa, "Momma, it's no use. I hate having conflicts with people. I just let my emotions get the best of me, is all." I tell her.  I begin to walk into the kitchen to grab a soda from the refrigerator when my phone rings. I glance down at the caller ID to find it's Dom. I immediately answer, "Hey, Love." "Hey, Bella, what are you up to?" "Not much, hanging out with Momma. She's babysitting the grandbabies tonight. What are you up to?" I ask. "Well, I'm parked outside hoping you would want to go for a ride; maybe grab some dinner and take it back to my place tonight, watch a movie possibly?" I can't help but chuckle. He's the sweetest man, "Of course, give me five minutes, and I'll be ready." I tell him.  "I'll be waiting, my love."  "Okay, bye," I tell him before disconnecting the call; I spin around and approach Momma. She sits on the sofa, grinning ear to ear as she notices my mood has lightened, "Momma, Dom is outside waiting on me. I'm going to get ready to head out with him."  She nods her head, "Have fun, darlin." She responds.  I grab my purse and house keys, slip my shoes on, bid Momma farewell, and run out to greet Dom as he waits for me on his bike with a smile from ear to ear; my cup runneth over. I climb on the back of his bike before we speed off down the road.
