COHEN I was being stupid. I sat in the front passenger seat of the SUV with Lance driving and Ellie in the back. Why was I bringing her with me? Last night I barely slept a wink, and I knew Ellie hadn't either. We'd laid next to each other like two frozen corpses, barely breathing and doing our d*mndest not to touch. It had been the single most awkward experience in my life. I'd gotten up extra early to avoid blending our morning routines any further. But I wasn't going to change my mind either.
