Episode 15 - Registration

Mr. Lucius continued to explain the details about the things needed to know by students in relation to the Cultivator's Guild.

Mr. Lucius: To start off with the things in relation to our Cultivator's Guild, I would like to clarify to everyone here that some information will not be available to you since you're all still students. And any student who excels here will certainly be recruited to our Cultivator's Guild - Main Branch. And to enter the main branch, you need to be at least at the Blue Essence. So if everyone understands, I'll start the explanation now. First, you need to register over at the registry counter and write all the relevant details on the blank provided on the application form. It's really important that you write everything correctly and honestly because even the slightest mistake in the data found in your I.D. will become an offense with a chance of being executed on the spot, depending on the severity of false amount of data between you and your I.D., so please be careful. Next, after you give your application form to the registrar, wait for your name to be called and the person who called will guide you to your Essence Color Evaluation.

As soon as Mr. Lucius finished the sentence, his personal secretary approached him and whispered something into his ear. He was surprised a bit but was able to maintain his poker face in front of the crowd and continued on.

Mr. Lucius: Ahem. Sorry about that short disturbance. Being a manager is no easy feat. So I'll continue this as fast as I can and tend to my duties, immediately. Now where was I? Oh, yes. After your Essence Color Evaluation, you will then be guided to the waiting room where you'll wait for the release of your license. After you receive your license, immediately pour a drop of your blood to the seal and the license will be blood bound to you. This way, even if you lose your license, you will find it within a one kilometer radius. So please take care of your card because you will still lose it if you misplace it and go beyond the effect limit of the built in tracker. Losing your card means that you're irresponsible and will be blacklisted from any of the Cultivator's Guild branches and main branch. Also, a warning. Never conduct a quest without you license, doing so will be offensive enough for immediate execution and if you try to run away, your family will also be prosecuted. Now, I'll explain what to do after you activate your license. After your license is activated, you need to install the Cultivator's Guild application and also register. This time it will be easier since you will only need to input your license I.D. number and then you're done. You can use this app to search for available quests. You can also find quests directly at any Cultivator's Guild branch by looking at the guild's quest board. After you found the quest you want to partake from the app, press the reserve button and go to the nearest Cultivator's Guild branch to receive your permit. You will need to show the permit and your license to the gatekeeper whenever you enter and exit so that you will be able to pass. This is why you need to take care of both your pass license. I suggest you buy a Dimensional Pocket Accessory to store your important things. I know these things are expensive for you students but it's better than losing your license and permit. Lastly, after you successfully completed your quest, head the nearest Cultivator's Guild and turn in the Quest Item. Note: Any gains you made from your incursion will be yours. You will only need to give the Quest Item to the Quest Completion Counter. If by chance a staff from that counter also wants you to hand over your personal gains, please report it immediately to any of the guards from the surroundings. They will take care of it. Moving on the Quest Danger Level. The Quest Danger Level ranges from G, the lowest, to S, the highest. You students will only receive quests up to E Danger Level. G Danger Level's Essence Color requirement is from Orange - Red Essence to Orange - Yellow Essence. F Danger Level's Essence Color requirement is from Yellow - Orange Essence to Yellow - Green Essence. And, E Danger Level's Essence Color requirement is from Green - Yellow Essence to Green - Blue Essence. Be reminded that you will not be able to reserve the quest you want from the app or the quest counter will not give you your quest permit if the quest you want to take is above the your own Essence Color. That is all. You can all now proceed to the registrar. Please go to the register counter now. Dismissed.

Everybody in the stadium dispersed and proceeded to the registrar. Some took it easy because the line was so long despite having six register counters. Maki also went ahead and found a good spot to take a nap. He was about to close his eyes when suddenly, he was approached by an unknown person.

Unknown Person: Hey. I like this spot. Move!

Maki: I found this place first. Go find your own.

Unknown Person: What did you say, punk?!

Maki: (snores intentionally)

The unknown person was a student from a different university. He wore a red uniform with golden, shiny buttons lining down on his left chest. He had two horns protruding from his forehead making him one of the Dragon Race. He got annoyed by Maki's nonchalant behavior.

Unknown Person: (charges punch) Let's see if you can still maintain that kind of attitude after I smash you to ground from where you're sleeping. (punches Maki)

The ground shook a bit from the punch of the Unknown Person. The area he punched was covered with dust clouds and he was unable to see whether Maki was hit or not. He was not sure because his punch felt like it hit the floor which would be impossible since no Human can move that fast. Especially from that kind of position. The dust cloud dispersed and Maki was nowhere to be found. Shortly a security guard approached the Unknown Person and apprehended him.

Security Guard: Oh, looks like we got a lively one here, eh? Even though you are a student, I have to ask you to live the premises. The Cultivator's Guild doesn't need a lawless person in their group. You will also be expelled from your school. If we let troublemakers like you leave scot free, it will be bad for our reputation.

The unknown person was immediately eaten by despair. I mean, who wants to be expelled from the first day, right?

The unknown person then tried to reason his way out.

Unknown Person: Sir, please let me explain! Someone took my resting spot when I went to the toilet, earlier. I asked the person nicely at first but the person just ignored me. It got on my nerves and wanted to teach the person a little lesson but the person suddenly disappeared. Please you have to believe me. (pleading face)

After the Unknown Person tried to reason out with the Security Guard, Maki passed by the Security Guard's back, enough for the Unknown Person to notice him.

Unknown Person: That's him, sir! That's him! (points at Maki)

Security Guard: What do you mean that's him? Can't you see he's holding a snack? This snack can only be bought from the guild's canteen. The canteen is at the opposite side from our position. Your punch was only just a minute ago. Do you know how ridiculous that sounds? No Human can move that fast in your current Essences. Now come with m-...

The security guard suddenly received a report from his earpiece. It told him to bring the person that the troublemaker pointed to the Manager's Office ASAP. The guard was slightly confused but still followed the order nonetheless. But the troublemaker was still to be blacklisted from the guild. The security guard then approached Maki.

Security Guard: Excuse me. Could you wait her for a moment?

Unknown Person: Ha! You're busted now!

Security Guard: What do you mean busted? I just asked him to wait here, while I escort you out.

Unknown Person: W-What?! What do you mean?! That's the person who stole my spot!

Security Guard: I just got an order from the higher ups. They said that they want to have a talk with the boy you pointed and you are officially blacklisted from the guild from here on out. Now quietly follow me before the higher ups authorizes me to use force on escorting you out.

Unknown Person: But. But! (looks at Maki angrily) This is all your fault! I'm going to cripple you! (charges at Maki)

The unknown person released his aura suddenly to imbalance the security guard. The security was knocked off a bit but soon gained his footing. The security tried to stop the charging Dragon but it was already too late.

Security Guard: Damn it! (gains footing) Oh no! I have to save the boy! I'll get fired if I fail to protect the boy. I don't know why the higher ups want to talk to this boy, but from their tone earlier, the boy seems important. But I'm afraid I won't make it in time. I'm sorry. (closes eyes)

As soon as the Dragon's punch was at arms length, somebody kicked the Dragon in the face sending away a few meters away from Maki.

Maki: You saved me there, Leo. I guess I owe you one.

The one who kicked the Dragon was none other than Leo.

Leo: You sure do. And I wasn't trying to save you. I was trying to save your enemy from you.

Maki: Come on. Why? Can't you see I'm shivering from being afraid?

Leo: More like shivering because you're excited to punch someone in the face. You would have broken his jaw if I didn't stop him on time. And your sinister smile is not convincing. You need practice on that.

Maki: Ugh! Fine. But the Security Guard told me to wait here so let's hear him out first.

Leo: Sure.

Security Guard: Thank you young lad. I don't know what would have happened to me if the boy that the higher ups wanted to talk to was beaten on my watch.

Leo: No problem. But what do you mean by the higher ups wanting to talk to my classmate here.

Security Guard: Oh, I guess that explains why you saved him then. But I also don't know why they wanted to speak to your classmate over here. They just told me to bring him to the Manager's Office.

Leo: Wait, what?! Manager's Office? (turns to Maki) Did you do something?

Maki: Aside from this event. None.

Leo: Then why woul-...

Security Guard: I'm sorry but I really need him to come with me now. The manager is a busy man and I don't want to make him wait.

Leo: Oh, sorry. I guess I'll see you tomorrow then. After I get my license, I'm going straight home. I'm pooped.

Maki: Okay. See you tomorrow then. (fist bump with Leo) Bye!

Security Guard: Thank you for understanding. Now, this way please.

Maki and the security guard rode the elevator to the top floor. They arrived at the Manager's Office shortly and the Security went back as soon as he finished his escort duty.

Security Guard: This is as far as I can go. I'll go back to my duties now. Just go ahead and knock and state your name. (walks away)

Maki: (knocks on the door) Hello, sir. This is Maki Montaire. You called for me?

Mr. Lucius: Ah yes. You're finally here. Come on in!

Maki: Pardon me for the intrusion!

Maki entered the Manager's Office and there he saw two more familiar faces other than the Mr. Lucius. It was Mr. Aerolith and his daughter Aera.

Maki: Uhh? Pleased to meet you all?
