Episode 20 - The Goddess

Maki arrived at his room, closed the door and went to bed. He closed his eyes and imagined everything that had happened today. Aera's sudden breakthrough, his short spar with Aera, the mysterious female voice he heard while resting after the spar with Aera, and revealing his real power to Mr. Lucius but almost got killed by an ancient foe. Too many things happened that his stress level was so high, that his blood pressure also rose up. After a short while, he got a headache because of the things he kept thinking over and over again. He blanked his mind in an attempt to calm his nerves down and somehow was able to enter into a deep sleep.

Maki entered into some kind of a dreamscape where there was no land but he was standing on something invisible. The area was full of clouds and he jus kept walking listlessly. Later, he arrived into a small grotto where he saw a beautiful woman wearing nothing but a silk robe. The woman had green hair with flowers that looked like they were growing from her hair. She had red luscious lips, well endowed chest and had a seemingly perfect natural curves. Although Maki saw the mysterious woman, his male urges did not trigger and he just approached her and was about to talk to her but the woman said something first.

Mysterious Woman: So, we finally meet, Maki.

Maki: You know me?

Mysterious Woman: Of course I know you. I even know more about you than you know yourself.

Maki: Uhh? Okay? So, I take it that you were the one who sent me here?

Mysterious Woman: No, I'm not capable of that feat anymore. I'm merely here because you had called me strongly in your subconscious.

Maki: How is that even possible? I don't even know who you are.

Mysterious Woman: I'm pretty sure you know me. Think harder.

Maki tried to think everything that had happened to him so far but he just can't get it quite right. He does feel that the mysterious woman is familiar but he just can't seem to remember her. He gave up after some time and just asked directly.

Maki: Sorry. Nothing comes up. Can I get a hint?

Mysterious Woman: Ugh. Fine. Ahem. "Become stronger!"

Maki finally remembered that the mysterious woman and the mysterious voice he heard after his spar with Aera was the same person. He took a step back because he did not expect to meet the owner of the mysterious voice he heard earlier in person.

Maki: W-Wait. So it was you?!

Mysterious Woman: Of course it's me. How do you think I know that line if was not the one who said it? Are you and i***t, perhaps?

Maki: Wait. Wait. Wait. It just doesn't add up. Why did you say I called you unconsciously?

Mysterious Woman: Well, first and foremost, I'm here inside your dream space. Second, to warn you. And third, I'm the owner of that sigil you have in you chest.

Maki's eyes widened so much that it seemed to pop out from his eyeballs at any moment. He didn't realize that the one he was talking to now was none other than the Goddess, Gaia. But Maki still tried to keep his cool and just tried to smoothen up the conversation.

Maki: Well this is definitely the biggest surprise that has happened to me today. Do I need to bow now or something to show my respect to you? Because honestly, I don't know how you "GODS" show your respect to yourselves.

Goddess Gaia: Nice try on keeping calm. I'll give you nine out of ten for that one.

Maki: Oh man. Why? I though I hid it perfectly.

Goddess Gaia: First, nobody's perfect. Even Gods such as ourselves make mistakes. Second, because your knees are trembling nonstop.

Maki: Wait, what?! (looks down) Oh man.

Goddess Gaia: (chuckles) Anyway, seems you realized that there are many Gods out there. How'd you realize it?

Maki: Simple. There were two of you. At first I was not sure about this theory of mine until now. Actually I said a trick word earlier to confirm it. And your answer just told me some basic things I needed to know some things about you guys.

Goddess Gaia: Oh? Please elaborate.

Maki: First, I said "GODS". You did not correct me and just made my hunch stronger. Second and made my hunch a hundred percent accurate was because you said that 'nobody's perfect'. If it was a person who said that, it would not have much on an impact but since you, a God or rather a Goddess, actually said that nobody's perfect. We lower beings believe you guys are perfect. Both omniscient and omnipresent. But you just downright admitted that.

Goddess Gaia: Hmm. That's actually quite impressive. You really got me there. Well since you realized that on your own, then you will understand my warning on your own in the future. Saves me the time of explaining everything to you since our time here is almost up.

Maki: Wait, what? What you do you mean almost up? Hey, you're the one who put this thing on me, right? At least teach me how to hide this thing completely without relying on Mr. Aerolith's Hanky Seal. It feels really uncomfortable.

Goddess Gaia: Oh that's easy. Just try to suppress it as much as you can. Oh and the warning. Become stronger as much as you can. In the God's Realm, Gold Essence is just the starting Essence of a new born there. So the Essence that you have now is nowhere near defeating the God that will soon return to your world. Please become strong. (fades)

Maki: What? Wait! I still have some questions left! Hey! (wakes up)

Maki woke up and heard his mom downstairs that has been calling him for dinner.

Maki: Oh man! I don't even know how to become stronger. And what do you mean a God that will return in our world? Damnit! I don't know anymore! Ugh. I'll just wash up and eat.

Maki washed his face, went down and had dinner with his mother.
