Episode 8 - Faces of Real People

While Nurse Aqua was still busy getting rough with Maki, Aerolith woke up. But what she saw was different from what actually happened and the situation ended up entirely misunderstood.

Aerolith: Kyaaaaaa!!!!! Y-You! Both of you! W-What do you think your doing inside the infirmary?! 

Maki's clothes was tattered and Nurse Aqua's first shirt button was undone, revealing her cleavage. Nurse Aqua immediately stood up and tidied up herself while Maki tried to explain.

Maki: Wait! This..I can explain.

Aerolith: First me. And now the Nurse?! GO DIEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! (punches Maki again)

Maki: Wait. Wait. Wait. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! (flies to the skies and sparkles like a twinkling little star)

Aerolith: Hmp! i***t! (blushes but feeling a little bit disappointed)

Nurse Aqua: Y-You know. As much as I hate to say this, but I was the one who was clobbering that little boy. I think you should have listened to him first. But that was a nice punch though. (giving a thumbs up)

Aerolith: I know...err? I'm sorry, I still don't know your name.

Nurse Aqua: Oh, sorry for the late introduction. I'm Marina Aqua, the university nurse. Nice to meet you, Miss Patient.

Aerolith: O-Oh, same here then. Nice to meet you too, Nurse Aqua. I'm Aera Aerolith.

Nurse Aqua: Aerolith? As in the daughter of THE DOCTOR AEROLITH? 

Aerolith: Yeah. Why talk about my father like that?

Nurse Aqua: Of course I regard him very highly like that. In the medical world, he was the one that discovered that our bodies have three dan tians and each of them corresponds to our abilities. Upper Dan Tian for our Special Skills that requires Mental Force that can be obtained through Meditation or other Mind Enhancing techniques, Middle Dan Tian for our Special Moves that requires Muscle Power that can be improved by Body Trainings or other strenuous activities, and the Lower Dan Tian in which our Essence is housed. He was even the one who discovered that our Essences changes color through cultivation from Pink to Gold and have Ten Stages before advancing to the next color via Tribulation Ascension. He even named these stages from First Stage to First Stage Peak to Second Stage to Second Stage Peak up to the final stage of the Fifth Stage Peak before going through the Tribulation Ascension. And he was also the one to discover that the color of our Essences, from Pink to Violet, comes from the seven major colors of the rainbow. But our Essences, from Pink to Violet, has twenty one different colors so it's a bit hard to explain them all. And the three later colors of our Essences, namely Bronze, Silver, and Gold, comes from the three precious metal of the world. Dr. Aerolith also speculated that God's, our creator, Essence had a different color which is the Platinum above the Gold Essence we can achieve. But that speculation is hard the prove at our current time because it's not even sure if God truly existed or if we did have some kind of creator. And I heard you directly jumped from Yellow - Orange Essence - Second Stage to Yellow Essence - First Stage. 

Aerolith: Yeah. It's kind of amazing to have a dad like that. Researching all the time trying to help everyone up to the point of forgetting to take care of his own daughter.

Nurse Aqua: O-Oh. I'm sorry. I didn't know you have experienced that.

Aerolith: It's okay. I've grown accustomed to this kind of lifestyle. Looking at the bright side, at least I'm free to do what I want. So that's a plus on my point of view.

Nurse Aqua: I guess if you put it that way then I'm glad that you get to live the life you want. Anyway, how are you feeling?

Aerolith: I feel refreshed. More refreshed than what I used to feel. Is this what it feels like to go through the Tribulation Ascension by yourself for the first time? I feel so refreshed that I feel like I could jump up to the moon if I wanted to.

Nurse Aqua: The feeling is different for anyone. And you jumped some processes too. Normally if you skip stages and directly ascend color, your body and mind would become so unstable that you would self destruct. Much like what happened to you. But you're lucky that Mr. Angelo saved you on time and was able to isolate you before you self destructed. 

Aerolith: Huh? I don't understand. If I self destructed, doesn't that mean I'm the source of explosion? I should have blown to bits by now.

Nurse Aqua: You're underestimating Mr. Angelo's Ultimate, Holy Armament. I know you don't know what an Ultimate is but your teachers will teach that to you in the future. Just know that Mr. Angelo's Ultimate was able to separate you and the self destruction explosion by using that Ultimate. Anyhow, if you're okay now, you should head to your next class. If I'm not mistaken from what I've heard, you should go to the Power Gym.

Aerolith: Okay. Thank you, Nurse Aqua.

Nurse Aqua: You're welcome.(smiles) 

Aerolith made her way to the Power Gym. The Power Gym was just the next building beside the Sparring Stadium. The Power Gym was mostly composed of Physical Training Courses. The center had a small covered quadrangular court, the place where the teacher lectures the students before they start with their training session. After Aerolith arrive, the atmosphere became immediately awkward. Aerolith can clearly see her classmates' fear looking at her. She thought that to think that they were the same people who approached her wanting to be her friend earlier. For the first time in her life, Aerolith woke up to the truth that people can change faces as fast as one can blink an eye depending on how they portray you as. She was about to leave the quadrangular court when somebody tapped her shoulder.

Somebody: Hey. You okay?

Aerolith: Isn't it already obvi-? Maki?!

Maki: In the flesh. Damn, your punches gets stronger every time you hit me. Do you think I'm a punching or something? I think my ribs are cracked. Just kidding. Ahaha. (smiles brightly at Aerolith) Come on. The class is about to start. I saw the teacher coming on my way here. Let's go seat over there and don't mind the stares. You'll get you used to it as time passes. So, do your best to ignore them for now.

Aerolith: Okay. (smiles) (I guess he isn't so bad after all) (blushes)

Shortly the teacher arrived and both the teacher and Maki were surprised to see each other again because the teacher was none other than Mr. Lavabo. The teacher that almost attacked Maki yesterday. The teacher was able to gain his composure quite fast and continued on to the center of the court and started introducing himself. 

Mr. Lavabo: Good morning, everyone. Name's Gaseous Lavabo, your Power Gym teacher. I wield the Blaze Magic and a descendant from the noble blood of the legendary phoenix. And I'm currently at Violet Essence - Fifth Stage Peak.

Maki: Wow! A descendant of the legendary Chickenjoy! Can you believe it guys? Our teacher is from a lege-...eep! (dodges the incoming attack) Hey! How could a professional teacher do that to his student? I almost got roasted!

Mr. Lavabo: You didn't treat me as a professional teacher so why should I treat you normally as a professional teacher normally would?

The whole class laughed ,except for Aerolith, at Maki. You can even see that the teacher was so proud of his rebut that you can literally see his mouth becoming a long beak. Aerolith was about to say something but Maki signaled her not to do anything and smiled gently. Aerolith then realized that the tense atmosphere that was focused on her earlier was now dispersed by Maki. She was touched by this move and felt her heart skip a beat. Her view on Maki was slowly but surely taking a hundred and eighty degree turn. She felt hot and blushed so hard that her face started to become pink then beet red. 

Maki: Hey? You okay? Your face is red. Do you have a fever? (touches Aerolith's forehead to check her temperature)

Aerolith: (blushes even more that steam came out of her elven ears and nose) N-NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! (punches Maki hard again)

Maki: But I didn't even do anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (sparkles in the sky)

Mr. Lavabo: Nice hit, Ms. Aerolith! (giving a thumbs up)

Aerolith: What?! Wait, I didn't mean that! (sigh)

Mr. Lavebo: Everyone calm down first. I'll go get the dimwit.

Everbody: Understood, Mr. Lavabo!

Mr. Lavabo left the quadrangular court and reverted to his original form. Because of the dilution of the noble Phoenix's blood, Mr. Lavabo's beastman form was completely the form of a malnourished chicken. Although it looked like a malnourished chicken, this was not entirely bad. Normally, chickens can fly short distances but they cannot soar the skies because they become somewhat heavy. Mr. Lavabo's malnourished chicken form made him fly long distances and soar the skies because he was not heavy. After reverting to his beastman form, he readied his posture to fly. But when he jumped, somebody grabbed his foot leading him to crash face first to the ground.

Mr. Lavabo: Ow! What the f-Maki?!

Maki: (picking on his nose) Where are you going, Mr. Lavabo? Going to go c**k a doodle doo? 

Mr. Lavabo: I was going to pick you up, you moron! How are back spotless? 

Maki: Well...

Mr. Lavabo: Well???

Maki: I landed. Teehee! 

Mr. Lavabo: (falls down again because he was expecting a normal answer from the student he called moron) If you going to keep this utter idiocy, I'm really gonna roast you.

Maki: I'm just kidding. Sheesh! Let's just go back, okay? It's already past fifteen minutes and you still haven't started class. 

Mr. Lavabo: Tha-That was actually a sound argument for an i***t. Fine. I'll let this go for now. Let's go.

Mr. Lavabo and Maki both returned to quadrangular court. But the entire class was shocked because they expected Maki to come back with some bandages on his body. Instead, it was Mr. Lavabo who came back that had a nosebleed stopper shoved up his nostrils. Maki returned to his seat and Mr. Lavabo resumed and continued to his discussion. Although his way of talking was somewhat a little funny because of his nostrils being clogged up.

Mr. Lavabo: Okay. So first up, I'll explain to you what is the Middle Dan Tian. The Middle Dan Tian influences the strength of our Special Moves. The Middle Dan Tian is located at the middle of our chest near our heart which means that since our heart is also a muscle, our Special Moves requires us to move our body. Unlike the Special Skill that uses your Mental Force to manifest itself, our Special Move can directly manifest itself with our body's motion. For example, my Special Move is called Blaze Punch. As the name itself implies, I punch to manifest my Blaze Magic unto my fists. This move has an additional chance to leave the foe burned reducing their Special Move attack power. As we get stronger, all of our skills and moves will have some additional abilities as we become powerful. For example, Ms. Swanna, your homeroom teacher, is weak against my blaze. But since she's stronger than me, she can offset that disadvantage. Meaning, my blaze is not hot enough to melt her ice. And what I mean that she's more powerful than me is that there's a huge difference in our Essence colors. I'm on the weaker Violet Essence - Fifth Stage Peak and she's in the Bronze - Violet Essence - First Stage. My point here is that, even if your Magic counters the opponent's Magic, they can ignore that disadvantage simply because they are stronger than you. And since I explained to you that our Special Moves requires us to move our bodies, we have to train our bodies to it's current limit to get to the next stage. You know what they say, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. (smiles wickedly) Discussion end! Now, since there's fifteen of you, come here and form three lines, five people each.
