1464 Words
On a certain sunny day, a Human mother gave birth to a healthy baby boy with a mysterious sigil. The sigil glowed green as if nature bestowed its blessing upon the baby. The sigil was also positioned on the chest right at where the heart is located. The sigil gave off a strange, soothing aura that the baby's fatigued mother mysteriously got better as if she did not give birth at all. The mother go all better that it looked like she was ten years younger. The doctor in charge of the birth was stunned and confused as to why the sigil seems to be somewhat familiar to him. The confused doctors called some of his colleagues and asked them if they knew the sigil. Unfortunately, like him, they were also stunned and confused but also felt the same familiar feeling. After some series of discussion they decided to call their department head. When the department head arrived, he immediately called the owner of the hospital. The mother of the baby got worried because she didn't know if there is something wrong with her baby. She tried the ask the department head but he only said that their is nothing to worry about. The owner will tell her personally, later. When the owner arrived, he entered the room with a straight body, like having a stature of a dignified person. The owner had long-pointy ears, light, green hair, stood with a height of 6'9 feet. He gave off an aura the same as the newborn child but was still somewhat inferior compared to the newborn. The owner was an Elf and then introduced himself. Owner: Hello, Mrs. Montaire. I am Lithium Aerolith, the owner of this hospital. Mrs. Montaire (with a face written with worry): Hello, Mr. Aerolith. If I may be so abrupt, may I know if my child is okay? I'm really worried.' Mrs. Montaire had brown eyes, straight, dark brown hair with an Asian skin tone. Mr. Aerolith: Of course, Mrs. Montaire. Please don't worry, I'll assure you that your baby is gonna be okay. Now, please rest well and wait for the result. I'll be examining your son personally. Mrs. Montaire: Thank you, Mr. Aerolith. I know it's presumptuous of me to ask you this, but I'll leave my son in your hands. Mr. Aerolith: It's okay, Mrs. Montaire. It's totally understandable. No parent would want for something to happen at their offspring. Now please rest. Mrs. Montaire: Thank you, Mr. Aerolith. Here he is. His name is Maki. Maki Montaire.  When Mrs. Montaire showed her baby to Mr. Aerolith, He immediately fell to his knees and suddenly started crying like child. The other people seeing this was shocked and afraid at the same time. Thinking that maybe their owner suddenly lost his mind. Mrs. Montaire seeing this was shocked for a little while then covered the baby again. Mr. Aerolith came to his mind shortly after and apologized to everyone for his sudden outburst of behavior. Then, he faced Mrs. Montaire again and explained. Mr. Aerolith: Mrs. Montaire. Your son...There is nothing wrong with your son. It's just that- Mrs. Montaire (suddenly cutting the owner's sentence): Just what?! Please tell me! Mr. Aerolith ( clears his throat): Before I tell Mrs. Montaire, can I ask everyone here to leave us alone? I want to let Mrs. Montaire to be the only one to know of this. Everyone then respected the owner's wish and immediately left the room without uttering a single word. When everyone left the room, Mr. Aerolith then started to explain about the baby's condition to his mother. Mr. Aerolith: Your baby, Mrs. Montaire, is blessed by the love of our Goddess Gaia. Mrs. Montaire: Goddess Gaia? You mean the Goddess  from the legends? Mr. Aerolith: Goddess, yes. But legends? Absolutely not! The legends you heard when you were young were only a part of the truth of what actually happened a couple of million years ago. In truth, you ,Humans, were almost wiped out even with the help of us Elves. Goddess Gaia took pity on your race because she loved every race equally as if we were her own offspring. Although Goddess Gaia was not our creator, she fought for you so that you could continue to exist today. Our creator, God Creare, only saw us as mere entertainments and watched as our race was fighting to survive the onslaught of the other races. Normally, we wouldn't have helped you but Goddess Gaia ordered us to save you. Our Elven race was also brought to the brink of extinction but as a last resort, Goddess Gaia gave some of her powers to the remaining Humans as a last resort. God Creare wasn't happy about that and tried to banish Goddess Gaia but she countered God with a seal. She sealed both herself and God on a stone slab. The stone slab then fell to the center of the war and with the impact coming with it, stopped the calamity. The land that time was very different to what we know today because our lands on that time was only a single enormous island. And would you believe if I told you that Humans were actually powerless at that time? By powerless, I mean unable to use magic. Your race can only use magic now because Goddess Gaia made an atmosphere made with magic particles called Magisphere before She sealed Herself together with God. This Magisphere serves as a proxy to let your race use the Goddess's blessing without her presence. You should be thankful for that. Mrs. Montaire: I understand, Mr. Aerolith.  Although I'm having a hard time believing all of this. What does this story have to do with my child? Mr. Aerolith: Well, ma'am. It's because Goddess Gaia left a hidden message to our Elven race. She said, "There will be a time when My sigil will appear on a Human. It will give the Human great power as it is directly My own blessing. But if My sigil ever appears, it also means that My seal on my Brother will also weaken. When that happens, I hope that you can nurture the Human successfully in order to prevent this disaster from ever happening again. Although I said MY SEAL, the seal is ME so you should understand what that means right? As unfortunate as it may be, I hope you, the creation with some of my own powers to control nature , will assist the Human." Now, with this confidential information I told you ma'am, what is your decision? I'll respect whatever decision you make. Whether it is to run away from all this and hide, or take the hard path and let your child bear the heaviest responsibility that he may not be able to carry alone. Mrs. Montaire: I can't make the choice, Mr. Aerolith. I'll let my child decide for himself when he grows up. For now, I just want my child to live happily in bliss. Mr. Aerolith: As you wish, ma'am. Then if ever your family is in trouble, please give me a call. Here is my calling card. And please keep this a secret even to your husband. This information must definitely not spread, lest you might attract unwanted attention. Also, please put this cloth above the sigil, it will hide the sigil completely and will never come off even if you wash the baby. The boy won't notice it even when he grows up.  Mrs. Montaire: Thank you, Mr. Aerolith. But how about his powers? What if he can't control it yet? Mr. Aerolith: Don't worry about that ma'am. The cloth also limits the output of his power to about one tenth of its original value. Now, please put the cloth directly above the sigil. By the way, this cloth is called the Sealing Hanky. Mrs. Montaire: S-Sealing Hanky? Mr. Aerolith: Yeah, Sealing Hanky. Because the cloth limits the power output of the wearer and it looks like a handkerchief, thus Sealing Hanky. Mrs. Montaire (feeling sorry for the one who invented the cloth only for it to end up being named Hanky: Uhh, okay. Mrs. Montaire put the cloth on top of the sigil. The sigil disappeared without a trace, even the aura was completely hidden. Mrs. Montaire thanked Mr. Aerolith for the help. Mrs. Montaire was well enough to leave the hospital immediately but needed to stay in the hospital for a few days to prevent suspicion. Years passed by and the baby became nineteen years old. Although when the baby, Maki, was growing up, he had a hard time controlling his power. They only survived because of the monetary support from Mr. Aerolith as honor to the last wish of their Goddess.
