Episode 17 - Platinum Essence

A huge shockwave came from the island and created big waves when the shockwave hit the sea. But because of both, Maki and Mr. Lucius', power colliding, the island ended up being disintegrated. Mr. Lucius's arm was bent to the back, the finger that he protected with all his power had vanished and he was panting heavily. Maki put back the Hanky Seal to cover the Goddess's Sigil, withdrew his suffocating aura, and approached Mr. Lucius.

Maki: So, is this my win, sir?

Mr. Lucius: Sir? Hehe. (coughs) You're still calling me that? It's your win. (pants) I never thought the real power of the Goddess's Sigil would be this much. Just how strong was our creator? Ugh!

Maki: I'll leave that up to your imagination. You need me to heal you? It might cause panic if the see you in that state.

Mr. Lucius: Thank you. But please leave my finger missing.

Maki: What? Why?

Mr. Lucius: It'll be my best trophy.

Maki: Do you have a believable alibi for that?

Mr. Lucius: I still have my authority right? Hehehe

Maki: Well, if you say so: (heals Mr. Lucius)

Mr. Lucius closed his eyes while Maki was healing him. He thought that maybe he can gain something from this experience. He tried to remember the pressure that Maki exerted earlier and tried to comprehend how it felt for him and how it would help him from here on out. A few minutes later, Maki noticed that the world energy around them have started to gather on Mr. Lucius. Maki smiled and took a few meters back away from Mr. Lucius and waited for him to wake up. It was a sign that Mr. Lucius was going to have a breakthrough. Since Mr. Lucius was already at the Silver - Gold Essence, his breakthrough was somewhat intense that it affected the sea's waves tremendously. The disturbance was so great that fishermen from miles away was even affected by the waves. The fishermen even saw the dark clouds from their point of view and this made the fishermen go back home to be safe. The weather satellite above caught Mr. Lucius' breakthrough and the experts thought that it will be a calamity if this sudden storm will hit the land. The experts where totally were totally confused about what to do from here on out but one of the experts noticed something and shouted to get their attention.

Expert: Hey! Stop your yammering and come here! (the others came to him) Isn't a normal storm suppose to not contain aura? Why does this one contain aura? (comes to a realization) Unless, this a breakthrough from one of powerful Cultivators?! Toinkies! Quick use satellite imaging and let's see who's making a breakthrough. Hurry!

The experts was able to calm down after their realization and started to do their work. They used the satellite imaging and zoomed in on the center. The weather interference was so strong that all they could see was a silhouette. Though they were a bit disappointed of the result, they still recorded the whole situation so that they will be able to show the footage to some other experts that might know who the silhouette is. For some reason, their recording was stopped mid way. They didn't know what happened to the satellite and checked if it was still okay. A passing space rock might have bumped into their satellite causing it to malfunction. The experts were quick to resolve this action because the breakthrough might already be over but they did not find anything wrong with their satellite. It seemed as though something was covering the lens of their satellite camera because no other variables could explain the current situation. They quickly thought of a solution to use their other satellite's camera but when they came back to the spot of the breakthrough, it was already over. The experts felt the energy they had earlier leave their body as the adrenaline that through their body earlier wore off.

Same Expert: At least we caught something, right? Now let's send this footage to the Cultivator's Guild - Main Branch. They might find out who this is.

The other experts agreed to the suggestion and immediately sent the footage to the Cultivator's Guild - Main Branch.

After Mr. Lucius's breakthrough, he is now Silver - Gold Essence - Fourth Stage. Only a minor stage breakthrough. But even with that minor stage breakthrough, it was still powerful enough to cause a severe disturbance in the environment. Maki approached Mr. Lucius and told him:

Maki: Shall we go back now, sir?

Mr. Lucius: Why? I still have to consolidate my new attainment.

Maki: You can do that at your office. Your breakthrough caused a major disturbance on the environment. Someone might be coming here and you're still unstable. And I won't risk revealing my trump card to an unknown enemy that might have the capacity to escape from both of us. Let's go back now.

Mr. Lucius: Understood. Let's (suddenly arrives at the office) go? (sigh) Right, I forgot you were able to do this.

Maki: Oh and about my license. Please make it at the Yellow Essence - First Stage for now. And don't tell anyone, even Mr. Aerolith, about my real strength. This two are my only requests for now. Congratulations on you breakthrough Mr. Branch Manager. (leaves)

Mr. Lucius: (sigh) Too much happened in just three hours today. Well, at least I was finally able to breakthrough my bottleneck and increased my stage. I guess I really owe him big time now. I wonder what will happen to this world from now on. Will you be the reason of this world's destruction? Or will you be able to change it for the better? I can sense great change brewing just around the corner. Well, first thing first. I have to consolidate my strength now.

The footage arrived at the Cultivator's Guild - Main Branch through email. The person immediately sent the footage to the Main Branch's Master. The master watched the footage and was taken aback with what he saw on the video. The master's personal secretary got worried and asked if he was okay.

Secretary: Master! Are you okay? You're sweating heavily. (wipes the master's sweat)

Master: Yes, I'm fine now.

Secretary: What was in the video that even you backed away?

Master: See the video for yourself. I just hope that you will be able to see it.

Secretary: Understood. Pardon the intrusion then. (watches the video) There is nothing wrong with the video, sir. Did you see something else?

Master: (sigh) I guess you're still inexperienced to notice.

Secretary: (shocked at the master's remark and kowtows) Sir! I'm sorry for being such an incompetent secretary! I'll accept any punishment! Please punish this ignorant one's incompetence!

Master: Get up. There's no need to go that far. Come here, I'll show it to you.

Secretary: (kowtows again) Thank you for your benevolence, sir!

Master: It's fine already. Come here now. (secretary approaches) See this?

Secretary: Yes, sir. That is the one breaking through.

Master: Yes. But what you didn't notice is that this person is not alone. Look here. (points at the upper right, one point five inches away from the person breaking through)

Secretary: Cranky! Is that another person?!

Master: Yes but this is what surprised me the most. Zooms in on the second figure. You see that?

Secretary: Uhm? Sorry sir, I don't see it.

Master: (sigh) Here's a hint. What race do you think this person is? See any special features?

Secretary: (realizes) Oh my cranks! I don't see any special features.

Master: Which means?

Secretary: Which mean that, this person is...is...is...What kind of race does this person belong to, sir?

Master: (facepalm) Why did you build up that much hype if you don't even know in the first place?! (sigh) This person's a human. For crying out quiet.

Secretary: Holy shmarggenrogg! This person is really a human. So what surprised you, sir?

Master: ARGGGGGH!!!! You know what? Just get me some iced coffee. I need to calm down first.

Secretary: (kowtows again) I'm very sorry for once again failing to meet your expectations, sir! I'll accept any punishment! Please punish me!

Master: Then your punishment will be to drink pure black coffee mixed with dark chocolate and bitter gourd extract. Now go get me my iced coffee!

Secretary: But, isn't it a bit bitter, sir? Hehehe

Master: Get going now or you'll exit through the window!

Secretary: Eep! Right away, sir! (leaves hysterically)

Master: (sigh) Damnit. Why did you show up now of all times? I don't know if I can bear this kind of heavy responsibility.

Although the Guild Master didn't know that the second person in the video is Maki. The master still noticed that it was him who cut off the video through some unknown means. And the reason for the master's last line was because somehow on the video, the aura that Maki exuded, although weak, was like the color of a Silver Essence but more solid and lustrous. Maki's aura was Platinum Essence and it seems like the power of the Hanky Seal cannot bear the burden any longer without Maki noticing. Also, every Guild Master throughout the history was informed of this top secret prophecy that if ever the one who holds the Platinum Essence means that the end of the world is near.
