"Enough," Talon said lightly.
Mila stood next to Max, her cheeks swollen, making only "mumble" sounds, her eyes pleading. She realized that these two young people had powerful backgrounds, even making Max feel scared.
"Mr. Storm, please handle this woman!" Max hurriedly bowed and apologized.
Talon sneered at Max, saying, "Hmph, I won't handle her, lest it gets out that I bully women. But Max, we need to calculate the damages for wrecking the tavern. And bringing so many people here—are you trying to arrest me?"
Max repeatedly bowed and apologized, cold sweat pouring down his face. "Mr. Storm, I wouldn't dare! If I had known you were here, I wouldn't have come. I beg you, I'll pay for the damage at the tavern; please forgive me!"
Talon replied casually, "Alright, I'll fine you two million to pay Ali. From now on, this street isn't allowed to charge any management or protection fees. If you really have the ability, earn it with your own hands. If I see you bullying people again, I'll shut down your casino and add another soul to hell!"
"Yes, yes, I promise! I'll agree to everything!" Max replied urgently. 'Although the loss was significant, at least he saved his life.'
Under Azureblade's watchful gaze, Ali's phone dinged. After carefully counting the zeros, he could hardly believe his eyes; he had received two million.
"Ali, don't you think it feels pretty good to occasionally get smashed by someone?" Talon asked.
Ali's face turned red as he tightly grasped Talon's hand, saying, "Sir, you're Ali's savior, the savior of this street. I sincerely thank you!"
Talon said, "That's what I should do. By the way, Ali, are you interested in opening a tavern at Celestial Mall?"
Ali thought for a moment and suddenly exclaimed, "Celestial Mall? You mean the biggest commercial center in the north of the city? I've heard it's where all the rich people gather. How could someone like us go there?"
Talon interrupted him, saying, "That land is mine. If you want to go, just contact Mr. Carr; he will make arrangements for you. The rent at Celestial Mall won't cost you anything, and we'll split the profits fifty-fifty. I trust you to manage it."
"Sir, I…" Ali's eyes instantly became misty.
"Go ahead, settle down at Celestial Mall. I'll drop by when I have time," Talon said, finishing his last sip of drink and getting up to leave.
Max wiped his cold sweat, straightened up, and grinned, "Ali, you're amazing! You not only made me lose two million, but now you can open a tavern at Celestial Mall? Well, since we met like this, let's have a drink!"
Ali felt nervous and uneasy, saying, "Okay, okay… let's drink… um, Max, what if I return this two million to you?"
Max quickly refused. "Ali, don't say that! If Lord Azureblade finds out, he'll kill me! Enough talk; let's first take Sid and Mila to the hospital, then we can drink together!"
After a few rounds of drinks, Ali affectionately put his arm around Max and asked, "Max, can I ask why you're so scared of Mr. Storm? To me, he seems like just a soldier, but why are you afraid of him?"
"There are all kinds of soldiers: special forces, service soldiers, cooks… too many to count. But Mr. Storm has this bloody aura about him. I can only smell this scent when I'm killing, but I can smell it on Mr. Storm!" Max said with a burp, speaking quietly.
"Does that mean Mr. Storm has killed many people?" Ali asked nervously, fear evident in his voice.
Max chuckled, raising his glass again. "Old brother, stick close to Mr. Storm; he won't treat you badly. When you make it big, don't forget your old buddy. I'll be grateful for a lifetime if you can help me out!"
"Definitely, definitely!" Ali nodded in shock.
After leaving the tavern, Talon picked up Maisy from kindergarten. As soon as he dropped her off at home, he received a call from Ariya.
"Talon, where are you? I have a flat tire; can you come pick me up?" Ariya said, sounding a bit troubled.
"Okay, at your company?" Talon sensed something was off but didn't ask further.
"Yes, I'll be waiting downstairs in half an hour. Please hurry; don't be late," Ariya instructed.
After hanging up, Talon furrowed his brows. Azureblade asked, "General, is something wrong?"
Talon stroked Maisy's hair and instructed. "Have Nightwing watch over Maisy; you and I are going for a trip. We need to reach Ariya's company in half an hour!"
Azureblade hailed a taxi on the way. It was rush hour, and traffic was getting heavier, but with his superb driving skills, he managed to maintain high speed, reducing the original hour-long drive to just over twenty minutes.
Ariya anxiously waited for Talon at the company entrance. A Mercedes drove out of the Yuvi Group building and stopped in front of her.
A man with a cigarette poked his head out the window and said lewdly, "Ms. Willis, is it really that hard to have a drink with me? I just got back from abroad, and I don't understand much about the company's business; you need to teach me. Are you coming with me to Petal Hotel tonight, or will you be a little late on your own?"
This man was Harley Vance, Leo's son. Almost simultaneously with Leo's death, he returned home to take over Yuvi Group, being seen as Leo's successor and the next chairman.
Although Ariya held most of the shares in Yuvi Group, those shares weren't legally binding; it was just a verbal promise from Leo. Leo had planned to announce the transfer of shares to Ariya after discussing a business deal in the board meeting. However, unexpectedly, Leo died abroad just before the board meeting began.
"Sorry, Mr. Vance, but I genuinely have something to do today. I just called; my husband is here to pick me up. That's him crossing the street," Ariya said, trying to avoid directly rejecting him.
Harley glanced over, suddenly laughing disdainfully.
He said, "Your husband came to pick you up in just a pair of shorts? A man like that can't even afford a hundred-thousand-dollar car; what can he do? Have you heard the saying, 'I'd rather cry in a Mercedes than laugh on a bicycle'? Ms. Willis, I think you need to reconsider your choice. A useless man has no future."
"You don't need to worry about that, Mr. Vance," Ariya said, pulling Talon's hand as he just arrived, sounding displeased.
The more Harley looked at Talon, the more he felt he was useless. He mocked coldly, "What are you looking at? I was joking about liking your wife. I really don't understand why such a beautiful woman like Ariya would marry you."
He added, "Ariya, I think you're great; consider it carefully. You can either be with me or him; if you choose me, Yuvi Group is yours; if you choose him… heh, you won't have to come to work tomorrow!"
