Noelle seemed to be hit by something huge, murmuring, "Impossible! How can it be Vice President Ariya? There must be some misunderstanding; you announced it wrong. I don't believe it; it absolutely can't be her!"
Noelle looked dazed; if she hadn't had someone beside her for support, she would have fallen to the ground.
Before Brenton could say anything, Ariya displayed the authority of the chairman and said coolly, "How can it not be me? You didn't see wrong; I'm the one who acquired shares in Yuvi Group. I'm the new chairman now. Here's the contract for my acquisition of Yuvi Group."
She added, "Tomorrow, I'll make a copy and post it on the company bulletin board so you can check it anytime. I'm announcing ten company policies: First, Yuvi Group will be renamed Arilon Group starting today. The finance department will handle the name change, which must be completed within three days. Second, we'll eliminate all nepotism within the departments…"
Ariya recited the company rules, which matched exactly what Noelle had checked earlier.
After finishing the policies, Ariya said coldly, "I've read the ten regulations. Tomorrow, the HR department will distribute them to all departments. In the future, I'll establish new performance evaluation standards and incentive measures to ensure we don't lose talent."
She added, "The relevant guidelines will be released gradually in my future work. Now, I ask everyone to trust me; I will lead Arilon Group to a brighter future!"
"Okay!"
Someone was the first to speak up, and soon applause erupted, almost drowning Ariya out. As long as Talon Group didn't collapse, it didn't matter who was chairman to them.
After finishing her speech, Ariya turned and returned to her office, letting out a long sigh of relief.
There was a knock on the door, and Noelle walked in, looking nervous and ashamed. "Chair… Chairman, I want to apologize. I shouldn't have said what I did today, and I actually had no idea about the Petal Hotel incident. It was just misinformation that led me to believe it…"
"Noelle, do you know? What you said to me today was a borderline personal attack. I really don't know what I did to offend you. If you feel Arilon Group isn't suitable for you, you can resign," Ariya replied and then left.
"This…?" Noelle felt dizzy. Ariya actually told her to resign? Where would she find another job that paid over ten thousand?
Noelle slumped helplessly to the ground, a hint of anger brewing in her heart. 'Ariya, this is all because of you. If it weren't for you, would I end up like this? If Arilon Group doesn't want me, then fine, I'll leave. I don't believe I can't make it with two hundred thousand dollars!'
With that thought, Noelle found an unexpected strength and scoffed at her colleagues. "You're all scared of Ariya, but I'm not afraid of her! You all know how she got her position. I, Noelle, am putting this out there: in five years, Ariya will be begging me!"
Saying that, Noelle ignored the surprised looks from everyone and strode back to her office.
Just then, three police officers walked in from outside. The leading officer glanced at the picture in his hand and approached Noelle.
"You must be Noelle, right?" the officer asked in a deep voice.
"Yes, what do you want?" Noelle was completely confused; why were the police here?
"We received a report, and upon investigation, you've been selling various confidential information from Yuvi Group since three years ago. You're suspected of commercial leakage. Furthermore, you accepted bribes and poached internal talent for Yuvi Group's competitors, which violates commercial law. Please come with us to assist with the investigation!"
"What… this can't be! Officer, you must be mistaken; I haven't leaked anything!" Noelle panicked. She thought what she did wouldn't be found out; how could the police come after her now?
"Ms. Noelle, please cooperate with our work. We wouldn't arrest someone without evidence. Please think carefully. If you refuse to cooperate, we will take forceful measures!" The officer's tone was very firm.
"I… I didn't, waah…" Noelle broke down in tears.
"If I had known this would happen, I wouldn't have acted that way in the first place," a female officer stepped forward, grabbing Noelle and dragging her outside.
"I can't believe it! Noelle is actually this kind of person!"
"So that's why my collaborations fell through; it was Noelle pulling the strings!"
The colleagues who used to call her "Noelle" suddenly realized what was happening, and the office erupted in furious shouting.
"Talon, seeing Noelle get taken away, I can't believe this…" Ariya sat in her Rolls-Royce and called Talon.
Talon replied indifferently, "Don't be too merciful. Sometimes, mercy towards enemies is cruelty to oneself; remember that. Now that you're the president of Yuvi Group, that car doesn't suit you. I'll get you a new one later."
Ariya thought for a moment and realized Talon had a point, so she decided not to dwell on Noelle's matter.
Jokingly, she said, "You'll get me a new one? I don't even know how much I owe Ralphy! Just so you know, I borrowed that money, and I'll pay you back later. Oh, right, I renamed Yuvi Group to Arilon Group… you know what that means…" After saying this, Ariya quickly hung up, her heart racing.
Talon hung up, a hint of joy in his brow. It seemed that after a month of being together, Ariya was slowly beginning to accept him.
