Chapter 67

Suddenly, the surroundings fell silent; they could see clearly that this unmodified Rolls-Royce was weaving through the road like a ghost. The rugged winding road seemed to have no effect on it, as it took only thirty minutes to reach the finish line—at least half the time of their previous record! The door of the passenger seat was pushed open, and Nia, pale and trembling, got out of the car and stumbled toward a less crowded area. However, before she could take a step, she crouched down and started throwing up violently. Talon leisurely got out, leaned against the car, and quietly watched. "If you can't handle your drink, don't drink. Drinking and then throwing up—aren't you just wasting it?" Nia was too busy throwing up to pay him any attention. "Mr. Storm, you… thirty minutes and four seconds! You've broken the record on this road!" Jerry came over, excitement written all over his face. Their original record was over fifty minutes, and Talon had smashed it by such a margin. How could these racing enthusiasts not be thrilled? Talon pondered for a moment. "Oh? Is that so? I drove imperfectly in eight spots, mainly because I'm not familiar with this road. If you give me another chance, I could improve the record by another minute. Of course, if I had a modified car, I could break it by ten minutes." Jerry was stunned, then looked at Talon with a hint of admiration. Talon drove so well; if he could be his apprentice, maybe he could even place in world-class competitions. Just as Jerry was about to speak, the roar of an engine broke out on the road, and the lead boy shouted, "Bro, my good bro! Please tell me how to drive faster! The taillights I chased after kept getting further away! Bro, I don't want that woman anymore; I just want you to stay and teach us how to drive!" The Ferrari finally came to a stop, and the lead boy jumped out. "Bro, no, Master! Please, I beg you to take me as your apprentice! Your driving is too cool; I've never seen anything like it! I'll pay you a hundred thousand a month—no, I'll give you two hundred thousand! Please accept me as your disciple!" Jerry's expression darkened; all his carefully prepared lines were spoken by Eli instead. "Eli, what are you doing? Get up quickly! There are so many people here; what will they think? You should speak to Mr. Storm properly; he might take me—no, take you as his disciple!" "Oh, okay, okay. Mr. Storm, how about…" Eli scampered over to Talon, a wide grin on his face. Just as Talon was about to refuse, Nia, having finished throwing up, suddenly stood up and walked over with a fierce look. Nia furiously said, "You call him Mr. Storm? Good, I'll remember you! We need to settle our accounts. Now I'm asking you to drive me home immediately! Once I'm home and changed, I'll have a proper talk with you!" She wouldn't have said anything, but as soon as she did, Eli was unhappy. He raised an eyebrow and said, "What do you mean by that? Although my master drives amazingly and many women admire him, there's no need for you to be so anxious, right?" He asked, "You're going home? After I become his disciple, I'll book a room for you guys at the hotel in Philadelphia, and then everything will be resolved!" "What did you say? I'll kill you, you bastard!" Nia was furious and chased after Eli to hit him. Aware that she was a woman and also his master's girl, Eli called out while running, "What I said is true! The hotel is convenient; no one will manage us, and we can do whatever we want!" "I'll kill you!" Nia was so enraged she could spit blood. In the end, it was Talon who stepped in to stop Nia, agreeing to Eli that he would guide him when he had time. Only then did Eli agree to let them leave. Talon drove Nia home, and throughout the ride, Nia sat in the passenger seat sulking, not saying a word to Talon. When the car reached a villa in the suburbs of Pennsylvania, Nia got out and opened the door. She turned back to Talon, coldly saying, "You just wait here. I'll change clothes, then come out to deal with you. I'm telling you, as long as I'm here, you can't go anywhere! If you make me angry, I'll have you wanted all over Philadelphia, claiming you assaulted me!" "Miss, can you be a bit reasonable?" Talon looked up at her, his voice tinged with helplessness. Nia exploded at this. "Who's being unreasonable? You hid in the women's restroom and spied on me; do you still have the nerve to argue? Let me tell you, not reporting you to the police and having you arrested is already giving you face!" Their shouting attracted the housekeeper, who crawled out of the bedroom, threw on some clothes, and immediately became alert when she saw Nia reeking of alcohol and bringing a man home at midnight. "Miss, should we call the bodyguard to have him arrested?" The housekeeper glared at Talon fiercely. "No need, Wendy. Just keep an eye on him while I change," Nia said, casting Talon another warning glance. Talon, feeling helpless, walked over to the sofa and was about to sit down when he heard Wendy coldly say, "You just stand there and don't move! This is the Gordon family in Pennsylvania. Allowing you in here is already incredibly generous. Besides, you've spied on our young lady. Just wait until she comes down and see how she deals with you!" "You didn't even ask about the circumstances before shouting at me. What if you've misunderstood?" Talon ignored Wendy and sat on the sofa. Wendy became even angrier, walking up to Talon and pointing her finger at his nose. "You're so bold! I didn't said to sit down, did I? Whatever the young lady says goes. If we've misunderstood, just you wait; you better bow down and beg for the young lady's forgiveness if you want to leave the Gordon family in one piece!"
