The crowd rushed forward to see what was happening. On the stone's smooth cut, seven colors sparkled faintly, like a rainbow, stunning everyone.
"This... this... is it Multi-colored Stone? Could the legend really be true?"
"That's right, it's definitely the Multi-colored Stone, also known as the Rainbow Stone. This is going to be a huge profit for him!"
"Oh my gosh, I can't believe I'm actually seeing the Multi-colored Stone in my lifetime! Five years ago, it sold for a staggering one billion at the Nexa Auction!"
"One billion? You're underestimating this stone! If it's turned into jewelry or a handle, it could be worth several times that. It's incredibly rare after all!"
Upon seeing the Multi-colored Stone, Nia's eyes sparkled with excitement. Who would've thought this seemingly ordinary rough stone would turn out to be top-notch? With its color and size, it could easily be made into a handle for her grandfather. He'd be thrilled to have it!
"Mr. Storm, can you believe it? The Multi-colored Stone has appeared! You're so lucky!" Nia exclaimed, a bit too excited as she tightly grabbed Talon's arm.
The noise from the stone-cutting machine had already attracted a group of wealthy people. One approached Talon and asked, "Sir, are you selling that Multi-colored Stone? If you're willing, I'll offer five hundred million cash!"
A hefty man walked up to Talon, saying, "Don't be ridiculous. The Multi-colored Stone at the Nexa Auction wasn't even this big and sold for one billion. Five hundred million? Please! Brat, sell it to me for one and a half billion!"
Everyone gasped in disbelief. They had just heard that Talon had bought it for one hundred thousand, and now its value had increased fifteen hundred times! They looked at Talon with envy, urging him to sell it. This was practically a no-risk deal!
"Sorry, but this stone isn't mine," Talon said, gesturing towards Nia beside him.
"Oh, I'm not selling this stone. I plan to give it to my grandfather as a gift," Nia snapped back, recovering from her shock and offering an apologetic look to the hefty businessman.
"What a shame..." the businessman said, eyeing the Multi-colored Stone with regret.
Suddenly, a sly look flashed in Mr. Curtis's eyes as he stood up with the rough stone. "Wait a second, who said this stone isn't for sale? It's mine, and I get to decide who to sell it to! Oh, miss, I'm sorry, but this stone has already been promised to Kayden. I got caught up in cutting the stone and didn't realize it!"
"Really?" The businessman's eyes lit up with excitement.
"What are you talking about? This stone was clearly picked by him, and I paid for it! You can check the transfer records!" Nia protested, almost fainting from frustration.
"This stone was sold to my wife last night for Kayden. I didn't know that when I sold it to you today. According to our betting agreement, I can return ten times your money, but it was a mistake on our end. I suggest you take the deal. Making nine hundred thousand profit on a quick turnaround isn't a bad deal!" Mr. Curtis grinned, showing no intention of returning the stone to Nia.
The bystanders nodded along. They knew Mr. Curtis was being shady, but mentioning Kayden instantly changed the atmosphere. Kayden was the biggest boss in the market, and there was nothing he couldn't handle. After all, it wasn't their money at stake; they were more than happy to owe Kayden a favor.
"No way! I bought this stone, and whether your wife sold it or not is her business. Give me the stone now!" Nia demanded, reaching out her hand.
Mr. Curtis pulled out his phone and dialed a number. "What's up? Are you planning to rob me? Hey, Kayden? You need to come see this; these two are insisting on your stone from yesterday. Yeah, someone's offering one and a half billion to buy it. If it sells, we'll split it. Great, I'll wait for you!"
Mr. Curtis hung up the phone, boasting, "Just wait for Kayden to arrive; let's see what he has to say. You think you can mess with me? Not a chance!"
"Mr. Storm, I'm calling my dad to handle this!" Nia pulled out her phone. With her father Baron's influence, dealing with Mr. Curtis shouldn't be an issue.
"No need. Let's see what Kayden has to say when he arrives." Talon smiled lightly, not worried at all. He was curious to see what these people would do for one and a half billion.
Before long, several cars pulled up to the market. A man in a suit stepped out of a Porsche, wearing a gold chain around his neck. Hanging from the chain was a large piece of jade carved into the Thousand-Handed Guanyin, clearly a symbol of immense wealth.
"Kayden!" People on both sides recognized him and hurriedly greeted him.
However, Kayden ignored them, striding over to Mr. Curtis, flanked by more than twenty people. He raised an eyebrow and asked, "Mr. Curtis, who's insisting on my stone? Don't you know I paid for it yesterday?"
Seeing Kayden, Mr. Curtis felt more confident. "Haha, Kayden, you're just in time! It's this little lady right here who opened up this stone. I said it's for you, but she claims she already paid for it, so it should belong to her."
He added, "Tell me, where's the logic in that? I offered her a million, and she wasn't happy. I couldn't help but pass it over to you!"
Kayden followed Mr. Curtis's finger and saw Nia, his eyes narrowing slightly. This girl was stunningly beautiful.
Kayden licked his lips and smiled. "Why offer only one million? That's too low. Miss, I paid for this stone last night, but Mr. Curtis didn't know, so he sold it to you by mistake. But since this is the Multi-colored Stone, how about I give you ten million? Just... how about you join me for dinner tonight?"
Mr. Curtis burst out laughing. "Haha, Kayden's offering ten million, so it's ten million! Little girl, you should be grateful. Having dinner with Kayden is like hitting the jackpot! I'll transfer the money right now, so you'd better accept it!"
Mr. Curtis pulled out his phone to transfer the money, and Nia hurriedly said, "No way! You claimed you bought this stone yesterday, so show me the transfer proof and the receipt! If you can't, it means you're lying. I'm taking this stone no matter what!"
Kayden sneered, "Miss, I wanted to settle this quietly, but your words clearly show you're not giving me any face. Mr. Curtis and I have been friends for years; when have I ever needed to pay for his stones? I advise you not to be unreasonable. Just one night with me could earn you ten million. You'd be living the good life!"
