"You're talking about Martin Lowe, right? Mr. Lowe from Pennsylvania?" Nia asked in surprise.
Mr. Curtis replied honestly, "Yes! I once did a small favor for Mr. Lowe, and he said he owed me one. Luckily, he's here today, working upstairs. I'm sure he'll help you!"
Nia felt a bit tempted. She looked at Talon, and he signaled for her to decide.
Concerned that Mr. Curtis might be lying—after all, it was worth billions—she thought for a moment and then said, "Alright, I'll leave the Multi-colored Stone here. I'm part of the Gordon family from Pennsylvania, and this stone is for my grandfather's birthday celebration. If you dare to play any tricks, just know I'll have my father wipe out your entire family!"
Mr. Curtis broke out in a cold sweat. 'The Gordon family from Pennsylvania is a prominent family. No wonder this brat seems unfazed after killing a few people; they are all from the Gordon family. How ridiculous was it that I got so crazy for money that I aimed at the Gordon family's daughter?'
"Rest assured, I'll definitely remind Martin and ensure he won't disappoint the miss!" Mr. Curtis bowed deeply.
Nia gently nodded and walked out of the market with Talon. As they passed by, everyone looked at them with envy and fear, and Nia suddenly felt a rush of satisfaction, her cheeks turning red.
"Are you feeling unwell? Why is your face so red?" After walking for a while, Talon noticed Nia's flushed face and asked in surprise.
Nia quickly avoided his gaze and tried to stay calm. "What do you mean red? It's just hot out, that's all! There's a park over there. You sit for a bit, and I'll go get some water."
Talon watched her walk away, shaking his head, then strolled into the park. He wandered for a bit before sitting down on a bench, enjoying the rare sunshine.
"Hey there, young man. What brings you out here on such a lovely afternoon?" An old man sat down on the same bench, leaning on his cane and striking up a conversation.
"Just taking a stroll," Talon replied coldly. His chilliness wasn't from his heart; it was just that he had seen too much death and could hardly muster any enthusiasm for anything.
"Just taking a stroll, huh? Heh, you're not married, are you?" The old man seemed displeased with Talon's attitude, squinting his eyes.
Talon frowned, not wanting to engage with the old man any longer.
The old man continued rambling, not caring about Talon's demeanor. "I'm telling you, today's society is not like before. If you don't have money, it's hard to even find a girlfriend. You seem like a good young man, so I advise you to find a job."
He added, "What will you do when you're old if you don't work hard now? Just for context, I spent a million on my daughter-in-law's bride price. If you don't have money, it'll be tough to get married!"
Talon scoffed, thinking the old man must be bored to brag about such things.
Just then, Nia walked over and overheard the old man's words.
Upset, she plopped down next to Talon. "Old man, what are you talking about? Who said he doesn't have a girlfriend? I just went to buy water and left him alone for a moment! Besides, what's a million? If he wanted to marry me, my dowry would be over a hundred billion!"
Talon took a sip of water, and Nia, seemingly unsatisfied, asked, "Hey, old man, compared to me, who's prettier and more feminine?"
The old man's face turned pale, and he stood up, tapping his cane against the ground as he trembled away.
"Hmph, serves you right for bragging!" Nia smirked, sneaking a glance at Talon, her face glowing with a pure smile.
Unbeknownst to them, after they killed Kayden, one of Kayden's subordinates hurriedly drove to the Richards family and reported, "Alan, it's bad! Kayden... Kayden's been killed at the jade market!"
"What?!" Alan dropped his drink in shock. The Richards family had five brothers, and Alan was the fourth. Kayden was the only heir left from his deceased brother. Hearing about Kayden's death, how could Alan not be stunned?
"What happened?" Alan's eyes turned bloodshot as he clenched his fists.
The subordinate replied with a mournful face, "I... I don't know! I was drinking with Kayden when Mr. Curtis from the jade market called about a stone worth 1.5 billion."
He added, "We went over, and the buyer was a man and a woman. Kayden barely said two words before that woman slapped him, and then that man just killed him! All six of our brothers were killed too!"
"Who are the ones who killed him?" Alan gritted his teeth, almost grinding them to dust as he asked. He knew his subordinate was deliberately hiding some details, but it didn't matter. Anyone who dared to kill a member of the Richards family had to pay the price.
The subordinate was in tears, begging. "I don't know who they are; all I know is that the guy said his last name is Storm. Alan, you have to seek justice for Kayden! We didn't do anything, and he was just killed! You don't understand; Kayden died so brutally—his throat was crushed!"
Alan waved his hand coldly, commanding, "I understand. Brick, Mack!"
"Mr. Richards!" Suddenly, two men in black appeared in the room, their eyes sharp and cold as they stared at Alan. These two were Alan's personal bodyguards, former mercenaries who had worked abroad and had even killed military personnel within the U.S.; murder and kidnapping were child's play for them.
With a dark expression, Alan ordered, "I want you to find that man and woman immediately and bring them to me! I want to see them with my own eyes before they pay for Kayden's death!"
