"You can count on us, Mr. Richards," Brick replied with a sneer.
Brick held up photos from the surveillance cameras while he and Mack cruised around in a business car. According to people at the jade market, the couple had driven a Rolls Royce, but since it was still parked there, it meant they hadn't gone far.
"Mack, do you think that's them?" Brick's eagle-like gaze swept across a bar, where he spotted Talon and Nia sitting under a sunshade outside.
"Well, look at that! Just when I thought it would be a struggle, here you are! You stay put, and I'll go grab them!" Mack parked the car and smirked slightly.
"Why the rush? Mr. Richards only said to bring them back, not when. That little lady looks like a rookie. How about we snag her first, have a little fun, and then report back? Honestly, with the Richards family after the Gordons, I haven't had a taste of a rookie in ages!" Brick leered at Nia, his gaze filled with something sinister.
Mack's eyes lit up as he checked out Nia's petite figure, swallowing hard. "You go first; I'll cover you. Hurry up and get him!"
"Haha, it's a deal!" Brick swung open the door of the SUV and headed toward Nia.
Just then, Nia had stepped away from the bar to take Dale's call. Worried about disturbing Talon, she moved to the side. "Dale, I've told you already, we can't be together. I agreed to go to Philadelphia yesterday, but what did you do?"
She added, "You got me drunk at the welcome dinner and then took me to a bar. I know exactly what you're up to. Just wait until the Gordon family ends their partnership with you and the Jins. I'll settle the scores with you later!"
"Nia, listen! It's not what you think!" Dale tried to explain, but Nia hung up on him.
"Hey there, miss. Isn't your boyfriend sitting right there? Who are you arguing with? Don't tell me you're two-timing him and are afraid of getting caught? Tsk tsk, you really are hard to please!" Brick was now right behind her, leering at Nia's figure with a sly smile.
He added, "Why not come to the car with me? I guarantee you'll have a good time!"
"Move aside; this isn't your business!" Nia said coldly, noticing Brick's imposing stature, and turned to head back to the bar.
"Your boyfriend killed Kayden, and you think you can just walk away?" Brick said, taking a drag from his cigarette and eyeing her sideways.
The mention of that name made Nia freeze for a moment. Then it hit her—was Kayden the one from the jade market?
"You're with that Kayden? Are you looking for revenge?" Nia quickly realized, preparing to scream for help, but Brick lunged forward and covered her mouth.
Brick spoke with a menacing tone, "If you scream, I'll kill you. At least you know who you've offended. To be honest, Kayden's uncle sent us to bring you back. You know what will happen when we do, right? But hey, you're pretty cute."
He added, "If you play nice with us, maybe we'll help you out. Who knows, you might just save your skin." With that, Brick covered Nia's mouth and dragged her to the car.
"Why didn't you catch that brat?" Mack was already waiting inside the car. As he looked at Nia, he reached out with a hand, glancing toward Talon.
Brick started to unbuckle his belt, laughing. "He's right there; you think he's going anywhere? We can have some fun with his girlfriend while keeping an eye on him. Nothing's wasted! Once we're done, we'll drag him in to watch his girlfriend get messed with right under his nose. How do you think that'll feel?"
Mack licked his lips and urged him on. "Haha, that's a nasty trick, but I like it! You go first, and I'll take my turn second. Hurry up; I don't know how much longer I can hold out!"
Both of them laughed heartily, while Nia was terrified, struggling and shouting, "What are you doing? Let me go! You just want money, right? Name your price, and my dad will pay you!"
"Haha, little girl, money doesn't mean much to us. We just want to have a good time. You better cooperate, or once we get you to Alan, we won't plead for you!" Brick had stripped down and was grinning smugly.
"You beasts! Let me go, now!" Nia felt like she'd been struck by lightning, cursing Dale in her mind. If he hadn't kept calling, she wouldn't have left Talon's side. Now, she was in danger of losing everything. Just when Brick was about to make his move, Nia saw her chance and bit down hard.
"Ah!"
Brick cried out, nearly having his finger bitten off. He looked down at Nia, her eyes bloodshot with fury, and slapped her hard. Nia's head spun, and she was momentarily stunned.
"You filthy b***h! How dare you bite me! I'll make you wish you hadn't!" Brick said, getting ready to tear off Nia's clothes.
Just then, a steady knock came from outside, interrupting everything.
"Who's there?" Brick tensed up, glancing at Mack.
"Just checking to see if you're done playing," Talon's voice rang out calmly.
Brick shot Mack a look, signaling for him to sneak out while he distracted Talon. "Brat, I don't understand what you're saying. Just get lost and don't waste my time!"
Talon sneered lightly and said, "Don't understand? Let me help you remember. When your car saw Nia and me, it stopped, which means you were looking for us all over the street. I just arrived in Pennsylvania yesterday; I don't have many enemies."
He added, "Just two hours ago, I took out a guy named Kayden at a gambling event. If you're here for revenge on Kayden, you should be looking for me."
Brick and Mack were stunned. 'This brat has noticed us all along? How is that possible? We are top-tier mercenaries; if someone spotted us, we would definitely feel it. Even the slightest move or glance from an enemy is something we could catch unless... this person has such strong mental resilience that he doesn't show any micro-expressions.'
