Talon was surprised. "Wait, you haven't received any replies from the twenty-four invitations Azureblade sent?"
Ariya pulled out her phone, frowning. "Yeah! The only call I got was from Grady at Apex Group. These companies could at least let me know if they're coming or not, right? Now I have no idea what to prepare. And wait… my phone's dead?"
Talon chuckled. "So what if it's dead? The renaming ceremony is tomorrow; those who want to come will show up. Come on, let's get Maisy. I'm treating you to a big meal!"
"Really?" Ariya's stomach growled, feeling a bit embarrassed. When Talon wasn't around, she worried he wouldn't make it back in time for the ceremony, so she was swamped with work. By mealtime, she just grabbed takeout. Now that he was back, she was starving.
"Of course! Let's get a good meal! I'll even order that expensive lobster for you," Talon teased.
"Then you're done for; I could eat a whole cow!" Ariya laughed, her smile blooming like peach blossoms in the chairman's office. They walked down the stairs one after the other, and the employees of Arilon Group greeted them respectfully as Ariya nodded back with a smile.
When they reached the ground floor, the head of security straightened up upon seeing them and called out loudly, "Hello, Chairman!"
In front of Chace, Talon said to Ariya, "Oh, I almost forgot because Chace didn't mention it. It seems that Arilon Group still doesn't have a head of security. I suggest we let Chace take the position. He has been with your group for three years; he should be capable of overseeing security and getting things done. What do you think, Chairman?"
Ariya shot Talon an annoyed glance and said, "You've already decided; why are you even asking me?"
She then turned to Chace and said, "Chace, I'll notify the HR department tomorrow to issue an appointment. Since Talon says you can handle it, then you should indeed be capable. I'm completely entrusting the security work of Arilon Group to you; please don't let me down."
"Thank you, Chairman! Thank you, Mr. Storm!" Chace said, filled with excitement.
At that moment, Jensen, who was guarding the door, finally spotted Ariya. He rushed in recklessly, shouting, "Ariya, it's me! I'm Jensen. Grandpa sent me to find you!"
"Someone take him away! Do not disturb the Chairman after work!" Chace immediately exerted the authority of the head of security and ordered sternly.
Seeing Jensen, Ariya was reminded of what he had said to her back when they were with the Willis family. With a gloomy expression, she walked up to Jensen, sneering. "Isn't this Jensen from the Willis family? What exactly are you doing here?"
Jensen retorted, "Ariya, no matter what you say, I will always be your brother, right? Now that you've made it big and are doing well, do you not even recognize your cousin? I came to your group to talk to you, and yet I can't even get in the door. Is this how you treat your brother?"
Jensen was a bit irritated. He had been waiting for two days, and every time he tried to get in, he was stopped by security.
What was even more frustrating was that the security guard had just hit him. If it weren't for the need to convince Ariya to bring the Willis family into the Talon Group, he might have exploded with anger.
Ariya didn't wait for security to explain. Coldly, she said, "I'm the one who instructed security to do this. I've been very busy these past few days to avoid unnecessary disturbances. Since you're here, I'll announce the matter regarding the Willis family."
She added, "After consideration, my grandfather has appointed you as the honorary director of Arilon Group, without involvement in its management, but with a monthly salary of one hundred thousand. As for you and the main direct relatives of the Willis family, I'll also arrange salaries for you, but you are not allowed to set foot in Arilon Group."
She continued, "How does that sound? Are you satisfied with this outcome?" Ariya felt a sense of satisfaction, as this was how Mateo had treated her before, and now she was returning the favor. The monthly expense would only be around two hundred thousand, which she could afford even for ten or twenty years.
"Ariya, if you still care about the past, I apologize here," Jensen said, holding back his anger and bowing deeply, forming a 90-degree angle with the ground, which was the best he could do.
Ariya was slightly surprised. 'Jensen was actually apologizing?'
Jensen straightened up, his face full of pleading. "Ariya, I truly need to beg you. Even if you give us a salary of ten thousand a month, the Willis family won't be able to survive. The Willis family is in the construction business, with only a thirty percent profit margin."
He added, "Besides, we have to pay upfront for the construction, and we only get paid when the project is completed. My grandfather has already spent all the loans from the bank, and he is being pressured to repay them. Ariya, if you don't give the Willis family some shares, we will really be finished!"
Ariya was somewhat surprised, realizing how dire the situation for the Willis family had become. However, her heart did not soften; instead, she coldly replied, "This seems to be a matter for the Willis family and has nothing to do with me."
She added, "Don't forget, my grandfather has already expelled me from the Willis family; I'm no longer a member of it. The reason I'm willing to give you salaries is purely for my father's sake. I can't save the Willis family; you'll have to find someone else!"
After saying this, Ariya took Talon's arm and got into a Bentley, which slowly drove away.
Watching the taillights of the Bentley, Jensen's expression gradually became fierce. "Ariya, if you won't let me have it easy, then don't expect to be at ease either!"
