'Sixty billion could be transferred at any moment. Who is this woman?' Ariya was a little stunned as well. She looked at the woman who had just walked in—it seemed she didn't know her either. Why was this woman insisting on making her the Vice-Chairman?
Ralphy glanced back at the woman and couldn't help but smile. "Oh? What's this? Is the Gordon family also interested in developing the Skinthall Range?"
The CEOs all froze at the same time. 'The Gordon family? The Gordon family... She's actually from Pennsylvania's wealthiest family, the Gordon family.' The CEOs immediately straightened up, standing respectfully, their eyes following Nia as she moved.
Even though none of them knew her, just the fact that Pennsylvania's top family was involved in the Skinthall Range development meant this project was bound to be a hit. If they had known this earlier, they would have gone all in, no matter the cost, to be part of this development.
The woman who had just arrived was Nia. "Mr. Hill, hello. Is he... not here?" Nia reached out her hand and glanced behind him as she asked.
"For something this small, why would he come?" Ralphy laughed as he shook Nia's hand. He had known her for about three years, ever since the day Skysoar Group was founded, when Nia had come along with Kieran to congratulate him. However, due to the lack of business interactions over the past couple of years, they had seen less of each other.
Nia sighed, then added, "That's too bad. I overheard outside that Skysoar Group is investing in the Skinthall Range but is still short by 30% of the shares. I'll cover the rest of the funds, but I want to be Chairman, and Ariya will be the Vice-Chair. Do you have any objections?"
"I have no objections, but our major shareholder is Ms. Willis. You'd better ask her." Ralphy pointed to Alvin as he spoke.
Alvin, hearing that she was the daughter of the Gordon family, immediately perked up and quickly said, "It is my great honor that Ms. Gordon has come to Philadelphia and to Ariya's company!"
He added, "Let me introduce myself. I'm Alvin, the deputy mayor of the city and the person in charge of the Skinthall Range project. I fully support Ms. Gordon's idea and am confident that under your leadership, Skinthall Range will be the most high-profile project in the city!"
"Great, I'll thank you in advance," Nia said, looking at Ariya. She observed her with a kind of admiration in her eyes, but at the same time, Nia was puzzled. What was it about Ariya that had allowed her to win over that Middle Eastern general so completely?
"Ms. Gordon, do we... know each other?" Ariya felt uneasy under Nia's gaze. She suddenly remembered Talon mentioning something about helping the Gordon family that one day. Could it be her?
"Ms. Willis, we'll talk about our matter later. Didn't Mr. Hill say there were three things to discuss? We still have two more." Nia sat down beside Ariya, warmly holding her hand.
Ariya had her doubts, but for now, she could only keep them to herself, waiting for Ralphy to continue.
"Alright, since the Skinthall Range investment has been settled, I'll move on to the second matter." Ralphy pulled out the second contract.
Suddenly, Grady interrupted, shamelessly saying, "Hold on, Mr. Hill, Ms. Gordon, I think the Skinthall Range project shouldn't be led by the city. I can buy out Ms. Willis's shares."
He added, "I've thought it through. Apex Group may be struggling, but we're not short of this 8 billion. Ms. Willis, I'll pay the full price to buy your shares. You wouldn't have any objections, right?"
Alvin was once again taken aback. 'If someone's willing to buy it, even better. That's 8 billion right there. If he can sell it, this would be a huge political achievement for me. Even the mayor would have to take notice of me after this.'
Another person stood up and coldly said, "Mr. Somerford, that's pretty low of you. Just now, you said your group could only spare 2 billion. How could Ms. Willis possibly accept your offer? Ms. Willis, why not sell your shares to me? I'll also buy them outright!"
"Archer, what the hell are you saying? So you're determined to compete with me?" Grady flew into a rage, glaring at Archer.
Archer, looking innocent, responded, "What do you mean, compete? You said it yourself, and everyone heard it. Are you planning to deny it now?"
Cohen, who had been silent for a while, suddenly laughed and said, "Why don't you both stop fighting? Just give the shares to me. I made a call earlier, and my group just received a payment, which is enough to buy Ms. Willis's shares!"
Grady gritted his teeth. "Fine! You two really want to fight me for this? I'll add 5 billion more. Let's see who Ms. Willis sells to!"
"Grady, don't push it. Does your Apex Group even have 85 billion?" Archer had completely fallen out with Grady over the shares.
Grady, feeling triumphant, said, "Whether we have it or not is none of your business. I'm in for the long haul. Not happy? Then go ahead and raise your bid, and we'll settle this through an on-the-spot auction!"
"Auction it is! You think I'm scared of you? I'll offer—" Archer slammed the table, about to stand up.
Ralphy frowned, and an air of authority filled the room. Grady and Archer immediately fell silent, glaring at each other in frustration. "Enough! We're all working in Philadelphia. I don't want to see you two bickering."
He added, "This is the first time, and I hope it will be the last. If you argue again in front of me, Skysoar Group will use every resource available to crush your companies!" Ralphy said coldly, his face stern.
Grady and Archer both shivered. Looking at Ralphy's expression, they realized he wasn't joking. "Mr. Hill, we were wrong," they both said at the same time, exchanging glances.
Ralphy's expression softened slightly as he nodded and said, "If you really want to join the Skinthall Range project, here's an option: Ms. Willis holds 40% of the shares."
He added, "She will keep 10%, and the remaining 30% will be split into three parts. Each share is 10%, and each will cost 2 billion. If you agree, talk to Ms. Willis after I finish. If not, then forget it, and pretend I never said anything."
Grady and Archer both nodded. To be honest, holding 40% between them was too much to handle. But if they divided it the way Ralphy suggested—20 billion each—they could manage that if they gritted their teeth.
"Alright, let's follow Mr. Hill's suggestion. Please continue," Alvin said eagerly. In fact, the city had already made arrangements. As long as someone was willing to develop the Skinthall Range, the base price would be 4 billion. He could flip it for an instant 2 billion profit, plus 10% of the shares. It was a fantastic deal.
Ralphy waved the contract in his hand and gave Ariya a knowing look. "The second matter is about Ariya. She is transferring all of her shares in Arilon Inc. to Lord Willis. This is the contract she prepared earlier, and I happened to bring it from the business administration office. If both parties have no objections, you can sign it now."
