Ralphy handed the final document to Ariya. Though he didn't speak loudly, everyone in the room could hear him clearly. "You'll understand soon enough. I've secured the business license for Arilon LLC. from the Commerce Administration, along with the tax records and company seal."
He added, "I'm handing them all over to Ariya now. The document clearly states that Ariya is the sole investor in Arilon LLC. and has all the rights to the company. It even notes that her office is located in South City. The Commerce Administration has ordered her to move all available office equipment there within a week, and they'll conduct an inspection then."
He continued, "Ms. Willis, I heard that the Willis family is handling the renovations in South City. Although the work isn't fully complete, it should be functional enough for now. Sorry for the inconvenience, but Lord Willis seems to be in quite a hurry."
Ariya was confused. The business license Ralphy handed her did indeed have her name on it, with a registered capital of 100 billion.
But hadn't Arilon LLC. been transferred to her grandfather? Suddenly, her eyes widened. If she remembered correctly, the transfer agreement had been for "Arilon Inc.," whereas this business license was for "Arilon LLC.." The difference of just two words meant a world of difference.
The simplest explanation: a limited liability company usually has one investor, and its shares can't easily be transferred or publicly traded. But a joint-stock company can have multiple investors, requires a board of directors and shareholders' meetings, and can be listed on the stock exchange.
What Ariya held was the license for "Arilon LLC.," meaning she had full ownership and all the office equipment belonged to her. As for her grandfather, all he got was an empty shell. If Mateo gained anything, it was just three months' rent from Arilon Inc. Once this clicked, Ariya felt as if the sky had cleared, and even the air she breathed seemed fresher.
Seeing the relieved expression on Ariya's face, Ralphy relaxed as well. The mission his superior had entrusted to him was finally complete.
"Ms. Willis, congratulations on officially gaining control of Arilon Group. If you ever face a funding gap, just let me know. Skysoar Group will do everything in its power to support the development of Arilon Group," Ralphy said, pulling a business card from his pocket.
"Mr. Hill, thank you, thank you so much," Ariya said quickly, receiving the card with both hands and offering a small bow to Ralphy.
Ralphy stepped aside, avoiding her bow. "Ms. Willis, the person you should be thanking isn't me. You know, I'm just an employee. The real person who wants to help you is someone else, and I think you know who that is. Please make sure you run Arilon Group well—don't disappoint them!"
At this point, all the CEOs present had figured it out. Skysoar Group wasn't supporting the Willis family or Mateo; they were supporting Ariya. The CEOs who had previously tried to cozy up to Lord Willis immediately changed sides, now directing their flattering words toward Ariya.
"So, Ms. Willis is the real chairman of Arilon Group. Forgive us—the two companies' names are just too similar, and we got confused. Really, we're so sorry for this misunderstanding. We'll take the blame for this one. Ms. Willis, where's your new office located? Let us know so we can come by and show our support!"
Seeing the CEOs suddenly swarm around her with questions, Ariya smiled sweetly. It no longer felt like today's humiliation had been humiliating at all—after all, Arilon Group had always belonged to her.
Nia gracefully stood up, catching the attention of everyone in the room. She spoke in a casual tone, "Since Mr. Hill has finished, I'll announce two things. First, the Gordon family will be opening a branch office in Philadelphia. As for the location, Ms. Willis, do you happen to have any space left?"
Ariya was taken aback but nodded. "I do have space, though the renovations aren't finished yet. I hope it won't be too inconvenient for you, Ms. Gordon."
Nia chuckled and took Ariya's hand. "Just call me Nia, no need to be formal. I'll set up the branch there, and I'll make sure you're happy with the rent every month."
Ariya smiled and was about to decline, but Nia continued. "The second thing is that I'm here on behalf of the Gordon family to discuss a partnership with Arilon Group."
She added, "The Gordon family owns supermarkets nationwide, and we can sell clothes there. We've decided to sign an exclusive deal with Arilon Group to purchase all of its fashion line for our stores. If Ariya agrees, the contract will be worth 10 billion."
The CEOs in the room were stunned. The Gordon family wasn't just setting up a branch office in Philadelphia; they were also offering a 10-billion-dollar contract—a massive deal.
Even though many of these CEOs were worth billions themselves, hearing the Gordon family commit so readily to such a large order was still surprising. If Arilon Group succeeded with this deal, they could instantly rise to the status of a major family.
Alvin also trembled slightly at the news, but he remained silent as he looked at Ariya. His mind was entirely focused on the Skinthall Range development project. Business matters like this weren't his expertise, and he had no desire to get involved.
"Ten billion is just the scale for the first quarter. If Arilon Group's clothes sell well, the same amount will follow in the next three quarters—it's not a big deal," Nia said, brushing it off. For the Gordon family, 10 billion was nothing more than a drop in the ocean, a sum they could afford to lose without any concern.
Suddenly, Nia's expression turned serious. She looked around at everyone present and said, "In short, whether it's Arilon Group or the Skinthall Range project, I'm making it clear on behalf of the Gordon family that we stand with Ariya, no matter what."
She added, "Spread the word: whoever dares to cross Ariya will be crossing the Gordon family. And if you offend the Gordon family, even if you manage to escape hell, we'll hunt you down and grind your bones to dust!"
