"Whatever you guys come to do, she'll do too." Talon also got out of the car and stood next to Ariya. "As long as there's a business that makes money, why can't Ariya do it if you can?"

"Sure, of course she can!" Lord Willis snarled as soon as he saw Talon, his anger barely contained.

"Talon, I warned you. Right now, you have Jack protecting you, so others dare not touch you. But what will you do the day Jack stops protecting you? Ariya is no longer part of the Willis family. Whether you live or die in the future has nothing to do with us. Just don't drag the Willis family down with you!" He added.

Talon smiled, while Ariya looked bitterly at her grandfather.

'Grandpa, how could you not know? Skysoar Group… it's Talon's company.'

With a leader like this, the downfall of the Willis family was only a matter of time.

But Ariya couldn't say anything. Even if she did, her grandfather definitely wouldn't accept it right away.

Thinking of this, Ariya quietly said, "Grandpa, Talon won't drag the Willis family down. You can rest assured about that."

She added. "We're here to acquire a piece of land in the southern part of the city. The government officials are already here. Why don't we go inside and talk?"

"Hmph, you'd better be right!" Mateo stepped into the government building, using his cane to push Ariya aside. "Move!"

Ariya bit her lip but didn't say a word, quietly waiting for the Willis family members to leave.

"With your current strength, you could easily stop him," Talon squinted his eyes.

Both he and Ariya knew that the Willis family had no profitable business left. They were here with a cobbled-together ten million, making one last attempt for the family.

"Forget it, he's still my grandfather, no matter how he treats me." Ariya sighed, then asked doubtfully, "But the merger of the three factories... Do you think the city government will agree?"

"You'll know once you go in and find out, won't you?" Talon reached out to take Ariya's hand, heading toward the government building.

There weren't many people in the government building usually, but ever since a mysterious group got involved, more people had come to bid on various projects.

Mateo stood among the crowd, feeling somewhat uneasy and anxious.

The Willis family, at its peak, was only a middle-upper-class family, but today, even the least influential family here was a prominent one from Philadelphia.

Mateo swallowed nervously. Without Tony, he didn't know if he could accomplish this.

Just then, a man in a suit walked through the door.

"Mr. Baker, why didn't you rest a little longer at home? Why did you come so early?"

"Exactly, Mr. Baker. Our matters aren't urgent; we can wait a little longer for you!"

"Mr. Baker, I'm from the Baker family in Philadelphia. Here, have a cigarette please."

The people waiting around immediately gathered, unable to hide the flattery on their faces.

This man was Dominik Baker, a senior official in the city government. Skysoar Group had already been in contact with him.

Yet, he didn't recognize Ariya, so he cleared his throat. "The planning for the southern part of the city is a big deal. Our team is working overtime to handle the approvals. Let me be clear: bidding is based on merit. If I catch wind of any bribery attempts, don't expect any favors from me!"

Dominik's voice was cold, and many on the scene were startled.

It seemed today's bidding would indeed be very difficult.

"In five minutes, I'll be in the office at the end of the hallway, where the bidding for the central location in the southern part of the city will take place. Anyone interested in participating should come and present their proposal, explaining your family's strengths. We will make our choice based on the needs."

With that, Dominik disappeared at the end of the hallway.

All the participants immediately lined up at the door. Five minutes later, the door opened, and those at the front rushed in, closing the door behind them.

'Ah, someone got ahead of us!'

The rest grew increasingly nervous, swallowing hard.

'Next time, we need to be quicker; getting in first gives you the chance to secure the deal.'

Just as they were all ready to sprint, the door suddenly opened, and the first person to go in came out.

From the time he went in until he came out, it was only ten seconds. Ten seconds weren't even enough to introduce himself, let alone present a proposal.

"Dude, you were too fast!" A young man from a prominent family stared in shock.

"Well... Mr. Baker said we should go in batches. You can go in and see for yourselves." The first person still didn't understand what had happened. He had just walked in and said his name when Dominik told him to leave his proposal and go out.

Everyone looked at each other, and eventually, fifteen people went in together.

But in less than a minute, all fifteen of them came out, and all of them looked dejected.

Ariya was a little scared and tugged at Talon, saying, "Talon, this bidding seems strict. Should we... leave?"

"Leave? Why would we leave?" Talon smiled. "Get ready. It's your turn."

"But... but I only have a contract, not even a proposal!" Ariya said, her face showing distress.

"Your contract is enough." Talon pointed at the door. "Hurry, go in."

"This..." Ariya was at a loss for words. With no other choice, she walked toward the door.

Just then, Mateo and Jensen, who also wanted to try their luck, met her at the door.

"Ariya, do you really think Mr. Baker will hand over the southern development project to you? Stop dreaming!" Mateo didn't say anything, but his face had already darkened. It was Jensen who spoke dismissively.
