Chapter 47

Insolence and Chaos squinted their eyes for a moment and then charged forward. The two seemed to have coordinated well, with one attacking Talon's head from the left and the other targeting his thigh from the right, forcing Talon into a defensive stance. Meanwhile, both of them had their hands on their waists, where they kept their military daggers. Ariya was stunned and instinctively covered her eyes. Their movements were so fast that Ariya couldn't react at all. They were fast, but Talon was faster. Without moving his body, Talon reached out and grabbed the arm attacking his head, then executed a sweeping motion to deflect the attack from the left. Insolence staggered, unable to pull out his military dagger. In the split second, Talon shook his arm, and with a snap, Chaos's arm was dislocated. "You're seeking death!" Insolence saw his brother's pale face and drew his military dagger, turning to attack. Talon sneered coldly, yanking his arm and using Chaos as a shield. The dagger struck with unstoppable force, piercing Chaos's waist. Insolence frowned instantly. Before he could react, Talon's hand clamped down on his throat like a vise. "You two traitors should have died for killing my soldiers in the Middle East three years ago." Talon lifted one of them high. "I said I would wash away the grievances of my soldiers with your blood! Now, their souls can rest in peace." With two crisp cracks, Insolence and Chaos's necks were forcibly broken by Talon. The living room fell into a deep silence once again. Masked King and Vinnie couldn't believe that their two fierce subordinates had been defeated so quickly by Talon. They had been taken out just like that. "Masked King, what do we do? Your subordinates are dead!" Vinnie screamed inappropriately, quickly hiding behind Masked King, his eyes filled with fear and confusion as he looked at Talon. Vinnie was just a wealthy nepo baby and had never seen such a scene before. Usually, he was the one bullying others. When he saw his people actually dying, he had no courage to confront Talon. "Haha, so neither Insolence nor Chaos could handle you, and you came back on purpose?" Masked King remained unmoved, quickly understanding the situation. "Storm guy, you could have left but chose to come back. That is the biggest mistake of your life! Anyone who goes against me will not walk out alive. You're dead today!" As Masked King's voice fell, more than a dozen waiters suddenly rushed into the living room, drawing their pistols almost simultaneously. "Is this your final resort?" Talon wiped the blood from his hands and asked with a cold smile. "Storm guy, I admire your courage to remain calm in the face of a dozen guns." Masked King looked at Talon and said slowly. "Although I wanted to quit long ago, I've killed too many people to turn back now. But you should die before me. Kill him!" Masked King raised his right hand high, and the waiters all aimed their guns at Talon. As Masked King's hand dropped suddenly, gunfire erupted. Bang, bang, bang… The dense gunfire would likely turn him into a sieve. Masked King closed his eyes, feeling reluctant to see Talon's corpse on the spot. "Masked King, it seems your men are all dead?" Just as he closed his eyes, Talon's voice rang out. "What?" Masked King shivered, quickly opening his eyes. To his astonishment, the more than a dozen waiters who had rushed in were all lying in a pool of blood, their eyes wide open as if in disbelief, with blood and brain matter oozing from the back of their heads. "What… what happened?" Masked King was stunned and turned to Vinnie. "I-I don't know…" Vinnie was completely drained of strength, collapsing onto the floor. At this moment, Flamestrike walked in, fully equipped, as if he didn't see Masked King, and went straight to Talon. "Greetings, General. The Dragon Nest has completed the annihilation mission, killing thirteen enemies! Additionally, our unit has thoroughly investigated Masked King's assets! The total cash amounts to 130 billion, with numerous properties and antiques under his name. Our unit is still investigating! Currently, we have taken control of the scene, captured sixty-one people, and executed thirty-two on the spot. This place is now fully under our control!" "What??" Masked King's head buzzed. He looked at Talon in disbelief. "Who are you? How could you possibly investigate all my assets? Impossible, impossible! You must be bluffing!" "You're going to die!" Talon picked up a pistol and aimed it at Masked King's head. "General, hold on!" Flamestrike suddenly called out. "According to our investigation, Masked King may have a relative in the capital. If you kill him hastily, it might cause you trouble." Masked King suddenly remembered this matter and urgently said, "My uncle is in the capital, and he…" Bang! Talon pulled the trigger, and Masked King's words were cut off. A small hole appeared on his forehead, and he couldn't believe Talon actually dared to shoot. Talon said coldly, "Even if his uncle is my superior, I must kill those who need to be killed. Anyone who dares to obstruct me must pay the price!" Talon dropped the gun and looked back at Ariya. Ariya had been stunned when the gunmen mysteriously died. "Talon, this, I…" Ariya wanted to ask something but suddenly realized it was confidential and had to shut up. "It's okay. I'm here," Talon smiled at Ariya. "If you're tired, you can rest here for a while. I'll have the place cleaned up later." "Okay." Ariya nodded absentmindedly. She felt that after the soldiers appeared, Talon seemed to have become a different person. He had become expressionless, somewhat cold-blooded, and frightening. Talon turned his gaze back to Vinnie. Before he could speak, Vinnie quickly bowed down. "Sir! I beg you, don't kill me! Please don't kill me! I've already told you that the land Masked King sold to the Carr family has many antiques buried underground! And my father said that we must get that land because it can be linked to the people behind Masked King! That's all I know. Please don't kill me. I'll give you money; whatever amount you want, I'll give it to you!" Talon shrugged and casually stated, "Money is not a must for me." "Then what do you want? I'll do anything; just spare me!" Vinnie, nearly soiling his pants from fear, pleaded desperately. "You will work for me, serving as my errand boy." Talon hesitated for a moment. Since the Carr family was interested in the land, it was worth keeping Vinnie as a lead to see if they could uncover the person behind Masked King. "Thank you, my lord! Thank you, my lord!" Vinnie kept bowing and thanking. He felt he had finally saved his life.
