Ariya clenched her fists under the table. The Gordon family's order was ten billion, but the Richards family was offering thirty billion. The Richards family was making a significant move, and this action suggested they were preparing to declare war on the Gordon family.
"So, what do you think? I'm not great at business talks, so I went straight to the amount. I believe business should be as straightforward as personal relationships. Shall we toast to our successful partnership?" Dale said, signaling for red wine and holding up his glass with a smile.
Feeling a bit pleased, Ariya raised her glass and smiled. "Mr. Richards, on behalf of the Arilon Group, I want to thank you. While I'm not entirely clear on what happened between you and the Gordon family, that doesn't affect our cooperation. Here's to our success!" She raised her glass and downed the wine.
Dale swirled his wine glass but didn't drink, a sly smile creeping onto his lips. "Now that we've wrapped up the business talk, let's discuss something else. I heard Ms. Willis is married. Your husband's name is Talon, right? He served five years in the military and is back now?"
"Oh? You know about my husband?" Ariya was slightly puzzled when she noticed he hadn't drunk, and his words drew her attention.
"I don't know him personally, but there are some things you need to know, Ms. Willis," Dale said, putting down his glass casually.
"What is it? Is it about Talon?" Ariya felt a bit dizzy but brushed it off, thinking it was just from her earlier fun with Talon, and curiously asked.
"Do you know that a few days ago, he saved Nia? Do you know how much effort it took me to lure Nia to Philadelphia? I intended to deal with her there and collect videos to threaten the Gordon family. But he ruined that. That's not all."
He added, "He killed my cousin over a multi-colored stone. My uncle sent people to hunt him down, and he ended up killing them too. Three lives. How do you think this should be settled?" Dale looked at Ariya, the effects of the drug starting to take hold. He loosened his tie and continued.
Ariya stiffened. She had heard Nia mention that Talon brought her back to the Gordon family, but she didn't realize that it was Dale who had brought her to Philadelphia. Talon had killed a member of the Richards family in Philadelphia, which meant Dale wasn't here for business at all.
Ariya wanted to stand up, but to her shock, she found her body limp and lacking strength. She could barely speak.
"Ms. Willis, this drink is laced with a powerful sedative, so don't bother trying to fight it. Talon took Nia from me. Today, you'll have to take her place." Dale stood up and took off his tie, his eyes gleaming with a sinister light.
"After I'm done with you, I'll post the video online. Even if your husband has connections, there's nothing he can do, right? Don't blame me. Blame your useless husband, hahaha!"
"You... don't come near me, don't..." Ariya tried to stand again, but her muscles felt unresponsive as she trembled, speaking weakly.
Dale grinned sinisterly, but just as he reached out to touch Ariya, a voice suddenly echoed in the room. "Try touching her and see what happens."
Ariya turned around and saw Talon walking in, and she instantly felt relieved, fainting from the tension.
Talon's sudden appearance surprised Dale somewhat, but he had prepared for everything before coming to Philadelphia, so he wasn't scared.
Dale put his hands behind his back and scoffed. "You arrived at the perfect time. I'll have you watch while I have my fun with your wife, and then I'll kill you to accompany my cousin to the afterlife. Everything I'm doing is to show you that no one can offend the Richards family!"
"You know me?" Talon exchanged a glance with Azureblade, who moved to check on Ariya.
Dale sneered and said to Talon, "Don't worry; it's just a little sleeping pill, enough to keep her out for ten hours. Before I came to Philadelphia, I looked into your background. Talon, you enlisted five years ago and served in the Elite Strike Team, managing logistics, right? I didn't expect Insolence and Chaos to fall at your hands!"
Talon chuckled. The state concealed his identity by giving him a role in the Elite Strike Team. With Dale's skills, he probably lost the trail of information there.
Dale continued without rushing to take action against Ariya. He slowly sat down, lit a cigar, and said, "Talon, now you can tell me how you want to die."
Talon sat down beside a chair. "So there's nothing to discuss then. Many have wanted to kill me before, but they've all failed. Do you know why?"
Dale replied, "Because you were lucky and because you trained in the Elite Strike Team. But don't get too cocky; I've invited the best killers in the world!" As he spoke, he clapped his hands, and three women in black appeared in the room, all staring intently at Talon.
"Just them?" Talon couldn't help but laugh.
Dale narrowed his eyes and said, "So you do recognize their terror. Let me introduce them. They're from a new international organization known for a hundred successful missions with no failures—the Rose Organization. A few days ago, they were behind the shocking assassination of the deputy commander of Sunavia!"
