Chapter FifteenParking outside Catherine’s apartment, Forrest approached the front door and unlocked it with a spare key that she had given him.
Stepping inside the lounge, he stopped when Beth and Kristen turned to face him. He remained standing near the door until Catherine emerged from the kitchen. He glanced at her, “I’ve joined them.”
Catherine hesitated before answering, “Good for you.”
“Catherine, listen to me for a minute.” He approached her, “Denise’s parents were turned just like she was. And there was a girl, she couldn’t have been more than fourteen or fifteen.” A trace of anger appeared in his voice, “Those things had chopped up what was left of her up and Colonel Stephanie said that the poor girl would have been alive when they started eating her.”
