Chapter FourHearing the scream, Kate rushed from the games room, thinking that her imagined stalker might be real. Dashing down the stairs, she ran to the garage, coming to an abrupt stop when she saw Beth standing motionless by the open door. Approaching her, Kate noticed the small stream of blood emerging from beneath the door. “What happened?” Beth pointed to the door, refusing to look inside. Moving past her, Kate ventured inside the small room, placing her hand over her mouth as she peered into the corner. “Hell.” The body of a Labrador was stretched out on the concrete floor, half the flesh torn from the carcass.
