Before I can walk over to where she is I'm stopped by a man. I shouldn't say man, this being is a Vamp. A very large Vamp. I do a quick once over and notice he definitely works out. With high cheekbones and chiseled jaw he's a killer. Add in his dark hair and blue eyes. I know it's bad but I'm hooked. "Like what you see gorgeous" "uUh what?" "You were checking me out " "Oh I'm sorry" "I don't mind" He flashes me a smug grin, tilting his chin up slightly. Then slides his gaze over me in the same way I did him. I shrink back slightly, nervous. He seems to notice because he stops his perusing and takes a step back. "You don't like my attention?" I snap my gaze up to meet his. Slowly I shake my head, saying "I'm not exactly a fan of your type like everyone else" He raises his brow. "Oh you're not?" He asks in fake disbelief. I don't give an answer and just look at him instead. He drops his gaze and walks off into the trees. I'm suddenly rammed into by Madison who is squealing with excitement. "DO YOUU KNOW WHO YOU WERE TALLING TO" She slurs. Clearly she's having more fun than me. "No" "That was only Elias Matthew's, the son of Michael Matthews" My jaw drops. Michael Matthew's is one of the world's richest men, or rather Vampires. And an extremely scary individual, I heard he threw someone out a 13 story building for making him mad. "Yeah, exactly, so you KNOW that makes him rich right. Why didn't you give him some? He was clearly into you" "Give him some what?" "Blood. s*x. whatever he wanted" She laughs as if i said something silly. "You really think I'd do that, ME who doesn't wear anything my mom doesn't approve of. Offering up my body to a stranger, a Vamp nonetheless " "I think you would if it was the right one" She wiggles her eyebrows at me, grinning madly. I think she's had too much to drink, but before I can say anything she's walking off with some blonde boy to trees. She turns and gives me a suggestive look and points to him before they disappear from my eyesight. I start after them so I can keep an eye on her, but get stopped again. I turn to see Elias who's shaking his head no to me. "Don't follow he's not going to hurt her" "How do you know?" "He works for me, and is my best friend " "Sorry but that doesn't mean much to me. I know what you are" His grin takes over his face as he says "Oh do you now. Then why aren't you throwing yourself at me like everyone else?" "I would never date a Vamp" "I never mentioned dating. Most common it's blood I'm offered or other things. By those who want money, or to be turned themselves" I gasp "People ask you to turn them?" He laughs incredulously "What did you expect, not everyone is as discusted as you are" My face flames up as I realize just how prejudiced I must seem. "I didn't mean to offend you" He turns up his nose "Not like you could" With that I go around him and start off to where I saw Mads last. Even though I don't turn back I can feel him behind me. "Leave me alone Elias" He stops. I turn to look at him, he looks almost in a trance. All of a sudden he's gone and a gust of wind races past me. I run after where he went, or where I assume he went since he's too fast to see. I stop when i hear him yell "John get off her!" I turn around a few trees and see him pry his blonde friend off of Mads. She's bleeding and passed out. I rush forward to help her "Mads oh my God. It's gonna be ok." I cry. Before I can get to her though, Elias speaks up "Get out of here" I look at him holding back John, and notice his mouth dripping at the sides. Red outlines his mouth and his eyes are bloodshot. I fall onto my butt and scramble backwards up against a tree. "Get out of here Kahlia" He says as he starts dragging away John. How did he know my name I think, getting to my feet. I walk up and try to grab her again but he yells to leave. The look in his eyes let's me know I'm not going to win this. "I'll come back for her I promise" "How do I know you won't hurt her?" "You'll just have to trust me. You can't carry her yourself anyways" I know he's right but I can't stop myself from going up to her and trying anyways. Grabbing her around the torso I try and put her over my shoulder. Standing up I realize my mistake as we both fall back to the ground. "You're going to end up hurting the both of you. Just please trust me". John struggles against him and manages to break free while his friend was distracted. Before I realize it he's on top of me and pulling my head to the side. I close my eyes and scream. All of a sudden the air by my head is empty and Elias has a hold of his friend again, although this time he's limp. I look closer and see his head at an unnatural angle and realize his neck must he broken. "I had to, he will be fine. He's essentially just sleeping, although he will not be happy with me when he wakes up". In a flash he's gone and I'm left alone in the forest with my unconscious friend. I get up and walk over to her, again. Brushing her hair from her face I apologize for dropping her and for the situation. A small gust of wind and a slight huff let's me know Elias is back. "Let me help you. I'll carry her to your house." I nod my head and we start walking, we pass everyone at the fire. Those still standing eye us with scared looks as we go by. "I can't believe there was an attack. Didn't he sleep with Jennifer 3 months ago?" "I don't know I thought so too" I hear whispered. "He dumped her though I thought" "I guess he wanted someone else" I keep walking not wanting to hear anymore. After about a half hour walk I see my house up ahead. I get to the door and my mom is already opening it ushering me into a hug. "Oh my sweet girl you don't know how worried I've been. Mrs. Clark down the street told me there was an attack, and then I tried to call you but you didn't answer your phone-" "Mom I'm ok. I didn't get attacked, it was Madison" She turns to look at my friend, realizing that she was bleeding and unconscious. "Oh my heavens get her in here we need to call her mom, we need to call 911" She stops and looks at the man holding her. Her eyes narrow as she walks up and says "Was it you? If it was I swear to go-" He clears his through and interrupts her slightly "No ma'am. It was a friend of mine, John Hayden. I helped your daughter bring her back. If you'll let me there's no need for an ambulance" She looks him up and down before saying "You can come in" I glare at her and as he walks past me into my house, gives me his cocky grin.
