Chapter 6 the sound

I walk towards the window shocked by the sudden noise I peer outside and see a big black shadow dash through the bushes. It startled me. “It’s just my imagination.” I try to reassure myself, stepping back remembering to go back to my room, curiosity slowly digging at me trying to convince me to go and find out what the noise was. Suddenly I hear it once again before reaching the steps. I jump, sending shivers throughout my body. “What is that noise?” I mumble. I decide to keep on going to my room since I’m probably just tired. I walk up the steps going further up and walk down the dark hallway where my room is. I open the door, walk inside then go and change it to a nightgown then go into bed ‘THUMP’ WHAT ON EARTH WAS THAT? The sudden sound scared me. I try to breathe the same thump happens again, feeding my curiosity JUST GO TO SLEEP. I think to myself trying to threaten myself into a sleep like that would do something. Obviously it didn’t ‘THUMP’ ‘THUMP’ it’s getting louder. . . Where is the sound coming from? I hop out of bed curiosity getting the best of me and walk towards the door trying to calm my anxious mind. I grab a lantern on the way over and lit it so I could see through the dark night. The door creaks, making me scared to get caught out of my room. At night I step down the staircase. The stairs seem a lot taller in the dark but my curiosity is too strong to ignore anymore so I must keep going. I go further and further down the sound increasing in volume then I reach the door for the garden closest to my room closest to where the sound was coming, I then walk through the doorway trying to ready myself for anything. Stepping outside I remind myself to breathe, which may seem like a given though you still must remind yourself to at times when stressed. But when I reach outside it stops only to reveal a large shadow moving, weaving throughout my vision. Zooming farther and closer, somehow showing itself more pronounced than the shadows around it, making itself known. The large shadows shape won't show as it is moving too fast but it starts pacing closer and closer slowly making a form appear. It stops in its tracks close enough to see what was making such a sound the shadow was huge in general. Making such a sound could've been accidental or even targeted but I can see the appearance as it gears for the light showing a gentle side. I-it has fur? Eyes big but closed so I can't see the color and then it moved its head closer ‘step’ step’ step’ FOOT STEPS!?!?! The creature ran before I could identify it “eloise you must get to bed. You could get caught.”Rose whispered. I dropped the lantern in shock. We went and cleaned it up then rushed back into bed so we could sleep “I’m sorry rose” i said apologetic. “It's fine, have a good night, and don't go back out okay?” she replied. I headed back up the stairs and layed back in my bed relaxing myself and after the long day finally drifted off into a sleep.
