2. Gift For Edward

The duel between the two sons of the Alpha Gold Moon Pack began. The pack members were excited to see a very rare duel. Both transformed themselves into wolf form. Edward and Alphonse looked so mighty. Edward stood tall while Alphonse was already running towards him.
Edward dodged every attack from Alphonse, his half-brother. No one cheered for Edward. Almost all the spectators were rooting for Alphonse. Of course, it was because Alphonse was a descendant of the Alpha Gold Moon Pack. They would all want Alphonse to be the next Alpha more than Edward, who was not a descendant of an Alpha mate.
Edward was ready to take the fight to Alphonse, but he was distracted by the strange scent that was so strong in his nose.
"What is this?" Edward muttered. He searched for the whereabouts of the scent. But an attack kept Edward from focusing on the duel between him and Alphonse.
"Hey!" Alphonse screeched. He didn't like it when Edward wasn't focused on the duel. "What are you doing, Edward? Don't dodge!"
Edward didn't budge. He looked around. He accidentally stared at a girl wearing a mask. The strong scent was coming from that girl.
"Who is she?" Edward muttered. He realized something was coming to his mind. "My mate?"
Alphonse approached Edward. He-wolf ordered him to beat Edward immediately, but Alphonse reverted back to human form. "You want to play this duel?" Alphonse grumbled.
Edward stared at Alphonse. He was still confused. How could he meet his mate at such a crucial moment?
"Sorry, we're going to have to cancel this. I have something to do. Let's do this duel again tomorrow," Edward said.
"What?" Alphonse didn't like Edward's request. He didn't want to play in this match. Their parents were watching the two of them. Roy Reynolds was surprised to see his two sons stopping him from dueling.
"What the hell is Edward doing?" Farah screeched, Roy Reynolds' mate, the Alpha.
Roy Reynolds was also furious that Edward was playing a duel today. He immediately approached his two sons to find out what was going on.
"Why did you stop the duel, Edward?" Roy asked.
"I found him, Dad," Edward said.
Roy understood his forehead. "Found what?" Roy muttered.
"I can't continue the duel today. I have to take care of something first. We'll duel again tomorrow!" Edward said. He left the duel arena unceremoniously. He searched for the whereabouts of the girl wearing the mask earlier. But Edward found that the girl had run away from the duel arena.
Edward ran to catch up with the masked girl. He broke through the crowd of people near the duel arena but failed to find that girl.
"Ah!" Edward was furious at not being able to find that girl. "Who are you?"

Later that evening, Virgie was at the restaurant where she worked. She smiled happily because she had found her dead even though they had not officially met each other.
The other workers noticed Virgie smiling happily. They didn't seem to like her happiness.
"Hey, The Ugly. Where have you been? You left work and went to watch a duel. You're not helping here!" another worker grumbled.
"I am sorry," Virgie replied. She didn't want to spoil her happiness after meeting her mate. She was eager to make food for her dashing and handsome wolf. Moreover, he was the Alpha candidate. How happy Virgie was to know that her fate would change because she was the Alpha mate of the Gold Moon Pack.
After her work, Virgie prepared the ingredients for Edward's meal. She wanted to make a meal and celebrate her birthday with Edward. She was so happy while cooking for her mate.
"Will he like my cooking?" Virgie murmured.
Some people who were going home noticed Virgie busy in the kitchen. They were cynical because Virgie looked so happy.
"Hey, what are you doing? Everyone has to go home. Why are you still busy in the kitchen? Do you want to be noticed by Maria?" grumbled one of them.
Virgie didn't want to listen to them. She remained focused on preparing food for Edward.
Virgie's attitude irritated them. They snatched the food that Virgie had made. They bullied her again.
"You want to prepare this for your eyes? Realize what you are like. You won't have a mate!" they taunted.
"Give it back!" Virgie shrieked.
One of them threw the food, and it fell apart. Virgie looked at it, and she was so upset. Her eyes turned red. She looked at the girl who threw the food for Edward.
Virgie-wolf appeared when she was upset. She-wolf couldn't accept that Virgie was being mistreated like this.
"You're destroying mine!" she-wolf screamed!" Virgie attacked the women who were bullying her.
"Virgie!" A woman's voice brought Virgie back to her figure. It was Maria, her superior.
Maria immediately asked the other employees to go home. "You guys go home!" Maria said.
They hurried home. Meanwhile, Virgie was very upset because the food for Edward had been spoiled.
"Why are you angry?" Maria asked. "You're not usually angry."
"I wanted to give you a meal to celebrate my birthday with .... " Virgie was embarrassed to say.
But it seemed Maria already knew what Virgie meant. "So, did you find him?" And Virgie nodded.
"Bring the cake from the fridge. Give it to him," Maria said.
"Huh?" Virgie was surprised that Maria was so kind to her.
"Hurry up. Before he leaves," Maria said.
Virgie wanted to use this opportunity effectively. She quickly grabbed the cake from the fridge and brought it to meet Edward at the dueling arena. She put her mask back on so Edward wouldn't see the scars on her face. She didn't want Edward to know that she was ugly.
With great excitement, Virgie searched for Edward's whereabouts. She couldn't wait to show Edward the cake. Virgie was so happy that she would meet Edward, and they would celebrate her birthday together.
Virgie did find Edward. She saw him near the dueling grounds. There was Alphonse, too, with his family. But suddenly, the cake Virgie was holding fell over. She was speechless when she saw a beautiful girl together with Edward.
That girl was hugging Edward. They were also seen kissing each other right in front of Virgie. They looked very harmonious together. Edward looked at that girl with a happy smile.
"Impossible," Vergie muttered. She was in shock. "Edward..."
