4. The Second Duel

Virgie returned home with an uneasy feeling. She was happy to finally meet her mate. Unfortunately, Edward already had a woman he liked. But isn't mate the destiny of the Moon Goddess? In front of the house, Rebecca was waiting for Virgie, who had just come home. She looked upset that her daughter had come home too late.

"Edward Reynolds, the son of Alpha Gold Moon Pack," Vergie replied.
Rebecca sighed. She looked at Vergie as if dismissive. "Then why him? Do you like him?" Rebecca asked. "Don't expect too much. You are an omega descendant. Don't you dare fall in love with him?" Rebecca warned Virgie. She immediately let go of Virgie's hand that was holding her.
Rebecca entered the house, followed by Virgie. She was still smiling. Although there was a feeling of hurt from seeing Edward making out with another woman. Even though Edward was her mate.
"He's my mate, Mom," said Vergie.
Rebecca, who was walking with a nonchalant attitude, suddenly became silent and stopped her steps. She looked uneasy and as if she was unhappy with the information Virgie had told her.
"What did you say?" Rebecca asked.
Virgie told her mother that Edward Reynolds was dead. She was absolutely sure.
"Edward Reynolds, son of Roy Reynolds-Alpha Gold Moon Pack, is my mate. I found out during the duel between Edward and his half-brother, Alphonse Reynolds," Vergie answered.
Rebecca showed an expression that she didn't believe Virgie's words. She even laughed at her daughter's words.
"Mom, why are you laughing?" Virgie asked. She felt so sad that her mother didn't believe her. "Do you think I'm lying?"
Rebecca pulled Virgie's hand. She took that girl to the mirror and showed Virgie's scarred face.
"Take a good look at how you look. Look!" Rebecca even pointed at Virgie's face in the mirror. This, of course, made Virgie feel uncomfortable. She also didn't like the scars on her face.
Virgie pondered. Her expression suddenly turned sad. "Why don't you support me, Mom?" Virgie asked.
"You have to realize who you are, Virgie. I'm sure you're wrong." Rebecca tried to wake Virgie up. "There were a lot of spectators at the dueling venue. You could be mistaken. You are an omega descendant. How could you be the mate of a future Alpha? Don't be delusional. Besides, who would want an ugly girl like you? He would be disgusted if he saw your face!"
Vergie was sad to hear her mother's words. But it was the truth. Virgie put her arms around her daughter and looked at her scarred face in the mirror.
"Forget about your mate. You just need to work hard now. Accept who you are. Don't dream too high, or you'll fall," Rebecca said. "Get some sleep. Tomorrow you have to work again."
Rebecca left her daughter in front of the mirror alone. While Virgie stared at her face. That looked terrible with the scars.
Virgie burst into tears. She actually recognized that scent from Edward Reynolds. A wolf would always recognize its mate. They were destiny. Maybe it was because they still needed to meet that they didn't know each other very well. Virgie believed that Edward was her destiny. Even if no one supports her, Virgie will still try to meet Edward again. She would make sure that Edward would welcome her as a mate.

"Mom," Vergie said.
She immediately helped her mother in the kitchen. Her mother worked at Victor Joseph's residence. Alpha of Dark Moon Pack.
"Rebecca! Rebecca!" A girl's voice called out loudly to Rebecca.
Virgie closed her eyes as the voice called her mother in a disrespectful tone. But Rebecca rushed over to the voice. She immediately headed to the front.
A beautiful girl with long silky hair was sitting in front of the television.
"Yes, Miss," Rebecca said hurriedly.
"I want you to bring me the shoes I bought yesterday. Bring them here because I have to go," that girl said.
That beautiful girl was Selena Joseph. The daughter of Alpha Dark Moon Pack. Selena was a spoiled girl and also selfish. She was also heartless and haughty. And Virgie clearly remembered that she was the woman who had made out intimately with Edward in the dueling arena. Virgie didn't like her because she was very bossy with her mother. However, Rebecca strangely loved to pamper Selena as if she were her own daughter.
"Yes, Miss," Rebecca said. She rushed to Selena's room to get the shoes. At that time, Virgie finished her work to help her mother. Virgie intended to see another Dark Moon Pack Alpha candidate duel in the city center.
Virgie passed by and didn't realize that Selena had seen her. Selena glanced sarcastically at Virgie, who was the waitress' daughter. In her mind, she thought that her life was really luckier than Virgie's.

"Why isn't anyone rooting for Edward?" grumbled Vergie.
Virgie didn't care. She approached the duel arena and saw Edward with Alphonse, who was already preparing for the duel. Virgie was fascinated with Edward. The man was really handsome and also a good fighter. She was so happy that her mate was Edward.
"You must win, Edward."
