First Day Of My Life So Let's Dance

Once Hayley had got herself settled and she felt calmer she headed back towards the medical centre. Glimpsing down at her phone as she walked back and seeing a message from her Dad asking her how things were going she typed out a quick reply. Not watching where she was going she felt her body knocking into something and her phone dropping out of her hand onto the ground. Stumbling to bend down she accidentally bumped her head against something, glancing up she noticed the same green eyes and dark haired young man she had made a fool of herself in front of in the Doctor’s office.

“Oh my god I’m so sorry!” she mumbled in a panicked way trying not to fall over as she stood up to look at him.

“It’s ok only a small bump to the head, I’ve had much worse. I believe this is yours?” he said as he handed back to her the phone which she had dropped.

“Thanks, and I really am sorry I just wasn’t looking where I was going”

“I’m Charles by the way Dr Jones wasn’t it?” he asked as he put a hand out to shake hers

“Yeah it is” Hayley replied blushing as she took his hand and shook his back. “Hope your medical went well today”

“Ah if it didn’t I wouldn’t be standing here talking to a lovely woman like you” Charles said making Hayley blush even more.

“Well I had better get back to work it was nice meeting you Charles. Best of luck for this weekend” Hayley said and began to walk away.

“Maybe I’ll see you around or at the after party on Sunday?” Charles called at her as she was walking away, not getting a reply but a quick glance back at him with a small smile on her face. He headed back to his team garage to get ready for todays practice session.

Hayley walked quickly back to the medical centre where she met up with a few fellow colleagues who were discussing their plans after the race weekend. Standing at the edge of the group not really listening to the conversation she was suddenly asked a question

“Are you going to the after party on Sunday night?” Ryan asked her shaking her out of her reverie.

“Mmmmm I don’t think so” she replied “Didn’t even know we could go”

“Everyone is invited that worked and the drivers will be there too! I saw a certain Monegasque driver eyeing you up” replied Jessica one of the nurses who worked in the medical centre and Hayley had managed to strike up a bit of a friendship. She had heard about what happened earlier in Dr Roberts’s office.

Blushing at his name Hayley said nothing but walked back to her office ready to see anymore who would come in today. Getting her things in order she settled down and before anything else she took a quick peek at her phone searching for Charles Leclerc. Her face fell when she seen loads of photos of him with a beautiful brunette who the media said was called Charlotte. Wondering why she was even disappointed as she would never met the expectations of even attracting one of the drivers. Taking a big sigh she put her phone into the drawer and waited for her next patient.

The weekend went in very quick Hayley never thought she would have of been as busy. The medical centre seemed to always have someone needing their help. Friday night Hayley was one of the doctors on call and ended having to assist the surgical doctor with a race official who had a burst appendix. Having Saturday off until her next shift on Sunday she got to watch the qualifying for the races on Sunday. Jessica who'd also been on duty with her decided to keep her company and show her around. They'd enjoyed the Italian sunshine and had a lovely meal when they went to watch the F1 qualifying. Sunday was an even busier day as due the high volume of spectators they also had to see them if they took unwell or any injuries. Hayley never saw the day go in and before she knew it her shift was over. Ryan popped his head in and said that was it for the day to go and get ready to head to the after party.

Hayley waited outside the medical centre for Jessica who she was giving a lift back to the hotel catching the last rays of sun before it set for the evening. The paddock was beginning to empty out as all the hospitality areas and Lorries where being dismantled or leaving. As she leant against the wall of the medical centre wishing Jessica would hurry up a couple of cars drove past her honking their horns and some wolf whistling. Hayley just chose to ignore them as she hated drawing attention to herself. When suddenly a car slowed right down near her and a window came down showing Charles at the wheel.

“Hey sexy lady “he said with a wink “see you at the party, save a dance for me!” and he slowly drove off.

“Well well well I told you he was eyeing you up!” exclaimed Jessica who had just left the building and heard what Charles said

“Oh he’s just showing off and being an i***t” replied Hayley blushing though at the compliment he had passed.

“Come on then Cinderella let’s get you ready for the ball” Jessica said gently pushing Hayley with her shoulder.

Jumping into the car they drove back to their hotel and soon the two girls were ready to hit the party.

“Damn Hayley you look amazing. Charles will definitely be all over you now!” exclaimed Jessica when she called up to Hayley’s room before heading down to get a taxi. “You’d never guess it was you that red dress looks stunning on you and your tan really sets it off”

“I don’t look overdressed or slutty? I normally don’t go out to dances or parties much” Hayley asked tugging at the bottom of the dress thinking she was showing too much skin.

“Not at all if I had your figure I’d be showing it off, instead I’ve had to wear this old thing” replied Jessica pointing at a little black number which suited her dark skin and brunette hair. “Right lets go show these boys what we are made off.” Grabbing Hayley by the arm and scooping up her handbag they headed down to the lobby of the hotel.

Hayley felt a bit self-conscious as she could feel people staring at her. Sitting down she nervously played a stray strand of hair waiting on Jessica to come back as she had went to the bar to them a drink before they got their taxi.

“Maybe I should just go back to my room, everyone is staring!” exclaimed Hayley as soon as Jessica arrived back with two glasses of prosecco.

“Oh no you don’t Cinders! Tonight you shall go to the ball and you aren’t leaving me on my own. They are staring because you look gorgeous. Here drink this and you’ll be fine” retorted Jessica as she lifted her glass and drank her prosecco.

Hayley drank hers in silence still aware of the looks she was getting from the people around them. Soon she felt a tug on her arm and looked up to see Jessica standing beside her “Come on you it’s time to go the taxi’s here”

A short taxi ride later they pulled up to one of the hippest clubs which was hosting the after party. Stepping out of the taxi she glanced around hoping no one would be staring at her as she walked up the stairs leading into the club which was already bouncing and the music pumping. She didn’t notice the small group standing above her on a balcony looking down at the people arriving.

“Wowzers who is the hot blonde in the little red number?” exclaimed Max who was watching everyone arrive as he was watching out for Kelly.

The rest of the group consisting of Charles, Carlos Sainz, Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon, Daniel Ricciardo, Lando Norris and Yuki Tsundao all looked over to see who the girl was that Max had spotted.

“She’s definitely that Max can’t say I’ve seen her about but I’m sure prince charming here will want to find out” said Daniel nudging Pierre on the shoulder.

“Very funny Dan, although it would be nice to know who she is. She’s probably some media or a sponsors daughter here for a good time”

As they watched her Jessica shouted out “Hey Hayley wait up for me” as she got out of the taxi. Hayley stopped on the steps and waited for Jessica to catch up with her still unaware of the drivers above watching her.

“Oh Yuki your favourite nurse is here” Pierre shouted out “I guess the blonde is a friend of hers”

Another taxi pulled up and out stepped the rest of the medical team who where going to the after party. Ryan and a couple of the other doctors got out and made their way to the entrance.

"Dr Jones is that you? Damn you scrub up well" Ryan said admiring how she looked. "Right let's go in and get this party started and show these guys how real people party!"

"Holy crap it's the new doc the blonde!" blurted out Lando making Charles get up and get a better look at her

"Isn't that the doc who you've got a crush on Charles? Asked Carlos

Charles glanced over the balcony and watched as Hayley walked up into the club he couldn't take his eyes of her as she looked so different than we had seen her earlier.

"Right lads I think it's time we went down and got this party really started" he said in which he got some teasing about Hayley.
