THE SECRET REVEALED

639 Words
I noticed like I'd been struck in the belly. The air was smashed out of me and I couldn't get any air. Elijah's words kept resounding in my thought, a heartless reminder of what I'd misplaced. Rachel dragged me away, her voice smooth but resolute. Aria let's go. You need to get out of here. I am still surprised. As we came to Rachel's house, she guided me to her room. I slumped onto her bed, feeling like I'd been exhausted of all my energy. Just then, Rachel's phone rang. She looked at the screen and her gesture changed. Aria, it's Elijah. He's trying to reach me. My heart jumped over a beat. What did Elijah need now? I sensed a burst of rage and pain. As the time passed by, I sensed my feeling whirling out of control. I was distressed, furious and lost of words. Days change into weeks, and I battled to come to agreement with what had occurred, I sensed forgotten and alone. And then one day, I spotted him. Elijah. He was positioned outside the local coffee shop, smiling and talking with a girl I'd not seen before. My heart jumped a beat. Who is she? What was she doing with Elijah? As I looked, Elijah and the girl marched away together, arm in arm. I sensed like I'd been struck in the belly all over again. And then, just as I was about to decline, I saw something that made my blood lose heat. Elijah's eye fixed onto mine, and for a brief interval, I belief I saw a flicker of regret. But it was quickly exchanged by a mask of unconcern. And in that moment, I knew I had to approach him. As I carried off a step ahead, I sensed a hand on my shoulder, grasping me back. It was Rachel. Aria, don't. Don't move to him. He's not merit it. But I brushed her aside, I have to discover the truth, Rachel. I have to be aware why he refused me. And with that, I set forth after Elijah. But as I rushed, I couldn't get rid of the feeling that I was marching into danger. And then, just as I was about to outrun to Elijah, everything went black. I noticed a hand across my mouth and an arm beside my waist, and I was pulled away from the scene. When I came to, I was stretching out on the ground, my head racing with pain I battled to sit up, but a surge of lightheadedness washed over me. As I glanced around I noticed that I was alone. My aggressor had departed. I fell to my feet and began to walk, but I was unaware where I was going. All I knew was that I had to flee from Elijah. I marched from what I felt like hours, but after a while I found myself back at Rachel's house. She was keeping watch for me, her eyes broad with anxiety. Aria, where have you been? I've been looking everywhere for you. I shook my head, sensing a wave of weakness wash over me. I don't know, I said my voice scarcely above a hiss. And then, just as I was about to fall, the doorbell echoed. Rachel jumps to answer it. As she unlocked the door, I saw a statue standing in the shadows. It was Elijah. Aria I know you're disappointed, he said, his voice shallow and glossy. But please, just listen to me. I sensed a surge of feeling wash over me. What did Elijah desire now? And then, just as I was about to answer everything went black again. This time I was pulled away from the house into the blackness. I was restrained, and I haven't a clue what was going to happen next……..
