Murphy the Cat

Chapter 3

"J-JOY?!" Seung-joon eyes gets wide as he recognized the one who fell from above. Joy stared at Seung-joon and starts to blush.

"Are you alright?"

"U-umm... Yes!" Joy answered and she averted her gaze from Seung-joon Can you put me down?" she added, and she worried that Seung-joon might experience cramps. Seung-joon then, slowly put Joy to the ground.

"By the way, Your Broth... "

Joy didn't let Seung-loon to finish his statement and shut him using her hand "Shhhhh! Tone down... He'll gonna hear you." She whispered.

"Seung-joon! Seung-joon! Where are you? I've finally found the wrench..." Hyojin shouted from the front door of their house.

"H-hey! don't tell my brother that you saw me okay?" Joy said with her tone down voice. Seung-joon removed Joy's hand from covering his mouth "But your brother is-"

"Shhhhhh! Please... I'm begging you. I just want to hang out with my friend. If he found out about this, he won't let me go." joy said as she's lowered her head.

A familiar loud horn is heard and that gives Joy signal to go.

"I gotta go now! Don't tell this to my brother okay? Thank you! Thank you!" She said and rushily walks away from Seung-joon. And headed to the fence and climb up to escape.

Seung-joon stayed there for a while and watched Joy until she finally disappears from his sight when suddenly he heard a plastic sound. He begins to search where the sound came from. He saw a big black plastic bag moving. He approaches it.

"BOOM!"

"Woahhh!"

"Ahahahahaha! Look at your face. So funny!" Hyojin said while laughing at Seung-joon's frightened face. Hyojin surprised him by disguising as a Big plastic bag.

"Oh! crap! I almost had a heart attack..." Seung-joon said as he sits on the sand holding his chest.

"Hahaha! I'm sorry... I just wants to scare you a bit because, I saw you standing like crazy over there." said hyojin while he's lifting Seung-joon up "By the way, is there anyone here? You seem looking to someone..." he curiously asked.

"U-umm... Nothing... I just saw a cat climbing on the fence over there. So, I'm just watching that...

"A cat?"

Seung-joon swallowed "Errr. Ya... Something like that." He answered while avoiding Hyojin's eyes.

Hyojin suddenly gets serious "What do you mean by you saw a cat? What is the color of that cat?" He asked. "H-hey... Why you seem interested on it? It's just an ordinary cat, Ya know." said Seung-joon as he shifts his gaze back at Hyojin then tapped him "Come, let's try to open your front door with that wrench in your hand." he added and marched towards the front door.

"l'm not kidding..."

"Hahahaha! I got you again!"

"Geez! You are really crazy! I think, you should go to the mental hospital!" Seung-joon said with annoyance. Hyojin did not respond as he gets a flashback.

*flashback* (Hyojin)

7-year-old boy was happily playing on the playground until he noticed a kitten watching over him. He approached the cat and massage t's head "HI their kitty, where's your mother and Father? you should not be here alone..." he said to the kitten.

Hyojin, honey! Let's go home now... It's getting dark already." Said by hyojin's mother.

"Ohh, yes mommy!" Hyojin answered "Bye Bye kitty... I hope we could see each other again. Go back to your mother and father okay?" He said to the kitten and run towards to his mother.

Hyojin noticed that the kitten is following them while walking.

"Mom?"

"Yes honey?"

Hyojin stop walking so as his mother too. He turns to the cat and marched towards it "Uhmm, Can I take this kitten to our house?" he asked with pretty please eyes.

His mother walks towards him and looked at the cat "Huwow, what a cute kitten!" She said while petting the cat's head "Oh well, Ya sure honey. You can take this kitty in our house then." she said with a smile on her face.

"Yehey! Thank you, mommy! I promise, I will take care of this kitten. I will name this kitten as Murphy."

*after 2 years

The cat whose named as Murphy is 2 years old already while Hyojin was 1 0 years old at that time.

One day, on the grocery store, while they are shopping, they encountered a suspicious man. That man tries to get Hyojin's mom belongings but she fights back. The guy threatened his mother with a knife but that doesn't scare her. The holdaper gets triggered and position himself to stab Hyojin's mom. Murphy sacrificed his life to save Hyojin's mom.

"MURPHY!!!" Hyojin shout in shock as he witnessed what just happen to his lovely brave cat.

"M-m-murphy... Please wake up! Murphy..." he pleaded while crying and hugging his dead cat. Few hours later hyojin decided to buried Murphy on the vacant lot in their house which is on the back of their house, hoping that Murphy will live again. He's always looking where Murphy is buried every morning after he wakes up.

After a month, Hyojin dug into where Murphy

buried.

His little sister approached him "Brothel what are you doing? Why are dragging murphy's tomb?" she asked with a teddy bear on her hand.

"M-Murphy!!!" Hyojin shockingly said.

Murphy's body was missing.

*End of Flashback*

Joy and Laun are having too much fun in the bar. The two are dancing together like there's no tommorow with other people. When they get tired, they decided to sit down for a moment in the counter infront of the bartender and drink wine.

"Laun.- Do you have problem? Why did you suddenly invite me at this time? You're not like this before?" Joy asked as she wondered. Laun stop in the middle of drinking the wine "Hmm? A problem? Ahaha! I don't have a problem. I just want to feel what's other people from this world are doing." He answered while smiling at Joy and continued to drink.

Other people from this world doing? What does he mean?) Joy talks to his mind.

"Hey! Let's dance again!" Laun said and pulled Joy back to the dance floor.

Due to high tension, Joy bump with a guy while dancing "Oh! I'm sorry..." She said while bowing her head to the guy.

The guy smiled "It's he said "Please, don't bow your head" he added.

"Ohh, Ummm... Okay. I am sorry again."

The guy gesture to shake hands "By the way, I'm Minkyun and you?" he asked.

Joy accept the hand shake "I am Joy." she replied

"Nice to meet you Joy-. Hope to see you again if there's a chance." Minkyun said with a smile on his face.

"U-umm. . . N ice to meet you too, M inkyu n

They smiled at each other.

Seung-joon tapped Hyojin repeatedly because he noticed that Hyojin is not himself "Hyojin?! Hey! Hyojin?! Are you alright?" He shouted.

HUH?! What? Why? What happened?" Hyojin said in shock.

"Silly! What happened to you? You suddenly became silent and blankly stare in space. "

Umm... Nothing Nothing. I just remember something" Hyojin said as he looks down.

"I see...Let's go inside then. I think you're just tired."

"No 1'm not. Okay. Let's try to use this wrench on that door. Because that annoying sister of mine is deaf! does she not even hear someone is knocking. Geez!"

Seung-joon tried to open the door by using the wrench "Wew! Finally, it opened!" he said happily.

"Oh! Good Good! Now, I will go upstairs to knock in the door of my deaf sister! Wait for me. Seung-joon grabbed Hyojins shoulder "Hey, I think she's sleeping already! Just let her sleep!"

Hyojin insisted and headed to his sister's room. He knocked loudly but he didn't get any response. He knocked repeatedly but, no one is opening the door. Hyojin decided to use the key to open the doon so he searches for it.

Seung-joon followed Hyojin "What are you doing? Your sister was sleeping already!" he said. "I don't care! And I need to check her. I'm her only family now. Our mother died already and also our father. So, we're just the two of us together now." Said hyojin while finding the key "Oh! Here you go! Finally, I've found you!" he said happily as he already found the key.

Seung-joon starts to panic, he doesn’t know what to do because, he knows that Joy is not there and she even begged Seung-joon not tell to her brother that she left a while ago.

Hyojin use the key to open Joy's room "Gotcha!" he said as the door finally unlocked.

Seung-joon close his eyes while Hyojin is slowly opening the door. Then, suddenly they heard a sound on the I st floor, a breaking sound.

Hyojin was shocked "What was that?" he said.

"I don't know... We both here on the 2nd floor..."

Hyojin stop entering on Joy's roon and check what was happening in the I st floor together with Seung-joon.

"Geez! It's just a glass. I think, it slips since it’s on the edge." Seung-joon said as he picks up the broken one.

"I guess so? Wah! I feel hungry. Let's eat something. I'll cook ramyeon with shrimp."

"That's sounds good!" Seung-joon said excitedly.

Joy suddenly collapsed inside the bar where she is, with Laun. "Joy! Joy!" Laun said while he's tapping joy's cheeks. Peoples's attention on the bar are all on Joy, people stare at her full of curiosity. Minkyun approached "What happened?" he asked.

"I don't know! She suddenly falls down and lost consciousness!" Laun answered anxiously as he is worried to Joy. Minkyun checked her pulse "l'll call an ambulance!" he said while dialling the contact number of a hospital to his cellphone.

"Hey, I'm her friend. I can take her to the hospital alone." Laun said.

Minkyun looked at Laun "Ahh, really? I don't believe he said.

Laun feels annoyed to Minkyun because of his arrogance towards him.

A few minutes later an ambulance came to take Joy. The first aider asked who's the closest person to Joy and who's willing to come and serve as Joy's guardian. Laun and Minkyun both raised their hands. But, the first aider said only one guardian. Laun insisted that he's the close friend of Joy but, Minkyun also answered that he's close friend of Joy because his not believing Laun. The first aider left with no choice and choose

one of them. He chose Minkyun. Laun feels upset, so he decided to followed the ambulance.

While the ambulance is on the way to the hospital, Joy slowly moves her head and slowly opens her eyes then look at Minkyun. Mur... Murphy...?" she said while trying to

touch Minkyun's face.

Few minutes later an ambulance came to the hospital. Joy rushily take to the emergency room. Laun park his car and hurried inside the hospital and search for Joy. "Hows Joy?! Tell me?" he asked Minkyun.

"She's inside of emergency room. And why are

you here?"

Laun suddenly punch Minkyun's face "Who do you think you are?! Huh! You just met Joy for the first time. Then you're acting like you know her for many He said angrily while grabbing Minkyun's shirt. Nurses and other people on the hospital are looking at them as they were shocked.

Minkyun removed Laun's hands on his shirt and wiped the blood that came out of his nose when Laun punched him "I don't need to explain myself to he answered.

Laun was trying to punch Minkyun again but, suddenly... he stops as he saw a familiar person sitting on the wheelchair with a man pushing her. The nurse approached the woman whose sitting on the wheelchair "Hello ma'am hows you’re feeling now? is your head still hurting?" the nurse asked.

The man who’s pushing the wheelchair smiled "Yes, she's feeling fine now. I'm taking her now to her room now. he spoke. "Okay sir Yoongi, go ahead. We will pray for the fast recovery of miss Rose." Nurse said.

"Thank you. We gotta go back to her room now. She needs to rest." Yoongi said as he continued to their way. Laun stare at Rose until her shadow disappear from his sight.
