Part 2- The Revenge

Chapter 8 I stood up from my office chair and absent mindedly paced the spacious room. I moved to the vast window overlooking the city and I felt my breath catch in my throat, mesmerized by the breathtaking view below. My office was located on the 18th floor of the tallest building in the city center, and the view of the beautiful sites below gave me solitude. I glanced around at the extravagantly furnished office. Never in my dreams had I imagined that I could achieve all that in the span of one year. My anger and wrath had pushed me to work hard to limits that I never imagined I could achieve. I turned around when the mahogany office door opened slightly and my secretary popped her head inside. "There is a lady here who wants to see you but she doesn't have an appointment." I glared at her. She knew how I went about my business. Everyone who wanted to see me had to book an appointment in advance. I was busy and bitchy like that. "Marina just do your damn job. Book her an appointment. I don't want to see anyone right now." "You are not available for the next week or so. She says she only wants a minute of your time. She looks distressed" I stared at Marina in disappointment. She had been working for me a couple weeks and she was already getting on my nerves. She was a total nuisance, always late, and she did shoddy work. Her excuses for being late ranged from traffic to her alarm not going to off to...hear me out... her cat not wanting her to leave the house early. I made a mental note to look for a new secretary as soon as possible. I moved menacingly towards her and stared her down for her moment. I knew I intimidated her in my super high heels and my newly acquired bitchy attitude. I didn't care anymore. I didn't have the nice, polite personality I had possessed a year earlier, before I ran out of my own wedding ceremony. I was now aggressive and bossy, cocky and intimidating. I was ever angry and I didn't think twice before giving someone a piece of my mind. I glared at the annoying girl fidgeting with her fingers and pulled her face up to face me, staring angrily into her fearful eyes. "Listen, young lady. I'm the boss around here. You do what I say. If I say you should book whoever is on the other side of the door a f*****g appointment, you do exactly that if at all you want to keep your job. Now get out of my sight and do what I tell you to do." I pronounced every word slowly, clearly, menacingly. She bolted out of my office, balancing awkwardly on her cheap shitty heels. I slammed the door shut behind her and walked back to my massive desk. I stared at the small passport sized photo of Jack, Isabella and their Six month old son. Bile rose up in my throat and I forced myself to keep a straight face. I didn't want my emotions getting in the way of my plans. I was looking for revenge. The door to my office was forcefully thrown open and a woman fell in, hitting the floor hard. I rose angrily, a stream of curses flowing from my mouth. I was going to fire Marina so hard. I stared open mouthed as she rose up, dusting her clothes with her hands. Her golden wedding ring glittered on her finger, mocking me. My wrath rose to a boiling point. It wasn't Marina. It was Isabella.
