My breathing hitched and for a moment I was speechless. Why was she calling me? It was exactly two days since I had left her office, desperate and full of regrets. "Are you still there?" Her voice cut short my reverie. "Yes." What was I supposed to say to her? We had nothing to talk to each other about. I had already messed up big time. "Paul told me that you were arrested." "Why would he tell you that?" "Because you destroyed property worth thousands." Shit. I had forgotten that she owned the company.
